Chapter 1388: Chapter 1388: A Master is Indeed a Master
Gu Fan asked, "Didn’t you run away? Why come back?"
Li grimaced, "No choice, there’s someone even scarier outside, didn’t dare to go out."
Hearing this, Gu Fan suddenly remembered the hunter outside. He quickly dragged Li to hide beside him; he certainly didn’t want to be recognized by the hunter at this moment and have his identity exposed.
Xue Long was sent flying in, rising from the collapsed rubble, not a hint of annoyance on his face, rather exhilarated, "Haha, impressive! I admire you. In a short fight, I can’t defeat you, but you also know you can’t afford this."
A flying sword shot in from a gap in the wall straight toward Xue Long.
"What is this!" Xue Long punched the flying sword away, focused entirely outside, neglecting his rear.
At this moment, Lie Tie charged out. With a wooden spike in hand, he stormed forward. Before him was a true member of the Xue Clan, killing one was much more significant than killing a hundred vampires.
"Just you!" Xue Long quickly sensed someone attempting to ambush him, spun around, and a powerful kick landed heavily on Lie Tie, the clash feeling as if iron struck iron, shocking Xue Long.
"Yes, just me!" Lie Tie, with his bulletproof body, took the blow without retreating but advancing instead, thrusting the wooden spike straight toward Xue Long’s heart.
Xue Long scoffed, easily dodged the attack with a simple turn, and then landed a heavy punch on Lie Tie’s head.
Lie Tie, despite his bulletproof body, couldn’t withstand Xue Long’s formidable punch and was left dizzy.
"Admirable courage, but you’re just second-rate," Xue Long relentlessly attacked, punching vigorously, each blow landing heavily.
Lie Tie couldn’t hold back, retreating continuously, finally realizing the vast difference in real strength between him and the Xue Clan.
Though Xue Long seemed to have the upper hand, his fists were sorely painful. There was no help for it; Lie Tie’s body was too tough. Despite so many strikes, they hadn’t inflicted much damage.
Seizing the moment Xue Long’s attacks weakened, Lie Tie finally unleashed his rage, stomped forward, and launched a brutal charge, smashing into Xue Long, then carrying him toward the warehouse.
Roaring intensely, Lie Tie advanced with large strides, smashing through walls and breaking steel pipes, subjecting Xue Long’s body to continuous impacts.
"You bastard!" Xue Long endured immense pain but clenched his teeth, waiting for Lie Tie’s steps to slow.
Moments later, Lie Tie drained too much energy, his steps faltered, his speed slowed, and his impact weakened significantly.
Xue Long smiled coldly, then punched Lie Tie down to the ground, followed by a heavy stomp on his body, two severe hits that nearly left Lie Tie unable to rise.
"Bulletproof, huh? Strong body, huh? Let’s see how tough you really are," Xue Long brutally stomped several more times, targeting Lie Tie’s head.
No matter how tough Lie Tie’s body was, his head couldn’t withstand such severe blows for long. Just when he was almost done, a cold light flashed in the darkness.
"I knew you would make a move," Xue Long punched a flying treasure sword away and then another punch sent the approaching hunter flying.
Just then, Gu Fan and Li arrived, just in time to see a treasure sword flying towards them, landing right in front of them, nearly hitting them, causing Li to break out in cold sweat.
Gu Fan furrowed his brow, recognizing the sword as a hunter’s. Expert fighters hardly ever let their weapons out of hand, and under the current circumstances, Gu Fan was genuinely worried for the hunter.
Due to the intense fighting, many steel pipes had fallen down, their crashing onto the ground instilled fear in everyone, feeling as though the warehouse was about to collapse.
Li was anxious, "Stop looking, let’s quickly escape. There should be no enemies outside now."
Gu Fan wasn’t listening at all—he had wanted to touch the hunter’s treasured sword more than once.
Just as Gu Fan was about to touch the treasured sword, he was suddenly repelled by a forceful energy, and the sword itself emitted a resonating sound, seemingly displeased with being touched by others.
"How stingy, just like your master," Gu Fan had just finished speaking when he saw the treasured sword resonate more violently, as if protesting.
Li was a bit dumbfounded, "What do you mean, are you very familiar with the owner of that sword?"
Gu Fan quickly explained, "No, I was just making a casual remark."
Suddenly, the treasured sword rose from the ground and swiftly flew out, seemingly summoned by the hunter.
Seeing this, Li was extremely envious, "That’s so impressive. If I could do that, I would definitely be highly valued by Organization X."
Gu Fan also thought this move was very stylish; he planned to seek some tips from the hunter when he got the chance.
Soon there was the noise of fighting again; the hunter and Xue Long were locked in combat once more, neither yielding, exchanging blows. Despite the darkness, the sparks from the sword striking something were still visible.
"That’s it, this isn’t something we can get involved in, let’s get out of here quickly." Gu Fan had just thought of fleeing when suddenly an arm fell in front of him—it seemed to be Xue Long’s.
An angry roar sounded; Xue Long was thoroughly provoked, landing a heavy punch on the hunter and sending him flying.
Li, who was not far away, saw the hunter lying motionless on the ground, seemingly unconscious, appearing as if just about anyone could finish him off.
This was a rare opportunity; Li drew out a dagger, thinking of seizing the credit, but was stopped by Gu Fan, "What are you doing? That’s an expert, do you have a death wish?"
"But..." Li seemed to say something but then saw several other people from Organization X excitedly rushing towards the hunter, each wanting to claim the credit.
Li became anxious, but Gu Fan forcefully dragged him away, adding, "Forget it, that credit belongs to someone else now, stop thinking about it and let’s go."
"You really are..." Li was somewhat angry, feeling that Gu Fan had wasted a great opportunity.
Just when the hunter was in danger, the treasured sword floated up and quickly darted around, crisscrossing, its cold light slashing through the air amidst continuous screams and splattering blood.
Only then did Li realize how naïve he had been, thinking of picking up an easy victory and nearly losing his life in the process.
"That’s enough, we shouldn’t be after credit, let’s prioritize safety first," Gu Fan said while carefully observing the surroundings, as the location was fraught with dangers, unknown powerful figures possibly lurking.
Li looked at Gu Fan, then showed an embarrassed expression, struggling to speak, "Thanks, brother, you saved my life, I will definitely repay you."
