Everyone couldn’t help but feel close to panic, as every tree around them had a snake hanging from it, occasionally stretching down and hissing at everyone, its all-black eyes indicating its nature—it sucked blood.

Gu Fan, Su Hui, and Lin Xi met up and glanced at the surroundings—many blood-sucking snakes were dropping down from the trees and then rising back up, each descent and ascent taking away a person. This couldn’t keep going on.

"My God, why are the snakes here so huge?" Gu Fan felt this was a tough situation to handle, even with his abilities, taking down one blood-sucking snake was difficult.

"I can understand, but the others can’t," Gu Fan had just finished speaking when a large snake fell down, sweeping its body around and knocking those with guns flying.

Lin Xi spoke up irritably, "Would you two please cut it out, do you even know what time it is?"

Suddenly, all the blood-sucking snakes launched an attack together. Dozens of them dropped from the trees, and more rushed in from all sides, the situation quickly turning against Gu Fan and the others.

The vampire serpent approached ferociously, so everyone had to dodge and scatter, running for safety. This only made the situation more dangerous, but there was no other option in such a desperate moment.

A vampire serpent happened to spot Gu Fan and chased him down. However, Gu Fan refused to flee. Harnessing the power of Vajra Body Protection and his strong arms, he forcefully held open its gaping maw, planting his legs firmly on the ground, managing to bring the massive serpent to a halt.

"Come on, let’s have some good fun together," Gu Fan said, steadying himself, then exerted more force, gripping the mouth of the vampire serpent to pull it up, twisting it 180 degrees from bottom to top, and throwing it to the other side.

"The heart, the heart!" Su Hui, having heard that to hit a snake one should aim for its ’seven inches,’ estimated the spot and took her shot. The wooden bullet went straight through.

The vampire serpent struggled just a bit before becoming motionless, its skin turning to a deathly gray.

One could only say that Su Hui was incredibly lucky, as not all snakes have their hearts at the ’seven inch’ spot. It was a lucky strike nonetheless, and it was time for a counterattack.

Su Hui immediately grabbed all the wooden stakes and leaped forward with a push of her legs, speeding quickly and weaving through the battlefield.

A vampire serpent only felt something rush past its side at high speed, then felt something was wrong. Next, it fell to the ground and turned a deathly gray.

Wherever there were cries of agony, there was an attack; Su Hui would rush there and take down one after another. The situation began to shift thanks to her active engagement.

Soon, the vampire serpents realized something was amiss—they had become the prey. One serpent, perched high in a tree, spotted that it was Su Hui’s doing, and immediately hissed a warning to its companions.

Many vampire serpents heeded the warning and immediately adjusted their course, converging on Su Hui.

"What?" Su Hui stopped abruptly, her gaze swiftly scanning her surroundings and realizing she was surrounded by three vampire serpents.

The three serpents were cunning, forming a triangle and mutually protecting each other’s heart spots, denying Su Hui the chance to strike. Then they took turns sticking out their heads to bite at Su Hui.

Su Hui was too fast, her footwork nimble, her observations meticulous, and her judgments cool, allowing her to dodge the attacks time and again. However, she was unable to break through their circle, remaining on the defensive and growing increasingly anxious. If she could not deal with them quickly, she feared she’d be the one in trouble.

A vampire serpent lunged for a bite but was dodged by Su Hui with a sidestep. However, the serpent seemed to have anticipated Su Hui’s position and swept its head sideways, ramming into Su Hui.

"What?" Caught off guard, Su Hui was struck by the massive head of the serpent and sent flying. The impact nearly knocked her unconscious.

Just as Su Hui seemed unable to hold on any longer, three bolts of lightning tore down from the sky, striking the three vampire serpents, causing them to thrash wildly and shake violently.

"We need to get out of here fast," Gu Fan led the way, while Lu Yi and Ouyang Jin supported the semi-conscious Su Hui. They all hurriedly made their escape.

However, the vampire serpents had an astonishing ability to recover. They quickly rallied and pursued the group again.

Lin Xi immediately set up a barrier to hold them off temporarily, but she too was worried. The vampire serpents continued to ram against the barrier with a madness that spoke of their refusal to give up; it looked like they couldn’t be shaken off.
