Chapter 599: Chapter 599: A Stele

Thanks to the protective barrier, Lin Xi was unharmed except for a bit of dizziness. Without taking a break, she was trying to find her companions everywhere.

Su Hui, who had narrowly escaped, quickly began to dig out a protruding arm. She had no idea if they could rescue everyone, but she had to start somewhere.

"Gu Fan, where are you?" Lin Xi was most concerned about Gu Fan. Frustration gnawed at her as she couldn’t locate him.

Meanwhile, Su Hui had freed Lu Yi from the rubble. Not bothering to make him comfortable, she moved on to find the next person.

Left with no other choice, Lin Xi started rescuing whoever she could find. She set her hand on the ground and forced air into the dirt before detonating it from the inside, expelling her buried teammates.

Despite the damage they took, Lin Xi immediately used magic to save her companions’ lives. She continued to use this method to bring her unconscious teammates out from the dirt terrain one by one.

Lu Yi, Jie, Xu Haowen, two other crew members, and finally Gu Fan, were all successfully rescued. However, they were barely hanging on and terribly injured.

Ignoring the drain on her supernatural power, Lin Xi used her spellcasting to heal the six of them. She collapsed from exhaustion shortly afterward, collapsing onto the ground.

It felt unbelievable to have survived the landslide. If they hadn’t been so drained, they all would have cried out in joy and hugged each other.

Lu Yi laughed, "My God, we’re really lucky, this is unbelievable."

"Yes, a blessing in a big way." Gu Fan laughed heartily, relieved. When he had been buried under the debris, fighting for breath, he thought his luck had finally run out.

Gu Fan was profoundly grateful to Lin Xi for saving his life. He pushed himself to sit up and looked at Lin Xi who appeared to be equally exhausted. They exchanged a look and couldn’t help but laugh together.

At that moment, the winds and the rain ceased. The clouds dispersed, and sunshine bathed them all, everyone felt warmth on their skin.

After resting for about an hour, they recovered enough to move on their scheduled path. Due to the landslide, they had been diverted from their intended route and now had to climb back.

When they reached their previous location, they were taken aback by the sight of a monument that had been uncovered by the landslide. It bore an odd-looking script, closely resembling the ancient super-civilization writings found on the floating islands of Yuxueyun Mountain.

Gu Fan touched it and realized despite its stone-like appearance, it had a metallic texture. This material was unique to ancient super-civilization.

Lu Yi couldn’t help but remark, "Strange, how could there be something from the ancient super-civilization here?"

Gu Fan shrugged. "I’m not sure. Plus, we can’t even understand what’s written on it. The discovery seems pointless."

"Regardless of whether it’s useful or not, let’s take a picture of it," Lin Xi suggested as she took out her phone. The others followed suit, hoping the images might come in handy in the future.

Gu Fan frowned, studying the inscriptions intently. Even if he could decipher even the slightest bit, it might form a significant clue.

Suddenly, Su Hui pointed out a detail " Look at the top right corner of the monument."

Everyone looked and was astounded by the symbol of a phoenix spreading its wings. The phoenix’s body was shaped like an ’Xuan’, the emblem unique to the Shennv Xuanhui.

The monument seemed pretty old, and the dirt that had concealed it didn’t appear recent. So, it couldn’t have been Qian Feng’s doing.

Lin Xi surmised that it must have been a marker left by Qian Qing during their treasure hunt expedition in the Triangle Sea Area.

This odd coincidence suggested that fate might have led them to this island where they encountered primitive humans, were pursued, and finally discovered this monument.

Lin Xi gently rested her hand on the monument, hoping stupidly that Qian Qing might have left some sort of imprint on it.

She was disappointed when she felt nothing. There was no sign left by Qian Qing on the monument, implying that they had merely stumbled upon an insignificant clue.

Gu Fan started pondering if Qian Qing had found something significant during her exploration that led her to discover the Destiny Stone. He suspected this monument could be a cardinal piece of the puzzle.

Removing the map from his bag, Gu Fan compared it to the monument, hoping to notice a similarity. After scrutinizing it for a while, he didn’t notice anything and couldn’t help but feel dispirited.

Lin Xi tried to comfort Gu Fan. "Don’t overthink this. We tried our best. Maybe one day, out of the blue, you’ll get an idea and solve this riddle."

"Really?" Gu Fan wasn’t sure, but he decided to heed Lin Xi’s advice and not push himself.

As they were preparing to move on, Gu Fan suddenly paused and said, "Wait a second!"

"What’s up?" All eyes were on Gu Fan, hoping he’d had a breakthrough.

Gu Fan asked, "Lin Xi, when you were Qian Ye, did you ever hear of the Triangle Sea Area?"

Lin Xi shook her head, "Communications weren’t great back then. I had no way to know of a place so far away. I’ve never heard of the Triangle Sea Area."

After hearing Lin Xi’s response, Gu Fan looked at the map again, "Yeah, if Qian Qing initially found this map, how did they figure out its location, which led them to the Triangle Sea Area? And how did they find that critical island in the Triangle Sea Area?"

"Yes, that’s true," Lin Xi also pondered. According to Qian Feng, they had found two maps at the original dwelling of the Eternal life Clan. One led to the Yuxueyun Mountains and the other to the Triangle Sea Area.

So how did the Eternal Life Clan come across the map? Gu Fan mused. Judging by the script on the map leading to Yuxueyun Mountain, Gu Fan imagined that the Eternal life Clan must have crafted it themselves after visiting the mountain.

What about the Triangle Sea Area map? Was it developed by the Eternal Life Clan, or had they discovered it during their expedition to the floating island of Yuxueyun Mountain?
