Seeing Gu Fan’s robust body and masculine physique, Leng Le muttered under her breath, "You little punk, didn’t expect you to have a six-pack. Impressive."

Gu Fan approached Leng Le, stared into her eyes, then said, "Today is a weekend; I’m not going to school, and you shouldn’t go to work, either. Stay here with me, will you?"

Leng Le thought to herself, "What does he mean? Stay with him for two days? What does he want to do?"

However, Leng Le misunderstood; Gu Fan merely wished to take care of her wholeheartedly and get to know her even more. That was why he hoped they could spend the next two days under the same roof.

"Give me some time to think it over," Leng Le responded earnestly.

"Alright, I’ll give you time. I’ll go grab breakfast for you." Gu Fan excitedly dashed downstairs, hardly concealing his joy.

Leng Le couldn’t help but laugh, "Look at you, I haven’t agreed yet!"

After finishing her grooming routine, Leng Le sat on the living room couch watching TV, contemplating how to reject Gu Fan in the least hurtful way when he returned.

Leng Le’s objective was to get close to Gu Fan and gather useful information, but she didn’t want to get herself involved, so rejection was key.

After half an hour, Gu Fan walked in with a large bag full of delicious food, inviting Leng Le to join him.

Seeing all the food, Leng Le couldn’t help but exclaim, "Oh my goodness, there’s so much! Are you trying to fatten me up? I guess I can say goodbye to my figure."

"Don’t worry, no matter what shape you’re in, I’ll always find you attractive." Gu Fan grinned, gazing at Leng Le with pure infatuation, completely lost in his own world.

Feeling uncomfortable under Gu Fan’s intense gaze, Leng Le quietly finished her breakfast, thinking of an excuse to leave, like being called away for work. The list of valid reasons was long.

However, a text message changed her mind. She laughed and proposed, "How about this, I can’t neglect my work to keep you company, so I’ll stay with you for just one day."

"Okay, one day it is," Gu Fan responded enthusiastically.

In Gu Fan’s eyes, one day was enough to show Leng Le his best side. So he suggested going to the market to buy ingredients, planning to prepare a lavish lunch for Leng Le to demonstrate what a good man who could cook looked like.

Leng Le naturally accompanied Gu Fan to the market. To her surprise, Gu Fan was quite adept at haggling, a skill she didn’t know where he had learned.

In response to her surprise, Gu Fan explained that before he moved out on his own, Gu Fan’s mom used to take him to the market every day, teaching him lots of tips and tricks on how to bargain—a practical skill in daily life.

By noon, Gu Fan was busily preparing food in the kitchen, doing this, doing that, trying his best to give Leng Le a favourable impression of him.

Leng Le could tell that Gu Fan wanted to be a competent boyfriend, eager to take on the responsibilities of a man.

"If not for my position, I might actually choose you." Leng Le was shocked by her own thoughts. How could she have such a ridiculous thought? She came to approach Gu Fan, not to offer any genuine feelings.

"No, no, it’s just a little something. I couldn’t possibly fall for him..." Leng Le was confident in her control over the situation when her belly rumbled. Pair this with the alluring aroma of food wafting out of the kitchen, and Leng Le could hardly wait to taste Gu Fan’s cooking.

When Gu Fan served the delicious meal he had prepared, Leng Le was pleasantly surprised by his culinary skills and savored every bite.

"Not bad at all, I didn’t expect you to be this talented in the kitchen," Leng Le said sincerely, shooting Gu Fan a tender look that even she herself didn’t realize.

Following this, Gu Fan and Leng Le spent time exploring the city, laughing and joking around. Though Leng Le was only playing her part, while Gu Fan was genuinely invested.

However, when Gu Fan took Leng Le to a crowded place and accidentally got separated, Leng Le felt frustrated. Despite having made a good impression, she was disappointed to be left alone and wondered what Gu Fan was up to.

