Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared
Chapter 1306: Take You to a Place

Chapter 1306: Chapter 1306: Take You to a Place

Everyone began to proceed with caution, searching confidently and seriously. They traveled down several paths and visited a number of rooms, until they found, in a corner of a wall, a route just large enough for one person to crawl through—practically a drainage channel.

Gu Fan asked the others to stand guard outside while he went ahead and crawled into this drainage channel.

The group waited awhile. Although only a short time had passed, with their nerves on edge, they all hoped Gu Fan would return quickly, feeling that even a second longer in this place was perilously risky.

After a bit more time elapsed, Gu Fan returned and confirmed that the route led outside; it should be the escape route Xiaolan, the artificial intelligence, had spoken of.

"No way, making us escape through such a tiny path? That’s pretty stingy." Right after Lu Yi finished speaking, the artificial intelligence Xiaolan popped up, her hands on her hips and her mouth puckered in anger: "I kindly offered you a way out, yet not only are you ungrateful, you even disparage me."

Hearing this, everyone fell silent, wondering whose fault it was that they were in this predicament to begin with.

But now was not the time to reason with the artificial intelligence. They had a passageway, and it was likely that the three-eyed monster wouldn’t find it. Gu Fan, Lu Yi, Ouyang Jin, and Irina could use the passageway to safely leave, but what about everyone else?

"We can’t abandon them!" Gu Fan was adamant, not just for any reason, but for those who had stood by his side during perilous moments.

Of course, Irina wouldn’t leave the Hunter’s Guild behind. She picked up her walkie-talkie, only to find that the battery was dead.

With no other choice, Gu Fan suggested going out to look for people, but with so many interconnected passages and everyone dispersed, how were they to find each other?

Gu Fan took out a knife. His method was simple: make markers. He planned to create as many markings as possible in various places so that when the others saw them, they would be able to follow the markings to this spot.

This was a good plan, but for it to be effective, Gu Fan had to make markings in many places, which meant traversing the passageways extensively and significantly increasing the risk of encountering the three-eyed monster.

Speaking of the three-eyed monster, Irina frowned: "Strange, we haven’t heard any movement for a long time. Could it be that the monster has left?"

"That’s impossible. That monster won’t stop until it kills us all, right, cruel and heartless artificial beauty?" When Lu Yi said this, he was obviously being sarcastic, which made Xiaolan, the AI, quite displeased. With a cold snort, she disappeared on the spot.

Gu Fan then commented, "It’s unlikely that the monster would so easily let us go. I think it’s learned its lesson and started moving stealthily."

Suddenly, gunshots rang out from afar. It seemed likely that someone had encountered the three-eyed monster.

Pressed for time, Gu Fan didn’t dwell on it any further. He carved a mark on the nearby wall indicating there was an exit here, then dashed off in another direction.

Lu Yi, worried for Gu Fan’s safety and wanting to follow, was asked to stay, as Gu Fan believed he would be faster and more covert on his own.

Following Gu Fan’s wishes, Lu Yi, Irina, and Ouyang Jin stayed put, waiting for the others to arrive so they could guide them to the safety of the exit.

"It’s all on you now, Gu Fan!" Irina was worried about the Hunter’s Guild, but knew worry wouldn’t help; all they could do was wait.

Ouyang Jin took a deep breath, "We need to get moving too. If that monster finds this place and sees just the three of us, we’re in trouble."

Understanding Ouyang Jin’s point—that in an emergency, the three of them might not be able to enter the safety exit together—Irina made a suggestion: "Alright, Ouyang Jin, you go to the other end of the exit to monitor the situation and make sure the other side is truly safe. Lu Yi, you stay in the drainage channel, and I’ll stay outside."

"What? You’re a woman, you can’t be out there alone." Both Lu Yi and Ouyang Jin were concerned, but with the simple rationale that she was from the Hunter’s Guild and trained, making her movements more agile than theirs, Irina left them with no room to argue. Thus, following Irina’s command, they each took their places in the drainage channel.

"Please Gu Fan, let more people leave alive," Irina silently prayed for Gu Fan, and in that moment, she realized her helplessness and insignificance, wishing the hunter was by her side.

While Gu Fan was fighting a bloody battle in the Dark Primitive Mountain, Lin Yue and the hunter found their time somewhat dull, either training or running their business.

For the first time, Lin Yue was in full charge of the underground entertainment world. With all his assistants called away by Sister Hong, he had to take care of everything from the beverages to the operating costs—and he was overwhelmed.

"It’s the supreme art of war to subdue the enemy without fighting, Sister Hong, you’re being too harsh." Lin Yue, looking at the heap of chaos before him, turned his pleading gaze toward the hunter.

The hunter straightforwardly said he could at most do some cleaning, move stuff around, carry out physical tasks, even fight if needed, but just don’t expect him to handle tasks that he was not good at.

Lin Yue sighed heavily, realizing he could only rely on himself.

At this time, someone from the Hunter’s Guild arrived, walking with solemn steps to find the hunter.

The hunter recognized him as Irina’s most capable assistant and got a bad feeling; under normal circumstances, Irina would personally come to see the hunter, not send an assistant, indicating that Irina was in trouble.

The assistant simply stated: "Sister Irina sent me to fetch you. She asked me to take you to a place."

"Which place?" The hunter frowned, unsure of what Irina was up to this time.

"Once you’re there, you’ll know, and I can guarantee you won’t regret it," the assistant teased, clearly holding back information.

Nevertheless, the hunter chose to trust Irina and decided to follow along to see for himself.

"Master, where are you going? Take me with you; don’t leave me here alone," Lin Yue begged, unwilling to deal with the mess before him.

With the assistant’s approval, the hunter brought Lin Yue along for the journey.

"Fantastic! I can escape this for a bit, hurrah." Lin Yue rejoiced, but then noticed the hunter’s grave expression and asked, "What’s wrong, master? You seem very tense?"

"I have a feeling that I’m walking into a trap carefully laid by Irina. My reason tells me not to go, but my heart urges me to do so," the hunter sighed after speaking.

Seeing the hunter like that, Lin Yue rubbed his chin thoughtfully and suggested, "Master, you might as well just admit you’re still in love with Irina."

Hearing this made the hunter a bit embarrassed and he hastily changed the subject, "Enough talk, let’s get moving."
