Chapter 1089: Ambush, Instead being surrounded
Chapter 1089: Chapter 1089: Ambush, Instead being surrounded
At last, it was the night when the operation began. Sister Hong and Lin Yue, along with everyone else, were already ambushed at the dock where the enemy would appear, just waiting for them to enter the ambush circle.
The intelligence provided by Boss Hong was very precise. It was just past midnight when a cargo ship entered the dock, and someone at the bow flashed a flashlight on and off, seemingly signaling in code.
Soon, several vehicles had their lights flickering on and off in response to the ship’s signals, officially connecting with each other.
The cargo ship successfully docked, and the vehicles drove in. The people from both sides disembarked, started checking and receiving the goods, and were exceptionally busy.
From the shadows, Lin Yue observed that something was off. The enemy had numerous and powerful forces, protecting their boss very well, which meant that his own side’s few men were not enough.
It had to work, as Sister Hong had guaranteed Boss Hong, so everything had to go according to the agreed plan.
However, Lin Yue was still worried because the situation resembled the one Brother Jin had encountered before. Lin Xi secretly thought, could this be the previous trick, letting Lin Yue and Sister Hong lead the charge to attract the majority of the enemy’s forces while Boss Hong would strike directly at the enemy’s boss?
Lin Yue looked at Sister Hong. He believed that with her intelligence, it shouldn’t be hard to foresee, but Sister Hong still remained calm and collected, as if unaware that this was a dangerous situation, merely a disposable piece in Boss Hong’s game.
Then, at Sister Hong’s command, everything went according to the original plan, and two people drove forklifts furiously towards the enemy, their ferocious manner coupled with the roaring engine driving the enemy to scatter.
The two forklifts charged into the enemy’s ranks, scattering them profoundly, negating their numerical advantage momentarily.
"Protect the boss, protect the boss!" the enemy guarded their boss into a vehicle, and then immediately drove off.
However, all these events were anticipated by Sister Hong. She ordered people to set fires on several roads, forcing the enemy’s vehicles to take only one route, which was precisely where Sister Hong had arranged the real ambush.
This only escape route was very narrow, allowing only one vehicle to pass at a time. As five vehicles followed one another, they sped up, attempting to escape this place.
Because of the earlier chaos, it was unclear in which vehicle the enemy’s boss was, but it didn’t matter; Sister Hong still had the upper hand.
On this narrow road, a gap was covered with a white cloth, hiding the killing move.
When the white cloth was lifted, a forklift charged onto the road, blocking the path of the enemy’s vehicles.
A second forklift followed, trapping the enemy’s convoy in two parts, unable to support each other from front to back.
A third forklift blocked the retreat at the back, completing the ambush circle.
Realizing they were ambushed, all of the enemy emerged from their vehicles and charged at the forklifts, beating the operators brutally.
At this point, they could only gamble. Sister Hong, along with Lin Yue and the others, also joined the battle, mixing fiercely with the enemy,
With her skills, Sister Hong quickly knocked down several attackers, then kicked them away and started checking the vehicles. Discovering neither had the enemy’s boss, she became anxious.
Lin Yue urged, "Sister Hong, hurry, we can’t hold on much longer."
More footsteps and shouts of battle followed. The enemy’s reinforcements had arrived, and there were many of them, flooding in like a tide, filling Lin Yue and the others with terror as they scrambled to flee.
"Run, Sister Hong!" Lin Yue grabbed Sister Hong’s hand and ran desperately, meanwhile hearing the screams of their comrades behind them. Lin Yue dared not look back.
Now Lin Yue and Sister Hong had successfully diverted most of the enemy’s forces to chase them, and they were already far from the enemy’s boss. If Lin Yue was not mistaken, what would happen next should resemble the previous situation.
Sure enough, Boss Hong appeared with his men, completely disregarding the perilous situation of Lin Yue and Sister Hong, and went straight for the enemy’s boss, abandoning Sister Hong just as he had previously abandoned Brother Jin.
A moment later, Boss Hong’s vehicle also passed by, spotting Lin Yue and Sister Hong deeply surrounded, but he didn’t care and let the vehicle drive past.
"My god, damn it, he really is using us as pawns," Lin Yue was unable to escape, and while fighting, he shouted, "Boss Hong, what do you mean by this? What do you consider your subordinates, disposable like this?"
Boss Hong’s vehicle didn’t drive far before he ordered it to stop. He got out slowly, ordering his men to continue pursuing the enemy’s boss while watching Lin Yue and Sister Hong struggle fiercely.
Seeing Boss Hong appearing utterly indifferent and watching the fight with interest, he couldn’t help but laugh, feeling like he would be the final winner again.
Although Lin Yue had greatly improved his skills, he was outnumbered and was cut several times. Although the wounds were superficial, they were very painful, and he bled a lot.
Having no choice, Lin Yue yelled, "Boss Hong, you..."
Even Sister Hong looked pleadingly at Boss Hong, only to see his indifferent demeanor.
Finally, Boss Hong spoke, "You two, did you think I didn’t know about your affair? I spared your lives just for today. Thank you for your sacrifice, which solved my rival for me, so I forgive your actions."
Upon hearing this, a chill went down Lin Yue’s spine; he knew he could no longer hope for Boss Hong’s rescue. Even if they could fight their way out, they wouldn’t escape Boss Hong’s pursuit. It was over, all over.
However, Sister Hong merely smiled faintly, calmly, as if telling Boss Hong that this act was far from over.
Boss Hong didn’t understand why Sister Hong could still be so confident, but he felt everything was already decided.
Suddenly, those besieging Sister Hong and Lin Yue stopped attacking and uniformly turned around, targeting Boss Hong not far away, watching the scene unfold.
"What’s going on?" Boss Hong was surprised, sensing something was amiss. These men were just subordinates, without an order, they couldn’t possibly attempt to ’seize the king first to capture the thieves.’
Regardless, Boss Hong immediately got into his car, trying to leave quickly.
But a forklift came along, lifting Boss Hong’s car, making it impossible for him to escape.
Lin Yue was still puzzled about what was happening when he saw those who had surrounded them now enclosing Boss Hong’s vehicle. Boss Hong was in danger.
And there was Sister Hong, smiling with the demeanor of a victor, slowly advancing towards where Boss Hong was.
In that moment, Lin Yue watched Sister Hong’s retreating figure and realized something—the art of deception within deception.
