Chapter 1347: Chapter 1347 Let’s All Go Have Fun

At that moment, Gu Fan was completely unaware that his next-door neighbor, who was his ex-girlfriend, was watching him. He also thought that once he got his ID card, he could strut around here freely and continue to familiarize himself with the geography and routes.

This time, however, Gu Fan wasn’t just wandering through the streets and alleys, but he directly stepped onto Dark Avenue, deciding to further integrate into the life there.

Clutching a toothpick, wearing baggy pants and a vest, with his hands shoved in his pockets and walking with a swagger, this was something Gu Fan had always wanted to do. Previously, he was afraid that walking like this might get him beaten up, but in Dark City, such ostentatious walking styles were commonly seen everywhere.

Most people who made it into Dark City were desperados, each with a gaze that didn’t seem very friendly. Their distinctive walk, merely flashing their tattoos, gave off a vibe that they were not to be messed with.

Gu Fan glanced at his clean arms, completely devoid of any tattoos, feeling quite inferior compared to the locals.

Dark Avenue had many shops, and on any given day, everyone who filled up on food and drinks would come here for entertainment, such as having a drink, clubbing, or playing some poker.

According to the man with glasses, all the shops on Dark Avenue were run by people from Organization X, and behind each shop stood a noble of Organization X.

For instance, the nightclub Gu Fan was looking at belonged to Catherine, a noble within Organization X, and was managed by her family members.

Organization X had a clear hierarchy. Apart from Lord Xiong and Xue Wang who held the greatest power, there were also the Four Great Nobles.

Xue Wang resided at the very center of Dark City in the Tower of Darkness, whereas the Four Great Nobles controlled the four districts of Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, and Northwest respectively. Within their own territories, the Four Great Nobles could do as they pleased, and even Xue Wang had difficulty restraining them.

However, orders within Organization X forbade the nobles from managing any shops or companies in their names; any outside business was part of Organization X. Breaking this rule could spell severe punishment even for the nobles.

Just like the X Fund belonged only to Organization X and not to Haywes individually. This was to prevent the Four Great Nobles from becoming too powerful and potentially leading a departure from Organization X’s control, thereby causing the organization to split apart.

Helen, Haywes, and Hai En were among the East Nobles, and their domain was the East district of Dark City.

Conflicts were incessant within Organization X; squabbles between the nobles and regular members were frequent, as were disputes over interests among the Four Great Nobles; even within the nobility, there were abundant issues.

Gu Fan remembered Helen once saying that most of her family members had major reservations about her, although a small part recognized her status. There were frequent arguments due to disagreements within her family.

He thought about how his family, the Gu family, was in a better state, carrying on only his grandfather’s and perhaps his second granduncle’s legacies. Fewer people meant fewer problems.

Checking the time, it wasn’t very late. Gu Fan glanced at the nightclub and thought, "since I’m here, I might as well go check it out."

Suddenly, Gu Fan recalled Lin Xi’s warning that if he dared to visit any nightclub behind her back, she would make him regret it.

"Maybe not then!" Just as Gu Fan decided against checking out the nightclub, he suddenly heard someone calling out, "Isn’t that Tai? Are you here too?"

Gu Fan turned around, startled to see the man with glasses, the tall man, and the muscleman walking over.

"Oh, what a coincidence, I was just passing by," Gu Fan muttered a perfunctory greeting, hoping to leave, but he was stopped by the muscleman who grabbed him: "Since you’re here, it looks like you want to go in, and we do too. Let’s just go together."

Gu Fan looked troubled, "Isn’t it better if we keep our distance?"

"What distance? A friend of Ouyang Jin is a friend of ours! We’ve already written to Ouyang Jin. As long as he sends more supplies next time, we’ll take good care of you, taking you to the nightclub is part of that care," the muscleman said heartily, and even linked arms with Gu Fan.

Gu Fan was firm, "No, my girlfriend would get mad if she knew I came to such a place."

The tall man added, "She’ll only get mad if she knows, and she doesn’t know right now."

"You guys don’t understand my girlfriend. She has her ways, and if she finds out, you’ll be in trouble too," Gu Fan pleaded, but the muscleman and the tall man didn’t let go, urging him, "How scary can a woman’s temper be? Come on, you’re a man. Don’t let us men down."

"This isn’t about who’s more dominant between men and women." Gu Fan didn’t even know how to explain further. Then, he noticed the unusual glances from people around them.

Gu Fan felt that if they kept making a scene, it would draw more attention, which would increase the risk. Therefore, he agreed to go with them to the nightclub.

However, the man with glasses stayed silent, seemingly very reluctant to have Gu Fan around, even signaling his companions a few times to keep their distance, but his companions ignored it.

A crow perched on a rooftop saw Gu Fan going to the nightclub with a few merry fellows, and miles away, Lin Xi, through the crow’s eyes, saw everything and was about to explode with anger: "Nice one, Gu Fan, daring to sneak off to the nightclub behind my back. I’ll sort you out after I rescue you."

People around clearly perceived Lin Xi’s rage and wisely steered clear.

Then, Lin Xi’s fierce gaze turned toward Ouyang Jin, saying coldly, "This is all the good work of your friends, deliberately leading Gu Fan astray."

"Did those three take Gu Fan to the nightclub? Perhaps they were just trying to help him adjust to life there quickly. Being alone in Dark City without visiting any places might make him suspicious. They meant well, and I believe Gu Fan had little choice," Ouyang Jin awkwardly tried to justify.

Lin Xi’s voice grew stern, "Write to me, a first warning. If those three continue taking Gu Fan to such places, once I break through Dark City, I’ll summon lightning to strike them dead instantly."

"Okay, I’ll go handle it right away," Ouyang Jin scurried off.

Su Hui barely held back a laugh, "Calm down, Lin Xi. You should trust Gu Fan. He’s quite steadfast when it comes to personal matters. Focus on gathering more information about Dark City."

"Alright, I’ll try to calm down," Lin Xi took a deep breath to settle her emotions. She trusted Gu Fan wouldn’t get out of line, but she was still furious.

Lin Xi again controlled the crow to soar high above Dark City, circling around before headed toward the Tower of Darkness.
