Another fine day dawned and, according to old man Tian’s advice, they were to make tracks as much as possible before the next blizzard took hold. Otherwise, who knew how long they might be delayed once the storm hit.

As everyone packed up for the new journey, Gu Fan stole a glance at Ning Qi, only to find her looking surreptitiously back at him. Their eyes met, then quickly darted away, as if they both felt guilty.

Given the previous night’s intimacy, it should be a clear indication for them to become officiate their relationship. But neither Gu Fan nor Ning Qi acknowledged it.

However, Gu Fan knew whether that wonderful moment was real or not, and he had a way of finding out.

While the party was moving, Gu Fan intentionally lingered behind to observe. He soon noticed Hu Bo subtly turning his head towards Ning Qi, likely sneaking peeks at her.

As they walked, Gu Fan saw Deng Wenli also slightly turning his head, causing him to sigh inwardly, realizing how far Ning Qi’s influence extended.

Gu Fan recalls a recent conversation with Hu Bo, where he confessed his relationship with Ning Qi. It had ended due to their mismatched social statuses, but Hu Bo still harbored deep feelings for her.

"Hu Bo, oh Hu Bo, your beloved woman just recently shared a wonderful memory with me. I wonder how you’d feel about that," Gu Fan didn’t dare discuss this matter with Hu Bo, but he couldn’t help contemplating. Gu Fan felt if Hu Bo knew, he might not accept it, and it could even lead to a duel between the two.

Gu Fan wondered if Hu Bo still loved Ning Qi, then did he also think that Ning Qi loved him? It might be the reason why Hu Bo was joining her on this adventure.

Assuming, Ning Qi also confessed she hasn’t moved on from her feelings for Hu Bo, then why did she choose to share an intimate moment with Gu Fan last night? Gu Fan questioned.

At that moment, Gu Fan noticed an unusual behavior from Deng Wenli as he shifted his head in Ning Qi’s direction. Gu Fan was rendered speechless, secretly wondering if Deng Wenli also had a relationship with Ning Qi.

Gu Fan had to play dumb, pretending not to know anything while behaving as clueless as Hu Bo and Deng Wenli. So, he sent a sneaky text message to Ning Qi, containing sweet nothings about their relationship.

Unsurprisingly, Ning Qi didn’t disappoint and quickly rebutted with a message, further confirming their relationship.

"Oh my goodness." Gu Fan was speechless once more. He silently admired Ning Qi’s skills at playing the game, attracting men with her beauty, and creating an enchanting atmosphere that had them all falling for her.

Gu Fan had been with quite a few beauties, even had Lin Xi and Leng Le as his girlfriends. Still, he believes if he wasn’t cautionary and figured out Ning Qi’s plan from the start, he might have fallen for her as well.

After most of the day spent travelling, everyone arrived at another cabin and began cleaning up, starting a fire, laying out sleeping bags, eating, and so on. After a bustling evening, night finally arrived.

Everyone went to sleep, while those assigned to night watch had to stay alert for everyone’s safety.

However, tonight’s watch was unusually. Ning Qi went outside, seemingly to admire the night sky, and the person assigned as the hunting supervisor followed her, leaving behind their duties, going outside, and even further afield.

The supervisor held Ning Qi’s hand from behind, as if he deeply loved her.

Ning Qi smiled, looking sincerely happy and returned the supervisor’s loving gaze.

Underneath the night sky, on the snowy ground, the two flirted while Gu Fan concealed his presence in the cabin yard, watching them through his binoculars. He sighed to himself thinking, "Fortunately, I didn’t fall for her and did not invest my genuine feelings. Otherwise, it could have been disastrous. Just how many people do you intend to harm, Ning Qi?"

Gu Fan knew that Ning Qi and the supervisor were assigned for the second half of the night watch. It made him uneasy. Thus, he set a vibrating alarm to wake him up at a certain time.

When Gu Fan woke up, he saw no traces of Ning Qi in the cabin nor in the yard, indicating something was amiss. Hence, he grabbed his binoculars and traced their path.

Although Gu Fan knew Ning Qi had Hu Bo and Deng Wenli wrapped around her finger, he didn’t expect the supervisor to be deceived too. It meant that if Ning Qi ever breached hunting regulations, the supervisor would likely turn a blind eye.

Seeing Ning Qi return, Gu Fan quickly made himself scarce, went back to the cabin, then into his sleeping bag, pretending to be asleep. He then heard the rustling sound of Ning Qi entering the cabin.

"I wonder what the expression on your faces will be when you discover Ning Qi’s true nature." Gu Fan felt a little sorry for Hu Bo and Deng Wenli. Being manipulated by a woman might suggest that Ning Qi was too crafty.

"Wait a minute, it’s just a hunting trip. Why is Ning Qi ensnaring all men in her seductive net? What is she trying to achieve?" Gu Fan believed that as beautiful as she was, Ning Qi would have discerning tastes and not give every man a taste of romance. Yet, Ning Qi did just that, indicating she might have a bigger plan that required all men to cooperate obediently.

"I’m always one step ahead of you." Gu Fan smiled wryly, glancing at the messages he and Ning Qi exchanged on his phone.

Gu Fan was thinking whether he should have a public display of affection with Ning Qi when they set off the next day. He imagined the interesting reactions from Ning Qi – who could either resist or comply – and the priceless expressions of Hu Bo and Deng Wenli.

On second thought, Gu Fan felt it was a bit excessive. He wasn’t ready to expose Ning Qi’s antics yet. He wanted to watch for how long Ning Qi could keep juggling. Plus, there was a chance that Hu Bo and Deng Wenli might discover her real intentions, thereby eliminating the need for Gu Fan’s unnecessary actions.

Gu Fan felt he had now captured a secret of Ning Qi, which gave him the upper hand. Should a conflict arise, Gu Fan was ready to use this secret ammunition.

"Alright, you play your part, I’ll play mine. We’ll see who’s better at the charade," Gu Fan smirked. The thought suddenly reminded him of his official girlfriend, Leng Le. He wondered how she was faring under the big boss, whether she had undergone any hardships, how her mental health was, and if she had lost weight.

"Leng Le, I hope you’re safe. I hope that everything I’m doing for you is worth it," Gu Fan sighed quietly before closing his eyes and retaining his energy. They were closing in the course Ning Qi and her party were to embark on. Perhaps Gu Fan would finally discover their ultimate goal soon.
