She didn’t know how long it was, feeling as if she had just woken from a long and yet vague dream. When Lin Xi slowly came to, she found herself lying in a blanket of snow. Surprised, she immediately surveyed her surroundings and discovered she was on Yuxueyun Mountain.

"It seems I managed to escape alive," Lin Xi sighed a breath of relief, slowly lifting herself despite feeling sore all over. She remembered the harsh impact she had suffered and was almost unable to endure.

"I wonder how Gu Fan and Sister Su are, I hope everyone is alright." Lin Xi was a little worried. She cast a spell to ease her discomfort before struggling to stand up. Brushing off the snow from her clothes, she began to walk down the mountain.

After navigating for nearly an hour, Lin Xi’s stomach growled. Despite her strength, she still needed to eat and was feeling uncomfortable due to hunger. Pressing her famished belly, she continued on her way.

"Oh God, just my luck. Barely making it out alive, am I now going to starve halfway? Gu Fan, you heartless man" Lin Xi spotted a small wooden hut at the foot of the mountain not far ahead, instantly seeing a glimmer of hope. She quickened her pace towards it.

Upon entering, Lin Xi was taken aback by the familiar figure leaning against the door frame. His arms crossed, a mild smirk on his face, as if he had been eagerly waiting for quite some time.

"It’s been a while, glad to see you’re okay," Gu Fan smiled. He was looking at Lin Xi and smiling.

Lin Xi also smiled and approached, asking, "What are you doing here? Are you alone? Where is Sister Su and the others?"

"I asked them to leave first, I needed some time alone, so I stayed behind." After finishing his words, Gu Fan gave a wry smile as if helpless.

Noticing Gu Fan’s troubled look, Lin Xi asked, "What’s wrong? Are having problems in your love life?"

"Yes, you got me." Gu Fan shrugged, making another painful smile: "I just recently discovered that my girlfriend Leng Le was actually a spy sent by the enemy. She got close to me, used me, and finally abandoned me."

Lin Xi put on a sympathetic face: "It seems you’re pretty miserable."

Gu Fan responded, "Do you know what’s the worst part? It’s not the first time. It happened in the foreign region, it’s happening again here in Yuxueyun Mountain. I’m thinking about what I did wrong. I’ve given everything for my girlfriends, but the outcome has always ended painfully for me. Why am I always the one hurt? Did I owe them something in the past life?" Gu Fan’s eyes showed no discouragement or impact, he just stared blankly at Lin Xi before saying, "Originally, I planned never to believe in love again, never to believe in women again."

Lin Xi frowned: "Does that mean you are considering changing your orientation? Even though Lu Yi is your best mate, I really don’t recommend it."

In response, Gu Fan shook his head, "I’m not fond of men, it’s just that you women hurt me so much. I believe that if I want to recover, I need to pick up where I fell."

Lin Xi looked puzzled, "What do you mean?"

"Did you know that I’ve been waiting for you here for days? For exactly three days. I knew you would come, so I waited." As Gu Fan said these words, his eyes were fixed on Lin Xi as if confessing something from his heart. Lin Xi also noticed and felt secretly delighted. In order to cover it up, she diverted her gaze from Gu Fan and pretended to enjoy the scenery.

Gu Fan continued, "A friend told me the things that happened in the foreign land were not entirely what I thought. There was much I didn’t know. This friend told me that because I didn’t wait a little more, I missed someone very important."

"I once thought I would lose that important person. But when I found out I still had a chance to get her back, I refused to give up, so I decided to wait." After saying this, Gu Fan reached out and held Lin Xi’s hand. He looked regretful as he declared, "I’m sorry, it was my fault. I should’ve believed in you, I should’ve waited for you a little more."

Lin Xi responded with a slight smile, "You can’t entirely blame yourself. I saw that you sent so many messages, made so many calls. I knew you were desperate, but I didn’t answer. It’s my fault for letting you lose hope."

"So, you have forgiven me." Gu Fan was thrilled and prepared to embrace the beauty before him, only for Lin Xi to dodge away. She smirked mischievously, "Even though our misunderstanding has been cleared, you still gave up first, so I haven’t accepted your apology yet."

"What do you mean? We broke up, it was all my fault. You want me to court you again?" Gu Fan looked somewhat distressed, not wanting things to be so complicated.

Hearing this, Lin Xi nodded approvingly, "Good idea, please court me once again. But remember, I’m not the same Lin Xi I used to be. So, the difficulty of winning me over this time will be much higher. Prepare yourself."

"What kind of preparation? I’ll pursue you right now. Just come into my arms." Gu Fan wouldn’t let Lin Xi have her way. He planned to rush towards her and embrace her.

As Lin Xi ran she yelled, "That’s not how you’re supposed to court me. You can’t just force me!"

Regardless, Gu Fan desperately chased after Lin Xi. Lin Xi just mockingly ran a bit before letting herself be caught by Gu Fan.

In this vast white world, the two people once again embraced. A familiar and long-lost feeling surged within them.

The two of them reconciled and got back together. The atmosphere was wonderful, but then Lin Xi’s stomach unceremoniously growled, making her face show a hint of embarrassment.

Gu Fan smiled, leading Lin Xi into the wooden hut, and supplied her with food and water.

Lin Xi was quite surprised, "How come there’s so much here? Did Sister Su and the others leave this for you?"

In response, Gu Fan nodded, "They left whatever they could from their food and water supplies, so I could wait for a few more days. They should already have called for help and returned safely by now."

Lin Xi simply responded with "oh". She originally wanted to tell Gu Fan about the Shennv Xuanhui, but then decided against it. There was no need to worry Gu Fan. They’d barely escaped, they should just let go of all worries for the time being.

However, Lin Xi knew that the people from Shennv Xuanhui would eventually find them. Watching Gu Fan prepare food and water, Lin Xi silently vowed to protect him. She would do her best to keep troubles far away from Gu Fan.
