Chapter 631: Chapter 631: Conflict between both sides
"Are you OK, gorgeous? Does it hurt? Do you need me to help you up?" Gu Fan feigned concerned, his hand pressed against Lisa’s neck, his knee resting on her back, one of his hand bending her arm backward, pressing her to the floor.
"You’re such a jerk!" Lisa struggles fiercely, her strength too overpowering. With one hand supporting her on the floor, she forcefully breaks free.
Gu Fan couldn’t hold her down anymore, he was pushed off. It was a profound realization that in the face of absolute strength, all technique was futile.
Lisa swung a punch. Gu Fan hurriedly ducked and rolled on the floor, narrowly avoiding her attack. The lingering shock filled his heart; he did not want to take that hit.
No choice but to run. Gu Fan forces himself up, making a beeline for the door with the intent to escape, but he was almost out when his ankle was caught by Lisa who dragged him back.
"Thought you could run? You think you can escape?" Lisa was furious, the consequences severe.
Gu Fan ached all over, realizing he stood no chance against her. This woman was too powerful. But it was at this crucial moment; Gu Fan noticed through the cabin window a huge shadow looming in the distance.
Lisa had noticed it too, but she was more concerned with keeping the ship from charging out of the sea, preparing to hit the switch.
Gu Fan wasn’t having any of it. He lunged forward, wrapping his arms around Lisa’s legs, causing her to lose balance and fall to the floor once more.
"Bastard, I will never let you off!" Lisa struggled to free one of her legs from Gu Fan’s grasp, then fiercely kicked him in the shoulder, causing Gu Fan to wince in pain.
But due to Gu Fan’s delay, Lisa no longer had time to hit the switch. The large wooden ship had already charged out of the sea, making its appearance.
The moment the ship charged out of the sea and regained balance, Lisa, full of anger, grabbed Gu Fan by the neck, lifted him up, ready to kill him then and there.
Suddenly, Lisa noticed something large drifting nearby. She went out to investigate and found it was a large cargo ship.
Gu Fan saw the large cargo ship and was overjoyed, "Sorry Lisa, sorry beautiful, I reckon you’re not going to be able to kill me. Though I have to say, it was a pleasure knowing you, hahaha..." As he said this, Gu Fan couldn’t help but start laughing.
Lisa was bewildered, but seeing Gu Fan laughing so happily made her feel uncomfortable. Just as Lisa was preparing to get rid of Gu Fan, suddenly, the sky lit up with lightning, followed by a clap of thunder. Before Lisa could react, she was struck by lightning.
Like a gust of wind, Lin Xi landed gracefully before Gu Fan and spoke with a stern tone. "If you want to lay a finger on him, you’ll have to get through me first."
Not just Lin Xi arrived. The Boss leaped off the cargo ship. The force of his landing caused the large wooden ship to sink slightly, only to bounce back up due to buoyancy. The up and down motion caused many to lose their balance and tumble down.
"That’s quite an entrance." Su Hui and Hai couldn’t replicate it, so they were left to make their way down to provide support.
Seeing the arrival of the two uninvited guests, one of whom she had encountered before, Lisa sneered, "Didn’t expect a defeated subordinate like you would dare to return, and you even brought backup."
The Boss remained unfazed, "Last time you outnumbered us, yet you couldn’t do anything. This time, for fairness, I brought just a few more, hope you don’t mind."
After scanning the area, The Boss noticed something strange, "Weird, there seems to be fewer of you."
Upon hearing this, Lisa’s heart sank. The wooden ship emerged too fast and unexpectedly, leaving half of the Wandering Sea Ghosts behind as they were boarding the ship.
"It doesn’t matter, even with just us, we can still beat you down." After a moment of thought, Lisa didn’t panic at all because some of the Wandering Sea Ghosts have materialized. They could swim up and join the fight, giving her a substantial chance at victory.
However, Gu Fan thought of this possibility too, "Stop dawdling, we need to end this quickly. There are still many Wandering Sea Ghosts underwater that haven’t gotten here yet, right?"
Aroused by his words, The Boss immediately takes action, punching away a Wandering Sea Ghost, and yanked Leng Le up, "Take the survivors and leave, go, quickly."
"Okay, got it." Leng Le took the survivors to the railing, noticing a vast sea with their cargo ship still quite a distance away.
At this moment, Su Hui and Hai were paddling a lifeboat towards them, but they couldn’t get there quickly enough.
"We cannot let them escape, not a single one of them." Lisa shouted frantically. If she lost these people, they would be unable to replenish Qi, meaning they would be unable to materialize for a very long time.
Taking the command, many Wandering Sea Ghosts charged, but half were intercepted by The Boss whose powerful kicks and punches made his defense line indestructible.
However, some Ghosts managed to pass through, their faces savage, their expressions conveying their determination to not let them escape.
"There’s no other way, everyone jump with me." Leng Le made an instantaneous decision and was the first to jump into the sea, followed by Jie. The rest of the people, driven by fear of the ghosts, jumped into the sea one after the other.
The Wandering Sea Ghosts pursued them, jumping into the sea right behind them.
The floods of people jumping into the sea all at once was akin to dumplings being dropped into a boiling pot, the consistent plop sounds causing the arriving Hai and Su Hui on edge.
"Hurry up, everyone!" Leng Le swam as fast as he could, Jie also exerted all his strength. They could only swim forward, too afraid to look back in fear of seeing a scene straight from a horror story.
Shrieks of terror rang from behind, someone had been caught by a ghost, and was getting pulled back.
Not only that, but another wave of Wandering Sea Ghosts also emerged from the seafloor, finding a man swimming triggers them to immediately grab his ankles and pull him into the water.
The Wandering Sea Ghosts couldn’t materialize and reach the surface on their own without the large wooden ship. So when a Ghost brings a living person underwater, the other Ghosts quickly followed, converging onto them, beginning to absorb a living person’s Qi, enabling themselves to materialize.
With five Ghosts simultaneously draining Qi from a person, they withered instantly, their last expression one of intense fear and despair.
The situation was critical. Both Hai and Su Hui knew they were in trouble. Their combat skills would be useless against the Wandering Sea Ghosts under the sea, but they had no choice but to paddle through it.
Leng Le and Jie successively climbed onto the lifeboat, panting heavily from exertion.
