Chapter 1586: This is a Trap

Chapter 1586: Chapter 1586: This is a Trap

Gu Fan and seven vampires followed the sound to a dark alley and saw a person in a trench coat gnawing at a woman like a wild beast, with a pool of blood on the ground.

On the other side, several people were lying on the ground, paralyzed with fear.

"Friend, I don’t know where you’re from, but you’ve come to the wrong place." Gu Fan gestured with his eyes for the seven vampires to help move the ordinary people to safety.

The person in the trench coat threw the woman aside, took out a handkerchief to wipe his mouth and even licked his lips, looking as if he still hadn’t had enough.

Gu Fan walked over directly, fearless now, and issued another stern warning: "You’re causing trouble in this city and sorry, but you’re not getting away tonight."

The trench-coated figure chuckled coldly, then turned around to face Gu Fan, the evil look on his face giving off more than just a sense of horror.

"You must be Gu Fan. I’m here to introduce myself. My name is Xue Heng, currently leading the entire Xue Clan, along with some vampires who insist on following the old ways. You can think of us as remnants of Organization X’s forces," Xue Heng said politely, not seeming like one who came looking for trouble.

Gu Fan had heard about this guy from Helen. Among the entire Xue Clan, Xue Wang is ranked first in strength, Xue Ba second, and so Xue Heng’s strength would be the third.

Knowing the other’s identity and considering his wanton behavior in this city, Gu Fan was sure of their enmity and that meant fighting was the course to take.

"Organization X is no more. You should have treasured your life instead of troubling mine," Gu Fan’s eyes flashed with a sharp color—he was about to make his move.

Xue Heng waved his finger nonchalantly: "Indeed, with your strength, Gu Fan, I’m no match, however, why don’t you guess why I dare come here to court death."

"An ambush?" Gu Fan glanced around, his body taut.

Suddenly, gunshots came from Helen’s direction, causing Gu Fan’s heart to jump, knowing it was a diversion and that he had been tricked.

Just as Gu Fan was about to leave, he heard Xue Heng say coldly: "Thinking of leaving? Do you think you can escape?"

The ordinary people who had been rescued suddenly curled their lips into cold sneers, pulled out wooden stakes, and stabbed at the vampires.

"Idiots, you trust others too easily." This was a premeditated attack; these seemingly ordinary people were all trained and only attacked with wooden stakes aimed precisely at the vampires’ critical points.

Three vampires caught off guard were pierced through the heart by wooden stakes and fell stiffly to the ground.

"Bastards!" The remaining four vampires immediately struck back in revenge for their comrades, blowing up all the enemies.

From the rooftops of the buildings on both sides of the dark alley, people who had been lying in ambush there began to move, jumping down, each dressed the same, each well-trained and well-equipped.

"You guys go first, I’ll cover!" Gu Fan knew he had fallen into a trap carefully laid by the enemy and immediately soared into the sky, moving at high speed.

Those who leaped down from the high places to launch an attack saw a dark figure surging towards them, and before they could react, they were sent flying, crashing into the buildings, and were outright eliminated.

Gu Fan wasn’t just leaping, but soared up, and from his high vantage point, observed the battlefield.

The enemy had already blocked off the dark alley, carrying a variety of weapons. Among them was a peculiar gun that didn’t fire bullets but a net instead. A dozen guns meant a dozen nets, enveloping the area from above.

Four vampires discovered their escape route was blocked and resorted to leaping across eaves and walls to flee. Sadly, one was still ensnared by the net and no matter how they struggled, escape was impossible. They could only desperately cry out, "Gu Fan, save me, save me!"

Seeing his subordinate under attack, Gu Fan didn’t care about the number of enemies or traps surrounding him, and dived straight down, fast as lightning.

"If you want to save someone, you’d better take care of yourself first." Xue Heng and an enemy stepped forward to intercept, both hurling their fists in confrontation.

Gu Fan snorted coldly, accelerating his descent and thrusting his fists down fiercely, trying to forcefully break through the obstacle.

Yet, unexpectedly, Xue Heng and the other enemy were incredibly strong, and together they managed to withstand Gu Fan’s high-velocity assault, even repelling him back into the sky.

"My god, such experts!" Gu Fan frowned deeply. Delayed by this, he was too late to save the vampire, who was helplessly killed amidst cries of despair.

Although the other three vampires narrowly escaped, they soon found themselves encircled by another group of enemies.

"They’ve repented and only seek a quiet life now. Do you understand the significance of their existence?" Angered, Gu Fan dived from the sky once more, exerting his full strength against the blockade of the two formidable foes.

Xue Heng smiled faintly and said to the other master, "Who would have thought we’d fight side by side one day."

"Indeed, I never imagined I would stand alongside you in battle, truly proving the saying: ’No eternal enemies, only eternal interests.’" The other master’s muscles swelled, appearing as formidable as a body of steel.

As Xue Heng and the other master readied themselves to face Gu Fan’s incoming strike,

suddenly the soaring Gu Fan shifted direction, swiftly sidestepping dozens of yards, avoiding a direct collision.

Time was of the essence in a rescue; Gu Fan had no time to waste with these adversaries – he needed to hasten to the vampires’ aid.

Had Gu Fan headed straight for the rescue, both Xue Heng and the other master would have surely blocked his path based on his movements.

Therefore, Gu Fan feigned an attack on Xue Heng and the other master, charging towards them to make the two stand their ground in wait for his assault.

Just as they were about to clash, Gu Fan abruptly changed direction to perform the rescue, making it too late for Xue Heng and the other master to intercept.

"Careful, Gu Fan is coming!" Xue Heng, unable to follow, quickly issued a warning.

The enemy, hearing the shout, looked back only to see a blur flash by, then they were knocked aside by a formidable force, smashing into walls or buildings, utterly defeated.

Gu Fan’s current strength was more than enough to handle these men with a single blow. And in a life or death battle, he showed no mercy. He wanted this fight to send a message to all would-be aggressors about the price they would pay.

Thanks to Gu Fan’s rescue, the three vampires were safe, and a good number of enemies had been slain. However, the most powerful among them, the leaders, were still alive.

As the trend went, more enemies appeared, including evil vampires and some ordinary warriors, progressively closing in on Gu Fan.
