Lin Yue was so frightened he nearly jumped out of his skin. He patted his heart and then grimaced, saying, "Sis, you could have at least given me a heads-up. You’re trying to scare me to death."

"My goodness, you’re such a scaredy-cat, but you seem pretty brave when you’re fighting," Lin Xi mocked, causing Lin Yue to feel embarrassed, so he explained, "Sis, it’s like this, fights are common in the gang I’m with, and I’ve already been holding back as much as I can."

"Yeah, you’ve been arrested and locked up for several days. Mom and Dad wanted to visit your place to check on you. If it weren’t for me stopping them, they would have known by now." Lin Xi’s words made it clear that she was on Lin Yue’s side.

Lin Yue could only nod stiffly and then silently prayed, hoping Lin Xi wouldn’t think further, as that could lead to trouble.

Suddenly, Lin Xi smiled, "Alright, I won’t pry any further. As long as you’re okay, I won’t ask more of you."

Hearing this, Lin Yue let out a sigh of relief, feeling like he might have just gotten out of trouble.

Lin Xi smiled slightly, her gaze full of intrigue as she looked at Lin Yue, making him a bit scared, "Sis, why are you looking at me like that?"

"Little brother, I want to ask if you have a girlfriend." Lin Xi’s sudden question left Lin Yue baffled.

As Lin Yue watched Lin Xi’s departing figure, he wanted to tell her something multiple times. That was he already had Sister Hong as a girlfriend, so there was no need for Lin Xi to worry about that anymore.

But Lin Yue had only been asleep for five hours, and it was still dark outside, when his phone started ringing, so he opened his bleary eyes to see that it was Sister Hong calling.

At this hour, something serious must have happened, Lin Yue quickly answered, only to hear Sister Hong’s anxious voice, "Lin Yue, there’s trouble, I need you to come immediately."

"Alright, I’ll come right away." Lin Yue jumped out of bed, hastily dressed, and left the house. His mind was uneasy, wasn’t everything settled with Boss Hong? What could have gone wrong now? Perhaps Boss Hong’s subordinates were unwilling to follow orders and were seizing the opportunity to start their own faction.
