Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared
Chapter 1405: Pretending to Run Away

Chapter 1405: Chapter 1405: Pretending to Run Away

Dark City had gone into full alert, with members of Organization X patrolling everywhere, broadcasting a warning for residents not to go outside, claiming it was dangerous.

Streets were blocked off, and groups of people were conducting house-to-house searches.

Gu Fan walked outside for a while; with his Organization X identity, he faced no obstacles.

An hour later, Gu Fan returned without bringing anyone from Organization X to capture Xue Yin, which undoubtedly made her trust Gu Fan even more.

"How about it? I didn’t lie to you, did I? I’m on your side," Gu Fan said, opening his arms in a friendly gesture.

Xue Yin still didn’t completely lower her guard and asked, "Who exactly are you?"

"Who I am doesn’t matter," Gu Fan replied while drawing the curtains aside to peek at the neighboring building. "What matters is that right now, I am the only one who can help you."

Xue Yin furrowed her brows, "What are you doing? Pull the curtain back quickly. Aren’t you afraid of people seeing me?"

Gu Fan appeared confident. "Don’t worry, the whole city is on alert, searching everywhere. Because you have visited and I am with Organization X, this place has already been ruled out."

Upon hearing this, Xue Yin felt it made sense and was much relieved, though she wondered, "Why are you looking at that building next door?"

"If you take a look, you will find it odd too," Gu Fan said with a meaningful smile.

Xue Yin walked to the window and immediately found it strange. "All the curtains in that house are drawn. Why is that?"

Gu Fan responded, "There are definitely people inside, but why they shun the light, I do not know. And just my luck to live next door."

Xue Yin looked again and puzzled, "Last time people from Organization X came here, they didn’t discover me. When Organization X toured around, did they not find that building suspicious?"

"That’s the issue. I asked around, and those from Organization X never returned after leaving my place. If it wasn’t you, then who could it be?" Gu Fan’s remark undoubtedly added pressure to Xue Yin, making her feel uneasy about the house with all curtains drawn.

Gu Fan was always curious about who lived in that house but also felt unease. For someone to play tricks in Dark City, they were no ordinary person, perhaps even terrifying and dangerous.

At that moment, Gu Fan received an urgent call.

The search teams from Organization X were closing in on Eyeglasses Man, Tall Man, Muscleman, and Ouyang Jin’s residence. Once they found Ouyang Jin, Gu Fan feared...

Left with no choice, Gu Fan pleaded with Xue Yin with his eyes, "I have a few friends who can help you, but you must first help them."

"What do you mean?" Xue Yin sensed something ominous.

Gu Fan didn’t elaborate much but hoped Xue Yin would create a disturbance outside to attract the attention of Organization X, making them believe Xue Yin had broken out of Dark City.

Xue Yin was reluctant to take the risk, but she knew that if Organization X didn’t lift the martial law over Dark City, they would soon discover her.

Thus, Xue Yin decided to follow Gu Fan’s plan. She began to unleash her power; her body grew taller and more robust, her skin turning ink black, the terrifying aura returning.

"Pity, such a beautiful woman," Gu Fan said regretfully as he watched.

"Scram!" Xue Yin snorted coldly and then charged out, racing outside and heading towards the perimeter walls.

Gu Fan looked at the shattered window Xue Yin had broken through, shook his head, and sighed. "The previous damage wasn’t even fixed yet, and now this. What if it rains?"

The roaring and commotions were earth-shaking, impossible for Organization X to ignore. They initially planned to search the residences of Eyeglasses Man and Ouyang Jin, but now that they had found their target, searching further was pointless.

Gu Fan furrowed his brows, wondering whether to go out and help, worrying Xue Yin couldn’t handle it alone.

For the pursuit of Xue Yin, he believed Organization X must have deployed their elite forces. Perhaps even Xue Wang and Lord Xiong were there. If Gu Fan encountered them now, he would be helplessly outnumbered, and he didn’t relish the idea of being beaten up by a mob.

According to Gu Fan’s plan, Xue Yin charged towards one of the city walls and leaped over it, making Organization X’s forces believe she had escaped outside.

However, Gu Fan had observed before that Organization X had stationed many patrols on the streets, and likely the high walls were manned by their members, posing some tough challenges to break through.

Xue Yin truly didn’t want to risk herself for Gu Fan, but she knew she had to take a chance; otherwise, it would be difficult for her to escape.

Roaring, Xue Yin leaped onto the city wall, teching two vampires to tatters with her claws, then dashed along the wall, slaughtering anyone she encountered, leaving a trail of blood in her wake.

Ordinary vampires were no match for Xue Yin, easily taken out by her. However, more vampire warriors from Organization X were en route, and once they reached the battlefield and encircled Xue Yin, her escape would become incredibly difficult.

Everyone was racing against time. Based on the city wall’s surveillance, Organization X mobilized manpower to pursue Xue Yin.

Gu Fan had anticipated this and instructed Xue Yin to cause a commotion on the wall for a while without engaging in prolonged fights. After eliminating a section of the wall’s guards and destroying the surveillance, she should leap off the wall and escape into the Dark Primitive Mountain.

Organization X would surely believe Xue Yin had escaped Dark City and would send a vast number of vampire warriors into Dark Primitive Mountain.

True enough, after Organization X deployed many vampire warriors to the scene and found traces of Xue Yin outside, they concluded she had escaped.

Xue Wang’s orders were absolute; Xue Yin must not get away. Thousands of vampire warriors, along with genuine members of the Xue Clan, commenced a large-scale search in the Dark Primitive Mountain.

However, Organization X didn’t know that after briefly leaving traces outside Dark City, Xue Yin immediately scaled the wall back into Dark City.

Gu Fan had been waiting for a while. He parked a car nearby, and Xue Yin hid in the trunk, while he, with his Organization X identity, aroused no suspicion, as many from Organization X had driven to the scene.

With the section of the wall’s surveillance destroyed and its guards eliminated, Organization X could only conclude from the footprints that Xue Yin had escaped, unable to know she had returned to Dark City. This meant that Xue Yin and Gu Fan would be relatively safe for the time being.
