Everything was ready, and Gu Fan was about to head out when he ran into Lin Yue. The two exchanged glances, both somewhat startled.

Lin Yue asked, "Dude, you dressed up so handsomely today. Where are you heading? You never dress up this much even when you’re going out with my Older Sister."

Gu Fan explained, "I’ve been with your Older Sister for so many years, seeing each other all the time, no different from an old married couple, there’s no need to dress up deliberately. But today is different, it’s a high school reunion, we haven’t seen each other for many years, and I can’t lose in terms of spirit, you understand?"

Lin Yue looked half bewildered and then shook his head, "I really can’t stand you folks with your fancy comparisons, making everything so complicated. Not like us, if we want to compare spirits, we just hack at each other a few times, and whoever can still stand up gets to be the boss."

"That’s pretty brutal, huh?" Gu Fan was somewhat shocked, then he suddenly thought of something, "You’ve been coming home late recently, where have you been staying over?"

Lin Yue suddenly panicked and started stammering, "Well... of course at a friend’s house. Just a few very close friends, we drink to our heart’s content, get drunk, and then I stay at my friend’s place."

"Is that so?" Gu Fan could tell from Lin Yue’s evasive eyes that the kid was lying, so he added, "You’re currently staying with me, and I need to be responsible for you. Otherwise, I can’t explain to your sister, so if you won’t come home at night, you must send me a message."

"Okay... okay." Lin Yue nodded, not taking it too seriously.

So the two parted ways, and Gu Fan headed straight for the booked restaurant. As soon as he arrived, he saw the words displayed on the electronic screen at the entrance, roughly about the class reunion of a certain middle school, looking conspicuous yet unobtrusive.

The reunion was in the evening, and Gu Fan’s arrival in the morning wasn’t a request from Guo Ye, this guy wanted to ensure the entire process was rehearsed, and besides, there was a lot of preparation to do for the venue—ribbons, balloons, precious videos from high school days, and so forth. In short, there was a lot to be done.

According to Guo Ye, since reunions are rare, it had to be vibrant, spectacular, and bright.

Seeing how seriously Guo Ye was taking it, Gu Fan couldn’t help but exclaim, "My goodness, your scheming is terrifying, that girl won’t stand a chance against your clutches."

Guo Ye immediately corrected him, "This isn’t about clutches; it’s a haven of happiness a good man prepares for the girl he loves."

Hearing this and seeing Guo Ye’s self-indulgent look, as if he had already embraced the girl, was more than Gu Fan could take, and he quickly headed to the bathroom to take a breather.

As the appointed time drew near, familiar faces started appearing in the restaurant. The reunion was thrilling for the old classmates, and they chatted animatedly, even bursting into laughter at times, enhancing the lively atmosphere as more people arrived.

Guo Ye was busy welcoming the classmates, using the opportunity to talk to the girl he was interested in and display his interpersonal skills, aiming to leave a good impression on her.

A male classmate whispered to Gu Fan, "Look at how diligent and eager Guo Ye is now. If he had put this much effort into studying, he might well have been in the top five of our class."

Watching Guo Ye greeting the female classmates with a smile, Gu Fan felt like he was looking at a wolf in sheep’s skin, so he sighed, "To each his own, I guess. As long as he’s happy. We’d be doing a great service if we matched them up tonight."

Another male classmate was less optimistic, "If Guo Ye actually succeeds tonight, and he gets his girl, but then they start arguing and break up. The worst part is, if that girl finds out about this reunion setup, including our mischief, we might not be able to mix in the high school circles anymore, with our reputation ruined by Guo Ye."

"I... never considered that." Gu Fan was now feeling regretful. If Guo Ye didn’t treat the girl right after getting her, the blame would largely fall on him.

Gu Fan thought about backing out, but he suddenly realized this ’pirate ship’ was no longer easy to leave. He had designed a lot of the content to help Guo Ye during this reunion; he could no longer dissociate himself from it.

At this point, Gu Fan could only hope that Guo Ye was a responsible good man.

At that moment, Guo Ye came over, looking slightly nervous, "Gu Fan, how did I look from where you were standing, any slip-ups?"

Gu Fan thought carefully and then said, "You welcomed everyone diligently and appropriately. I believe everyone has a good impression of you, and overall, you seem very changed from our high school days. The only issue is, when you talked to her, your body was a bit stiff; you couldn’t relax."

Guo Ye looked troubled, "What should I do then? I get nervous standing next to her."

"I don’t believe it. Maybe you’d be even more nervous than me if Li Shi showed up right now." No sooner had Guo Ye finished speaking than they heard some girls cheering, "Li Shi, it’s Li Shi, the belle of our class has arrived."
