Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared
Chapter 1310: Using Oneself as Bait

Chapter 1310: Chapter 1310: Using Oneself as Bait

"What’s feared has come!" Gu Fan knew he couldn’t escape this time and immediately turned to throw a punch at one of the eyes.

The three-eyed monster had not expected the human to be so courageous in fighting back. Caught off guard, one of its eyes was punched, eliciting a scream, and its head was knocked askew against the wall due to the force of Gu Fan’s blow.

"What are you waiting for, run!" Just as Gu Fan had finished speaking, the three-eyed monster got back to its feet, but one of its eyes was swollen, and the pain and humiliation made it let out an angry roar.

At that moment, Gu Fan switched on his flashlight and saw the scene before him; the head of the three-eyed monster was alarmingly close, gaping with a maw wide open and biting down.

"Vajra Body Protection, hold up!" Gu Fan now could only hope that his martial arts would save him.

The three-eyed monster bit into Gu Fan, desperately tearing at him, trying to vent its humiliation and pain from that punch. Despite biting for a long time, the monster’s sharp teeth couldn’t break through; Gu Fan was hard as a rock.

Gu Fan wasn’t feeling great either, his body enduring tremendous biting force, feeling as if a mountain was pressing down. Several times Gu Fan felt like his body would be torn apart by the sharp teeth.

"Bastard, are you done biting uselessly yet?" Gu Fan retaliated, clutching his dagger and wildly slashing inside the mouth of the three-eyed monster, wounding several spots, and blood flowed out.

In pain, the three-eyed monster spit Gu Fan out, its mouth bloody, looking quite dreadful.

"Sorry, I’m not something you can swallow." Gu Fan collapsed on the ground, trying to stand up several times but was hurting too much.

Just as Gu Fan was struggling to get up, the three-eyed monster pinned him down with a swipe of its paw.

"Bro, sis, could you be a little gentler?" Although Gu Fan had practiced martial arts and was much stronger than the average person, he was no match for this kind of monster.

The three-eyed monster could feel Gu Fan still alive under its claw, growing angrier; it lifted its paw slightly, ready to strike Gu Fan once more.

At that time, Gu Fan’s body ached all over, feeling as if his bones were about to fall apart; standing was easier said than done. If the three-eyed monster stepped on him again, the thought was unbearable.

Left with no choice, Gu Fan could only tightly grip his dagger, blade pointing upward, then he closed his eyes awaiting the outcome.

A ferocious force crashed down once more, slamming into Gu Fan, exacerbating his internal injuries and causing him to spit out a mouthful of blood.

However, the three-eyed monster howled; the dagger stuck in its paw like a nail, causing it to leap and hop in pain.

This was a perfect chance to escape, but unfortunately, Gu Fan was too severely injured to even move a finger, let alone run.

In this moment of peril, two members of the Steel Mercenary Group suddenly rushed over and helped Gu Fan up.

It turned out the Steel Mercenary Group was passing by and had seen Gu Fan; they were about to greet him when the three-eyed monster attacked. The terrifying aura of the beast made the mercenaries hide immediately.

Seeing how frenzied the three-eyed monster was, and with Gu Fan knocked down, the Steel Mercenaries thought about fleeing. But when they saw that Gu Fan still had a chance of life, they mustered the courage to run back.

"Quick, follow the signs!" Gu Fan said weakly, blood still dripping from his mouth.

The Steel Mercenary Corps dared not linger and hurried away with Gu Fan, not even having the courage to look back.

Seeing the detestable Gu Fan being rescued, the three-eyed monster was instantly furious and wanted to give chase. But as soon as its claw touched the ground, the dagger embedded in its flesh caused a burst of excruciating pain.

Having no other choice, the three-eyed monster proceeded with one claw raised, but running like this was very inconvenient, slow, and awkward, and it even struggled to maintain balance.

Finally, the three-eyed monster let out a reluctant roar and simply stopped, trying to bite the dagger out of its flesh with its mouth. However, the task proved difficult; the dagger was small and the monster’s mouth was large, it exerted great effort and still failed to bite the dagger free.

By the time the three-eyed monster managed to bear the pain and pull the dagger out with its mouth, a lot of time had passed. When it resumed the chase, there was no sign of Gu Fan and the others.

The monster roared out in anger once more, effectively alerting everyone to the danger, prompting them all to scatter.

Meanwhile, the Steel Mercenary Corps, along with Gu Fan, following the signs, raced to the safety exit.

But on arrival, they faced despair; the so-called safe exit was a narrow sewer tunnel that could only fit one person at a time, and with its cramped space, progress was slow. Many people were already crowded outside the exit.

Irina was maintaining order, and seeing the severity of Gu Fan’s injuries, she couldn’t fathom what he had been through.

"We can arrange for you to go first." Irina offered kindly, but Gu Fan refused. Currently, he was unable to move on his own power; entering the sewer meant he would just be stuck there.

"What do we do now?" Everyone was getting anxious. With this pace, it would be a while before one person could go down, and more and more people were arriving.

The monster’s growls were drawing closer, instilling fear in everyone. Some urged to hurry, others began to push forward, and a few even started to curse. The situation was on the verge of getting out of control.

Irina snorted coldly, "Look at what Gu Fan has done for you, now look at yourselves. What a sight."

Hearing this, everyone fell silent, but it didn’t quell their internal fear; they still wanted to enter the safety passage as soon as possible.

"Someone must draw the monster away, or we’ll all die here." Gu Fan spoke without strength. If possible, he would serve as bait, but he was too badly injured to move.

Whether mercenaries, the Hunter’s Guild, or regular troops, everyone had their own desire to live, and not one stepped forward.

Just as the situation became perilous, some still had the courage to risk it all and shouted, "What’s there to fear? Our job is to lick blood off knife edges, to risk our lives for money. Since when have we become so afraid of death?"

One person responded, then more joined. Finally, they started acting a bit more like mercenaries, a bit more like Hunters willing to face vampires head-on.

Following Gu Fan’s plan, ten mercenaries would go first. If the three-eyed monster approached, they’d immediately draw it away. If pursued, they would scatter in all directions to maximize the number of survivors.

Knowing the dangers, ten of the bravest mercenaries, resolute and determined, set off. The others also sped up their pace into the safety exit.
