With azure sea and blue sky coupled with an agreeably mild climate, Gu Fan rode in the sunlight on a boat, relishing the sea breeze, listening to the seagulls chirping around him. As he saw the island off the coast drawing nearer and nearer, his heart started to flutter.

"We’re here!" The boat touched the shore, and, just like the other tourists, Gu Fan stepped onto the island, immediately absorbing the joyous atmosphere.

On the beach, people were chasing each other, laughing, and some were even having a photoshoot. Despite being crowded, it was not congested and seemed like an ideal holiday spot.

However, Gu Fan wasn’t here for a holiday. He had business to tend to. First, he checked into the pre-booked hotel and put his luggage in the room. Then, he started touring the island.

The island was of moderate size, taking about five hours to circle on foot. Gu Fan walked along the coast, observing and searching.

The information Liu Yao provided was that Leng Le had a restaurant on the island, but Liu Yao didn’t know the name.

Every place he checked wasn’t the one. Whenever Gu Fan would get tired, he would rest for a short period, have some water and a snack, sometimes enjoy sightseeing, listening to the waves of the sea.

It was a completely strange place. Seeing tourists from all over the world congregate in one place, hearing all kinds of languages, Gu Fan was distressed. It was impossible to communicate.

Despite this, Gu Fan didn’t give up and decided to try an approach. He took out a picture of Leng Le and approached a store, gesturing to indicate if they had seen the woman in the picture.

Anyone with average intelligence could tell Gu Fan was searching for the woman in the picture, but many people expressed that they had not seen her. Gu Fan felt like finding a needle in a haystack.

This island was a popular tourist holy land, and there were thousands of restaurants lined up. With no specific knowledge about the location or the name of the restaurant, all Gu Fan could do was search every single one of them.

Gu Fan realized this method was time-consuming, and if he managed to find Leng Le’s restaurant but she was not there, they might just miss each other.

But this didn’t mean there wasn’t hope. With Leng Le’s charm, she was bound to catch people’s attention. Even if she wasn’t in the restaurant, or her employees chose to keep her whereabouts a secret, people nearby would have surely seen Leng Le and might provide clues.

After searching for what seemed like an eternity, Gu Fan felt tired and took a seat. Accidentally glancing behind, he saw a woman stiffen slightly as if taken by surprise then pretend to act naturally and walk away.

Gu Fan didn’t pay much attention to this. He had a drink, some food, and then sent a message to Liu Yao to ask for some help, to ask Leng Le which restaurant was hers.

Liu Yao refused, stating it would be a betrayal to Leng Le. If Liu Yao asked about the restaurant and then informed Gu Fan, and shortly after, Gu Fan found Leng Le, it would make Leng Le doubt Liu Yao were tipping him off, causing Leng Le to lose trust in her friend.

Even though Liu Yao’s refusal seemed justified, Gu Fan had a bitter smile, as Liu Yao might not realize that she was the one being deceived.

"No choice but to rely on myself then," Gu Fan stood up, stretched and entered a store to try his luck.

Gu Fan was indeed unlucky. No one in there had seen Leng Le, and they spent a while staring at the picture, not confirming, but rather admiring the beautiful woman in the picture.

"Are you really here?" Gu Fan gathered up his disappointment. He didn’t leave from the shop’s front door; instead, he exited from the back and unexpectedly ended up in a dead-end alley.

Having no other option, Gu Fan retraced his steps back towards the store, planning to exit from the front and return to his initial route.

Just as Gu Fan was approaching the store, he saw a woman come out from the back door, glance around, and make eye contact with him. The woman quickly averted her eyes and calmly walked past him.

Gu Fan didn’t mind, entered through the back door of the shop, exited through the front, and quickly found a corner to hide.

Just as Gu Fan predicted, the woman he ran into earlier quickly exited from the front door, looking around for something. If she like Gu Fan had wandered into the dead-end and was retracing her steps, she wouldn’t have done so this quickly. So, Gu Fan deduced that the woman was following him.

"Not bad, it seems you’re indeed here," Gu Fan hypothesized that the woman must be Leng Le’s associate, and she probably started tailing him the moment he stepped onto the island.

Gu Fan thought for a moment then decided to show up right in front of the woman and casually walked past her, appearing as an ordinary passerby, not raising any suspicions.

The woman, seeing Gu Fan, quickly moved in his direction.

"As I thought!" While pretending to look at some goods, Gu Fan glanced back momentarily and saw her tailing closely, affirming his suspicion once again.

So, Gu Fan scrapped the plan of going from one place to another in search of Leng Le and decided to rent a house near the beach and stay there. Du Jun was funding his expenses, so he had no care for cost and enjoyed living extravagantly.

After nightfall, Gu Fan installed a pinhole camera at his place and went out to enjoy a bonfire party showing a performance. His first step was not to alert Leng Le and the second was to wait for her to take the bait.

After waiting for some time, Gu Fan wasn’t disappointed. He saw a suspicious vehicle approaching his place on his mobile video. They seemed to know he was not around, and they skillfully unlocked his door. Gu Fan guessed these people must be here to install surveillance.

"This is just like you, Leng Le." Gu Fan didn’t rush but continued to watch the performance, knowing he was being watched. He had to act as if nothing was amiss.

Thinking the timing was right, Gu Fan headed back home, and the team had left his place. As soon as he entered the house, he acted as if nothing had happened and went to bed.

They thought they had acted without alerting anyone. They returned to a restaurant, entered, and respectfully greeted a slender figure, "Sister Leng, everything you instructed us to do is done."

"Very good, you all may leave now." Leng Le said, looking at the video on her mobile with a smirk on her face.

The next day, dawn had just broken, Leng Le got up, walked to the living room, stretched and yawned, and then heard a familiar voice, "Finally up, my ex-girlfriend."
