When Su Hui got off work, she immediately noticed Gu Fan lying lethargically on the couch, a look of worry on his face. This immediately alerted her to the fact that something bad had happened.

Concerned, she asked, "What’s wrong? Weren’t you supposed to meet Lin Xi? What happened? Did you two have another fight?"

Gu Fan just shook his head, "We didn’t fight. She didn’t even give me a chance to argue."

"What do you mean?" Su Hui was worried about Gu Fan; she had rarely seen him look so defeated.

Gu Fan sighed, "I was trying to help Lin Xi by giving her the blueprint and piecing it together for her. Instead of being grateful, she knocked me out, took the blueprint and left."

"No way, that’s so ungrateful!" Su Hui felt indignant for Gu Fan.

Gu Fan gave a bitter laugh, "That’s not even the worst part. When I woke up, the big boss had come looking for me."

Hearing this, Su Hui looked alarmed, "Good lord, you didn’t get torn to pieces by that devil did you? We have offended him quite a bit before."

"I too thought I was done for. However, to my surprise, that devil decided to spare me," Gu Fan recalled, rubbing his temples in pain. He then added, "But there was a condition... I have to catch up with Lin Xi. Whatever she discovers with that blueprint, I have to get."

Worried, Su Hui frowned and pointed out, "Based on the fact that you came back without missing a limb, I’m assuming you agreed."

Gu Fan nodded, "Firstly, my life is in that devil’s hands and secondly, so is Leng Le’s. I had no choice but to agree."

"You are really having a tough time. Dumped by your ex after she used you, and your current girlfriend is being held hostage. Seems like you’re doomed to be controlled by women in this life," Su Hui joked, finally giving Gu Fan the opportunity to roll his eyes at her.

"Enough Sister Su. You don’t have to keep emphasizing how bad the situation is for me. I’m just working on figuring out how to catch up with Lin Xi," Gu Fan said, looking worried. Su Hui stopped her poking fun and playfully patted his shoulder in apology, "Don’t worry. Seeing how you’ve helped me out before, I won’t abandon you either. I’ll take a long leave and accompany you."

"Thank you, Sister Su," Gu Fan accepted her offer without any argument. They had helped each other to come this far. Rejecting Su Hui’s generous offer would have been inappropriate.

Su Hui then asked, "So, do you know where Lin Xi might have gone? After all, she took the blueprint."

"I have some idea," Gu Fan pulled out a piece of paper with four words written on it — ’Yuxueyun Mountain!’

"This mountain... I’ve heard it’s located in the north. What about it?" Su Hui asked curiously, to which Gu Fan replied solemnly, "When the four blueprints were pieced together, they formed a map of a mountain with these four words written on it. I believe that’s where Lin Xi is headed."

Su Hui frowned deeply, "So you’re suspecting that Yuxueyun Mountain has something to do with the Eternal Life Clan."

Gu Fan nodded, "The blueprints also contained the date, location, and people involved. I have reason to believe that Yuxueyun Mountain is that location. Lin Xi will undoubtedly go there, and so must I."

"That place is very cold. We should prepare more supplies. This could be even more challenging than our last expedition into the Outer Regions," Su Hui voiced her concern. And Gu Fan was worried too. How were they going to take on the well-equipped Lin Xi, Du Jun and their crew by themselves?

Su Hui asked another question: "What about Lu Yi and the others? Don’t you plan on telling them?"

Gu Fan shook his head: "I don’t know what dangers we’ll encounter this time. I don’t want to involve them. Besides, their skills are subpar; they might just slow us down."

"Just the two of us might not be able to handle Lin Xi," Su Hui mused. The doorbell rang suddenly, startling both Gu Fan and Su Hui. They wondered who could be visiting at such an hour.

When Gu Fan opened the door, he saw Xu Haowen came rushing inside, followed by Lu Yi and Jie.

"What brings you guys here?" Gu Fan was perplexed. Something must have happened for all of them to visit together.

As it turned out, Xu Haowen had invited Lu Yi and Jie to observe some archaeological research and look at some antiques. Everything was going well until Professor Luo called Xu Haowen, asking about Qin Jia’s sudden need to leave for an extended period.

Feeling that something was amiss, Xu Haowen rushed to find Gu Fan, hoping that he might know something.

Gu Fan decided to disclose the truth to them, he revealed the details about Qin Jia accompanying Du Jun and Lin Xi on their expedition, he also told them about his own plans to pursue Lin Xi.

"No way! The great adventure I’ve been waiting for has arrived. You promised to include me, Gu Fan. You can’t break that promise. I want to go with you," Xu Haowen was determined. After their previous experiences, he found himself longing for another adventure.

However, Gu Fan seemed hesitant: "This is actually a personal grudge between Lin Xi and me. Moreover, the devil is holding my girlfriend hostage. It’s not necessary for you all to risk yourselves."

"You can’t do this. I am definitely going, and you must take me," insisted Xu Haowen. He was so adamant that it gave Gu Fan a headache.

Lu Yi sighed, "Good times or bad, you can’t run from your destiny. Jie and I will accompany you."

Gu Fan looked at him, eyebrows furrowed, "Seriously? After the last Outer Region expedition, you said you never wanted to be part of anything like this again."

Jie shrugged, "Can’t help it. Even though we’re just friends, you help me out when I’m in trouble; I should do the same for you. Besides, we’ve been part of this since the very beginning. If we have to move forward, we’ll do so together. If we have to retreat, we’ll do so together."

Lu Yi also chimed in, "Ever since I saved Old Xing, I’ve felt some things are just destined to happen. So, I’ll go with you. Besides, even Xu Haowen is going. As friends who have been through life and death situations together, how can we just abandon you?"

Feeling deeply moved, Gu Fan truly appreciated his friends. The expedition to the Outer Regions had truly cemented their friendship.

Just as the guys were rallying their resolves, Su Hui came over with her phone, smiling faintly, "Sorry to interrupt. We’re adding one more person to our team. Zhuo Hang says he doesn’t trust me going alone, so he is coming too."

Lu Yi was quick to welcome him, "Great, welcome! Our team just got stronger."
