Li Shi remembered Gu Fan saying the blue potion could counteract vampires; maybe it could also work against the mutated variants. If that were true, there was a strong possibility that Gu Fan had been captured by Organization X and forced to produce the potion.

Having been to the forbidden area, Ouyang Jin knew how scarce the blue potion was and that only Gu Fan had it, so he also surmised Gu Fan was likely in the hands of Organization X.

"What should we do? We need to rescue Gu Fan." Li Shi was suddenly very proactive, not at all like a delicate woman.

Li Shi and Ouyang Jin breathed a sigh of relief, then glanced at Muscleman and a tall man not far away; both appeared relieved as well.

Suddenly, the broadcast rang out: "Attention, attention, a mutant vampire has been discovered on the third floor, mutation detected on the third floor."

Everyone was bewildered upon hearing this, as they were just on the second floor, and hearts were filled with panic.

Personnel from Organization X immediately explained that the Tower of Darkness had previously been infiltrated by mutant vampires, and these were the residual few that they were currently clearing out. There was nothing to worry about, and the Tower of Darkness was now very secure.

Hearing this, everyone’s nerves settled down a bit. Suddenly, with a loud bang, the ceiling collapsed and the mutant vampire fell down, landing right into the dining hall where everyone was eating.

Li Shi immediately shouted, "It’s a mutant vampire, everyone run!" Then Li Shi and Ouyang Jin were the first to dash towards the exit.

The dining hall instantly descended into chaos as everyone’s eyes were wide open, rushing toward the exit.

Personnel from Organization X wanted to attack the mutant vampire, but helplessly, the crowd surged in a frenzy, and in the push and shove, it was really not an opportune moment to act.

The mutant vampire lunged at anyone in sight, biting them. The normal humans quickly turned into mutant vampires as well.

Yet, what Organization X never anticipated was that Li Shi and Ouyang Jin had mixed in with the refugees and entered the Tower of Darkness, Organization X’s stronghold, and then disguised themselves as members of Organization X.

After Organization X finished investigating the refugees, Li Shi and Ouyang Jin changed back into refugees and continued to blend in.

In simple terms, when Organization X inspected those in combat uniforms, Li Shi and Ouyang Jin pretended to be refugees, and when Organization X inspected the refugees, Li Shi and Ouyang Jin donned combat gear again.

After one round of investigation, Organization X certainly wouldn’t conduct a second review of those in combat outfits in a short time, and they also believed that the first inspection was very meticulous, with no chance of anyone slipping through the net.

Because Organization X was concerned about losing control of the situation and worried that the refugees might turn into mutant vampires, they ordered the restaurant area entrance and exit on the second floor to be opened. Thus, Li Shi, Ouyang Jin, and the others followed the surge of refugees, and successfully passed through the entrance and exit of the restaurant area on the second floor.

As a result, although many refugees left the restaurant area on the second floor, not a single one left the second floor itself, so Organization X did not pay much attention to this matter. Moreover, their focus was on dealing with four formidable foes, which provided Li Shi and Ouyang Jin a great opportunity.
