Chapter 1429: Chapter 1429: Revenge

"Damn, Master is in danger." Lin Yue’s heart raced, wanting to help, but he was intercepted by several vampires.

The Hunter’s Guild member clutched Lin Yue’s shoulder, "What are you doing, have you forgotten the mission you carry?"

"Of course I know, but..." How could Lin Yue stand by and watch his mentor in peril? Yet, as he was about to rush out, a determined look from the hunter stopped him. That look seemed to tell Lin Yue to survive, at all costs.

Seeing Lin Yue hesitate, a vampire thought it saw an opportunity and immediately pounced.

Lin Yue’s eyes turned cold, he moved swiftly, grabbing the vampire by the neck, then pinned it to the ground, and finished it off with a wooden stake.

"Don’t worry, Master, I know what I should do. I will survive and pass down Jian Shen’s swordsmanship and will." Lin Yue’s belief was unwavering as he then retreated back into the ranks.

Seeing Lin Yue’s actions, the hunter smiled approvingly and continued to wield his treasured sword in battle despite his weary and wounded body.

"I wonder how long you can hold out." Xue Wen and Xue Wu had used up all their daggers and also saw that the hunter could no longer stand steady, merely propping himself up with his sword, a picture of utter exhaustion.

Just then, Xue Long was sent flying with a punch, crashing to the ground looking beaten and swollen, a sight that invoked sympathy.

Xue Wen scoffed, "What’s the matter, Xue Long? It’s rare to see you like this. Need help?"

"Save your cooling remarks that serve no purpose for unity," Xue Long brushed the dirt off himself, stood up, and then noticed the hunter who seemed on the brink of collapse.

Xue Long hesitated for a moment, then a cold smirk appeared, "Gentlemen, consider this a favor owed to you both. Leave this guy to me; you two take care of the rest, alright?"

"So it’s a personal vendetta, is it? Well then, we’ll give you a favor." With that, Xue Wen and Xue Wu rushed toward the boss.

The hunter and Xue Long were now one-on-one, but the hunter was severely injured while Xue Long had regenerative abilities, virtually unscathed, an unfair contest, to say the least.

"Your master died by my hand, you too will die by my hand, and your disciple will follow. I said I’d end Jian Shen’s legacy today," Xue Long’s eyes grew more ferocious with each step he took, exuding an overwhelming presence.

"Good, I was worried you’d run away like last time." The hunter summoned endless fighting spirit, struggling to stand, sword grasped in both hands, ready to fight to the death.

In Xue Long’s eyes, the hunter’s current state was nothing but a death throes struggle. He powered forward, straight into the fray.

The hunter saw Xue Long’s move and reacted, but his body, hampered by injuries and exhaustion, slowed his swordplay considerably.

"You’re done!" Xue Long blasted the treasured sword out of the hunter’s hand with one punch and then struck him hard with another.

The hunter was knocked to the ground, his injuries worsening; he couldn’t get up anymore.

"You’re finished!" As Xue Long was about to deliver the killing blow to the hunter, he heard a sudden scream that sent chills down his spine, and he quickly turned around.

A member of the Xue Clan was being choked by the boss, his heart pierced by a wooden stake, and his skin quickly turned to an ashen color.

Don’t think that the big boss looked pitiable after being beaten up; his recovery ability was even superior to that of the Xue Clan, as he casually wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, with an indifferent expression on his face.

What irritated the Xue Clan even more was the big boss stepping on the corpse of one of their own, his eyes carrying a distinctly provocative meaning.

Xue Niu, Xue Wen, and Xue Wu were first shocked and then showed angry expressions. They were the noble Xue Clan, after all, who would not tolerate being trampled on.

"You will pay a painful price for your actions," Xue Niu had roared, only to see a fist thundering towards him.

"Make me pay a price with you lowly immortals, on what grounds?" The big boss sent Xue Niu flying with a punch, his aura growing more formidable, looking at the members of the Xue Clan with scorn in his eyes.

Xue Wen and Xue Wu were furious; they attacked together, pincering him from the left and right.

The big boss laughed wildly, facing the difficulties head-on, using his body to take the attacks of Xue Wen and Xue Wu. Injuries and pain could not quench his fighting spirit but made him fight more bravely and wildly.

"This guy!" Xue Wen and Xue Wu attacked dozens of times, landing solid blows on the big boss, but they also took many heavy hits from him. Their momentum was completely overshadowed by the big boss’s mad tactic of all attack, no defense.

"Don’t surrender so easily, where’s the fun in that?" The big boss punched, sending Xue Wen tumbling head over heels, his arrogance clear for all to see.

On the other side, Xue Long’s brow furrowed. Losing a member of the Xue Clan this time, who knew how big a fire the higher-ups would light? But as long as they could kill the hunter and the elite of the Hunter’s Guild, they could make amends for their error.

"Alright, I’ll send you on your way." Just as Xue Long was about to twist the hunter’s neck, he realized he couldn’t do it—the hunter still had strength to resist.

Suddenly, Xue Long heard a whistling sound from behind and violently remembered the hunter had the ability to control flying swords.

True enough, under the hunter’s control, the precious sword returned in flight, attacking towards Xue Long’s back.

With Xue Long’s reflexes, he could have evaded it, but the unexpected happened.

The hunter, who had appeared weak and like a lamb to the slaughter, mustered an unknown strength, grasping Xue Long’s hands, preventing his escape.

"You..." Xue Long saw the hunter’s sinister smile and instantly understood something—the hunter was really good at acting.

The flying sword was upon him in an instant, Xue Long’s one hand still gripping the hunter’s neck as he reached out to grab the flying sword with the other.

Xue Long could clearly feel the resistance from the hunter’s neck, which prevented him from quickly snapping it.

"I’m sorry, but you won’t be killing anyone today. You will die by my hand, and the will and swordsmanship of Jian Shen will continue to be passed down until your Organization X is utterly destroyed," said the hunter, and with a push of his palm, a wooden spike shot out from his sleeve—a secret weapon specially prepared to deal with the Xue Clan.

Everything happened too suddenly; Xue Long didn’t expect the hunter to have this move. Being careless and underestimating his opponent came with a price; his heart was pierced by the wooden spike.

Everyone watched this scene in stunned silence, Xue Long’s eyes filled with terror. Gradually, his skin turned a deathly gray, and he fell to his knees before the hunter.

The hunter’s expression was calm. He closed his eyes, lifted his face, and took a deep breath to calm the excitement in his heart: "Master, I have finally avenged you. I hope you can look down from heaven and bless the successor of Jian Shen."
