Chapter 1257: Chapter 1257: The Secret Was Still Revealed

Just when Helen was very angry, David tiptoed away and said, "I think there’s nothing left for me here, so I won’t stay for dinner with you guys, to be honest, the takeout you order is really terrible."

Helen’s eyes held a hint of chill, "David, do you think I would let you go so easily?"

David, frightened, quickly tried to defend himself, "This has nothing to do with me, it was Gu Fan’s idea, I am innocent too. If you want to settle scores, please look for him."

"But you were an accomplice, weren’t you?" Helen had just finished speaking, when David quickly responded, "What accomplice? I was deceived by him to help, and initially, I was against it when I realized what he wanted me to do. How could Gu Fan do this? How could he use your trust in him to deceive you, to hurt the pure heart of a beautiful woman, how could Gu Fan be so cruel? If you see Gu Fan, help me beat him up, I would really appreciate that."

Upon hearing this, Helen disdainfully said, "You know, David, having known Gu Fan and his people for a while, you’ve also started to know how to spout nonsense."

"How can this be nonsense, look how sincere and innocent my eyes are." David continued to spout nonsense, but Helen was not in the mood to listen further, and ordered her subordinates to tie David up.

David became frantic, "I told you I am innocent, it was Gu Fan who used me to deceive you, you have to believe me."

Helen simply answered, "Since Gu Fan used you to deceive us, then I’ll use you to threaten him, isn’t that quite fair?"

"Fair? You Gu’s have a conflict and just know how to torment an outsider like me, how is that fair?" David protested, but soon his mouth was sealed. Helen didn’t even need to order it; the people from Organization X couldn’t stand listening anymore.

Then Helen reported the situation here to Xue Wang, and it appeared that the people who had shown up in Dark Primitive Mountain and crossed the simple water gate defense were indeed Gu Fan, Lin Xi, and Su Hui.

After completing the report, Helen was heavily preoccupied, "Gu Fan, you are too insane, daring to attack the stronghold of Organization X, though you have the Destiny Stone Body Guard to ensure your safety, it doesn’t mean you can defeat Organization X."

Suddenly, Helen thought of something and had her subordinates return to Dark City first; she drove directly to the old Gu family house.

Gu Ling was cooking when she heard a knock at the door. She went to open it, and seeing it was Helen, she greeted her cheerily, "Helen, what wind has blown you here today?"

"What, aren’t you welcoming me?" Helen said as she entered the old house.

Gu Ling puzzled, "Helen, weren’t you guarding the space-time door, waiting for my brother to return? Why did you suddenly come here?"

"Because I am both sad and angry right now, really not in the mood to watch that broken machine." Helen’s words were meaningful and made Gu Ling sense something ominous, but Gu Ling still put on a smile, "Who is it, who has made you so angry? Tell me, Helen, and I will teach him a lesson for you."

At this, Helen showed a contemptuous look, "Stop pretending, your brother never entered the space-time door, you used a trick to make me think Gu Fan and the others went to the ancient times, then through me, successfully deceived Organization X, making them believe Gu Fan went to ancient times. You have deceived me so cruelly."

"What? My brother deceived you, he took advantage of your trust, how could my brother do such a thing?" Gu Ling exclaimed indignantly.

Helen narrowed her eyes as she scrutinized Gu Ling, "Do you really not know?"

"If I had known my brother was going to do such an outrageous thing, I would have been the first to stand up against it," Gu Ling declared earnestly, as if it were true.

Helen did not want to drag the conversation further and cut straight to the point, "Okay, whether you know about your brother’s plan or not, if you can get in touch with him, hurry up and tell him not to do anything foolish, as Organization X’s headquarters is not a place to mess around with."

"There’s no way around it though; my brother said that if he doesn’t bring down Organization X, he fears he might not live a peaceful life ever again, so..." Gu Ling had just finished speaking when he noticed Helen’s skeptical look. He quickly realized his mistake and hastily added, "This is something he often says after having fought you guys in Organization X many times."

"Oh, is that so?" Helen responded, half-convinced.

Gu Ling quickly changed the subject, "Sister Helen, don’t be mad at my brother anymore. We’re all part of the Gu family. I just cooked some delicious food today; please come and try it."

"Alright, I still have matters to attend to. I came today specifically to remind you if Gu Fan does something to provoke Organization X or pushes them into a corner, knowing them as I do, they will definitely come after you." Helen’s words carried a sense of crisis, which frightened Gu Ling a bit, "But, you guys in Organization X and Shennv Xuanhui reached an agreement of non-aggression, right?"

To this, Helen simply shook her head, "If Organization X is pushed into a corner, they really are capable of anything. Just having a verbal agreement with Shennv Xuanhui doesn’t mean they’ll take it seriously."

"No way, so untrustworthy. No wonder everyone has such a poor impression of your Organization X," Gu Ling said, expressing disappointment.

Helen again kindly advised, "During this time, you better stay with Shennv Xuanhui and also have your parents hide somewhere no one knows about—and perhaps Lin Xi’s family should do the same. In short, don’t give Organization X any opportunity to target you all."

"Okay, Sister Helen, thank you. You really are a part of our Gu family," Gu Ling sincerely appreciated.

But Helen appeared troubled, "Don’t be too happy. I am part of the Gu family, but I belong more to Organization X. I’m currently caught between the two, and I just hope everyone can get along, but it seems the feud is only getting worse."

As Helen began to leave, Gu Ling chased after her and asked, "Sister Helen, have you really never thought about leaving Organization X? Every time I think of second granduncle, I feel that Organization X is really messed up. Don’t you hate Organization X?"

"My grandfather’s situation did make me somewhat disappointed with the organization, but that was Xue Wang’s decision. I can’t blame everything on everyone in Organization X, especially since I have very important friends and relatives there. It’s impossible for me to leave Organization X. That means if Gu Fan and Organization X ever fight to the death, I can only choose Organization X. I hope you guys understand." After saying this, Helen showed a look of apology and then left.

"Oh my God, brother, look what you’ve gotten yourself into," Gu Ling became worried, genuinely fearing that one day the people of the Gu family would harm their relationships while fighting among themselves.
