An hour later, Gu Chuanshan walked out of the restaurant with a troubled look on his face. Luo Jingrong followed him and said nonchalantly, "I’ve told you everything I know, believe it or not. But you still can’t go back on your word."

"Don’t worry, I always keep my word. You’ll get your share." With that, Gu Chuanshan turned and walked away without giving Luo Jingrong another look.

Watching Gu Chuanshan’s heavy steps, Luo Jingrong couldn’t help but smile: "A father has his secrets, a son has his secret, how interesting. Somehow I feel like the real drama is about to begin."

Soon after, Gu Chuanshan arrived at the market. Seeing his wife waiting for him at the agreed place, she looked rather impatient.

Upon seeing their parents, Gu Ling started to smile: "Mom, Dad, why didn’t you tell us you were coming?"

"Why should we announce our arrival to our own home? If we weren’t cooking something nice for you, would we have traveled all this way?" Gu Fan’s mother, Mei Fang, reprimanded, but her doting love was clear. She even pinched Gu Ling’s nose.

Gu Ling was a bit annoyed: "Mom, why do you still treat me like a child?"

At this point, Gu Fan also chimed in: "Yeah mom, didn’t you say that I’m not a child anymore, that I should be independent, so you let me live on my own."

Upon hearing this, Gu Chuanshan quickly responded: "Exactly. If you hadn’t reminded us, we would have forgotten. Gu Fan, you should continue to be independent. As for Gu Ling, you can come back with us, so you won’t disturb your brother’s independence."

Seeing that things were going south, Gu Fan quickly tried to console her: "Of course not, I’d miss you too much for that. I just want you to have the best care, so you should move back home and let mom and dad take care of you."

Gu Ling gave a contemptuous look: "But mom and dad are always abroad, there’s no one at home! Who’s going to take care of me? Hasn’t my dear brother thought of that?"

Gu Fan then replied: "But if mom and dad asked you to move back home, it mean they’ve taken that into consideration. So, you should move back."

"No, I won’t." Gu Ling sulked. Gu Fan was left with a headache and their parents were left in a difficult position.

Upon thinking, Gu Chuanshan finally spoke: "You’re right, I want you two to both have the ability to live independently. So, one of you should live at home and one in the old house. This way you can best learn to live independently. Gu Ling, you’ve been living in the old house and relying on your brother, how is that independence?"

After hearing this, Gu Fan kept nodding: "Dad, you’re absolutely right! I completely agree."

"Shut up, and don’t add more chaos." After saying this, Gu Chuanshan slapped Gu Fan on the back of the head, leaving him bewildered.

Now Gu Ling, faced with the convincing argument of her family, was feeling pretty unhappy. She pouted and said: "Mom, Dad, do you guys want me to move out so badly? Is there something else going on? Don’t forget what your daughter is good at."

At this point, Gu Ling didn’t want to talk anymore and sulked while eating snacks and watching TV.

Seeing the situation stall, Mei Fang pulled Gu Chuanshan aside and whispered: "What should we do! It looks like we can’t convince Gu Ling to come back. Unless we ask Gu Fan to move back too."

Gu Chuanshan sighed heavily: "I didn’t expect things to turn out this way, it seems that’s the only option we have now."
