Chapter 1476: Chapter 1476: Seven Powerful Enemies

The battle at the Tower of Darkness continued through the day, but a group of people, driven by fear, fled the battlefield. They thought that with so many people around and the scene so chaotic, their desertion might go unnoticed.

This group sought refuge in Catherine’s nightclub, where they began to remove their gear and rest, secretly relieved that they weren’t foolish enough to die for Organization X.

Just then, the door was pushed open, and a stranger entered.

"Who’s there?" Everyone took up their weapons and aimed at the person at the door.

The masked stranger began to laugh coldly: "I was just wondering how to take out a few stragglers, and here you’ve delivered yourselves right to me. Perfect."

Some of the group had participated in several missions and had heard of this masked figure who had killed many from Organization X. They were instantly terrified.

The masked stranger wasted no breath, quickly took action, and wiped out the entire group.

Later, Leng Le arrived with her team and saw this scene, furrowing her brows, unsure of the masked stranger’s intentions.

The masked stranger noticed Leng Le’s confusion and responded, "Take off these people’s clothes and put them on. We’re going to infiltrate the Tower of Darkness."

Leng Le immediately asked, "Why are we heading to the Tower of Darkness? Didn’t you say you were going to lead us to gold, to make us rich?"

"Just go and you’ll see," replied the masked stranger indifferently, seemingly reluctant to explain further.

Some people were reluctant. The great battle was ongoing near the Tower of Darkness, a place no one dared approach.

"Follow my lead, and you’ll be safe. If anyone wants out, now’s the time. I won’t stop you," the masked stranger spoke without sentiment. Given the circumstances, no one dared to run and they had no choice but to follow.

Having no other option, everyone changed into the clothes, armed themselves, and waited for further instructions from the masked stranger.

"Let’s move!" Under the guidance of the masked stranger, they made their way through alleys, avoiding combat zones as much as possible.

Many were stunned by the bolts of lightning continuously cleaving through the sky, casting people aloft in explosions of dust—an intimidating sight.

Leng Le didn’t know what exactly was happening, but she had a feeling it involved Gu Fan. Given the masked stranger’s action, it seemed likely Gu Fan was also in Dark City.

Eventually, the group followed the masked stranger into what appeared to be an ordinary house. But the moment they entered and saw several large pits inside, they were shocked.

"What’s going on here?" asked Leng Le, surprised, then glanced at the masked stranger.

"Some people dug a secret tunnel here and used it to sneak into the Tower of Darkness," the masked stranger answered coolly.

"So, we are to enter the Tower of Darkness this way," said Leng Le while inspecting the room, noting that the pits seemed freshly dug.

How strange – if it was a newly dug tunnel, how did the masked stranger know about it?

Leng Le looked at the masked stranger with suspicion, hoping to glean something from his eyes.

However, the masked stranger said nothing further and led the way into the tunnel, with the others following suit, hearts heavy with apprehension.

The masked stranger led, and Leng Le brought up the rear, being the last to enter the underground passage.

Before entering, Leng Le looked out the window and saw crows swirling in the sky, diving repeatedly as if controlled in battle.

Leng Le remembered Lin Xi had the ability to control birds. Could it be Lin Xi had come to Dark City? If Lin Xi was here, Gu Fan must be here too, which could explain the masked stranger’s ultimate purpose. But the question remained – why was the masked stranger doing all this?

At that moment, near the front of the Tower of Darkness, the big boss rose again and re-entered the battlefield. With his formidable strength, supported by Lin Xi and Qian Feng, they disrupted the formations of Organization X.

But there were too many members of Organization X. No matter how they fought, it seemed impossible to reach the Tower of Darkness, and the strength of the four fighters began to wane.

From the top of the Tower of Darkness, Mo Yun watched the battle below, swirling his wine glass with a slight smile before sitting down and crossing his legs, his expression a mix between amusement and anticipation.

There were seven chairs in total, representing the seven most powerful members of Organization X, including Xue Wang, Lord Xiong, Zhuo Hang, and Mo Yun.

The other three, who seldom appeared unless absolutely necessary, were Ye Yue who also knew magic, Lie Kong, a traitor from the Hunter’s Guild and a skilled fighter, and Xue Ba, the second most powerful in the Xue Clan.

A fly buzzed across the battlefield, observing everything clearly, then relayed the visuals to Ye Yue, who shared the information with the other six via magic.

Seeing the big boss fight relentlessly through enemy ranks, invincible, Lord Xiong wasn’t sure how to feel.

Xue Ba could hardly contain himself: "Give the order, they are already tired. Seven against four, we’re sure to win. It might not be honorable, but who cares? This isn’t a fair fight anyway."

"There’s no question about the outcome. After we take out those four, Gu Fan, even with the Destiny Stone Body Guard, won’t pose any threat," declared Xue Wang with confidence, ready to wipe out all of Gu Fan’s allies, including Shennv Xuanhui, the Hunter’s Guild, and whatever this big boss was.

Mo Yun added, "All I see is Lin Xi, not Su Hui. We should be careful."

But Lie Kong was dismissive, "Careful of what? We’ve got the main gate secured; no one can get in. They can’t possibly rescue Gu Fan."

"We do need to be careful. With these people, you can’t apply normal reasoning," warned Lord Xiong. Having been burnt before, he became more cautious, perhaps even overly so.

Xue Wang stood up, his expression stern, "I don’t care what tricks they’re playing. I know one thing for sure: the Tower of Darkness must not fall into their hands. I won’t tolerate such an embarrassment. In today’s battle, I want the world to know one thing: those who dare invade my territory will not leave alive. I’m sure you’ve all chosen your targets; let’s move."

"Good luck to everyone," Ye Yue toasted before suddenly vanishing in a puff of black smoke.