Yet, when Gu Fan suddenly appeared behind her with a bouquet of flowers, Leng Le was both surprised and delighted. Part of her delight was feigned, she needed Gu Fan to believe that everything was worth it and to put in more effort.

What Leng Le didn’t know was that deep down, her heart had raced. A long-absent feeling surged within her, but it was fleeting. Leng Le’s heart was still icy and indifferent, not willing to be easily moved for anyone.

By 8 p.m, they returned to Gu Fan’s place. Gu Fan was thrilled that Leng Le agreed to come back with him and thought highly of her.

Gu Fan decided to cherish this, unaware that Leng Le was internally struggling, weighing the pros and cons, and regretting her actions.

However, since she already agreed to come, and the door was now closed, it seemed she couldn’t escape. Leng Le sighed internally, feeling like a shy little girl who couldn’t fully commit to the situation.

Another night ended, and as the day began to break, Leng Le woke up and stretched, hearing car noises outside. A smirk appeared on her lips, the drama she had been eagerly anticipating was about to unfold.

"I’m home!" Su Hui entered the house carrying numerous bags, looking delighted. However, her joy quickly transformed into shock when she saw Leng Le descending the stairs, her clothes slightly disheveled.

As the two women stared at each other silently, the atmosphere grew tense. Gu Fan, upon hearing the commotion, knew that Su Hui had returned and his heart filled with panic.

When Gu Fan descended the stairs, he was met with questioning looks from both women, seemingly asking who the other woman was.

"I should get to work," Leng Le said, putting on a sullen expression, tidying her clothes, grabbing her bag, and leaving, leaving Gu Fan in an awkward predicament.

Su Hui squinted at Gu Fan. The scent of another woman permeated the house and Gu Fan appeared freshly awakened. She didn’t need to guess what had happened during her absence.

"Seems like you really enjoyed yourself while I was away, and found a new girlfriend," Su Hui said, causing Gu Fan to feel embarrassed. Gu Fan chuckled sheepishly, "Yeah, I happened to meet someone suitable and started dating."

Hearing his reply, Su Hui stiffened and responded, "Good for you. You should seize the opportunity." After uttering those words, Su Hui, seemingly calm, walked upstairs, passing Gu Fan without a glance.

Gu Fan sensed something was amiss when he heard the violent slamming of the upstairs door, sending chills down his spine.

For some reason, Gu Fan didn’t mind Su Hui’s seeing Lin Xi, but he was bothered by her seeing Leng Le. Why was that?

"This is so vexing!" Gu Fan scratched his head, deciding not to dwell on these troubles. His main concern was explaining to Leng Le why another beautiful woman was living in his apartment.

Little did Gu Fan know, a sly smile was creeping onto Leng Le’s face as she drove. She agreed to spend the day with Gu Fan because she knew Su Hui’s training had ended and was due to return home soon.

Leng Le’s real motive was to let Su Hui witness her unusual relationship with Gu Fan, in hopes of disrupting the delicate relationship between Su Hui and Gu Fan. If she could get Su Hui to move out of Gu Fan’s house and drift apart from him, she wouldn’t have to worry about them working together to foil her plans.

Leng Le knew that without Su Hui’s help, Gu Fan couldn’t achieve much. In other words, the Gu Fan and Su Hui duo posed a significant threat. If there was a chance to break this combination, Leng Le would gladly take it, despite making many sacrifices.

"Poor Su Hui, I wonder if you would still meddle in Gu Fan’s affairs," Leng Le mused, picturing Gu Fan’s face when he confronted Su Hui and couldn’t help but laugh. Rather than waiting for Lin Xi to appear, Su Hui had returned first, promising more intrigue.

"You’ll see, being with me won’t be so easy. Let’s take this slow," Leng Le sent a message to her subordinates asking about Lin Xi’s whereabouts. When no one responded, she suddenly felt a chill. She knew exactly what the lack of response meant.

"You really are back, aren’t you? Good, I thought you would hide for another half a year or so," Leng Le started feeling excited and eager, wanting to size up her actual strength against her opponent.
