Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared
Chapter 1003: Outnumbered

Chapter 1003: Chapter 1003: Outnumbered

The vast world is filled with a sea of people, and finding two individuals is no easy task. Su Hui’s first destination was a small town closest to the Martial Arts Competition, where she inquired at an inn, holding portraits of Lu Bei and Jin Yi.

Even if she wouldn’t stay overnight in this small town, she’d have to fill her stomach before hitting the road again. Su Hui’s judgment was not wrong; after much effort, she finally learned the whereabouts of Lu Bei and Jin Yi from a waiter at the inn.

Su Hui spread out a map and studied it closely. Lu Bei and Jin Yi had dined in the northern part of the small town, while the Martial Arts Competition was located in the southern part. Since Lu Bei and Jin Yi had come from the south and then dined in the north of the town, Su Hui deduced that they must have headed north, and there was only one road leading that way.

"Fine, I’ll take a gamble with you." Su Hui immediately set out, aware that she needed to catch up to them as soon as possible. As she headed north, the roads would multiply and later it would be difficult to judge.

Su Hui bought a horse and galloped out of the town, whipping the animal to go faster in pursuit. If Lu Bei and Jin Yi weren’t in a rush, she believed she would definitely catch up with them.

However, after chasing for an entire day without seeing a soul on the road, she couldn’t help but doubt her judgment. Perhaps Lu Bei and Jin Yi had not taken this road and she had lost them. How would she explain this to Gu Fan upon returning?

The skies were growing dark, and Su Hui’s heart sank. It seemed she would have to camp in the wilderness for the night.

As the sun set and night fell, Su Hui found herself in a forest. She started a fire to dispel the evening’s chill and cooked her catch of the night, serving as dinner.

In the deep silence of the night, just as Su Hui was about to find a safe place to sleep, she suddenly heard unusual footsteps within the forest, making her heart skip a beat. Ordinary people wouldn’t appear here in the dead of night.

Su Hui didn’t turn around but continued to roast the fire, pretending to be unaware of someone approaching from behind.

It was Xue Wang who had come. They had been hiding in a nearby cave, waiting for Gu Fan, Lord Xiong, and Mo Yun, growing impatient. When they spotted the light of the fire, they came over to investigate.

Su Hui still didn’t turn around and continued poking the fire with a stick, but her ears were pricked up, listening to the movements behind her.

Xue Wang and his followers stood behind Su Hui, silent, not approaching any closer. They, too, were observing Su Hui, and the atmosphere was terrifyingly silent.

Finally, a vampire broke the silence, "Girl, since you know we’ve come, why not turn around and take a look?"

Upon hearing this, Su Hui felt a chill in her heart, recognizing the rough accent as Western. She also knew from Gu Fan that the second group of vampires invading the Central Plains was nearby, but their exact location hadn’t been revealed by Lord Xiong to Gu Fan.

"No way, I’m really unlucky to have run into them," Su Hui thought, her palms sweating and her body tensing. Then she heard footsteps approaching again. Whether it was good fortune or misfortune, she knew she couldn’t escape it.

Su Hui steeled her heart, kicked the fire, and with a flying leap, launched an attack towards Xue Wang and his followers behind her.

The Western vampires, caught off-guard by her sudden action, were forced back by the flames, showing disgust. But when they saw Su Hui’s beauty, they were completely stunned.

"So beautiful, what a waste it would be to kill her," the vampires said, licking their lips with greedy eyes.

Xue Wang spoke, "Girl, we mean no harm, why do you draw your sword against us?"

Su Hui answered indifferently, "Sorry, but as a woman traveling alone, I am naturally on high alert. How am I to know if you are not bad people? Don’t take it personally."

"We don’t mind, of course, we don’t mind," said Xue Wang. After speaking, he let out a slight smile, then with a glance signaled the others to encircle her.

Su Hui knew trouble had arrived and immediately broke off a few branches to use as weapons in her hands.

Seeing this move from Su Hui, Xue Wang furrowed his brow, "Do you know we are vampires?"

Su Hui did not reply, but instead focused intently on preparing herself while also scanning her surroundings, looking for the best direction to break through.

"Boss, it’s been a long time since I tasted human blood. Since this woman has discovered our whereabouts, we won’t be polite anymore." After speaking, several vampires lunged forward with great speed.

However, the vampires hadn’t expected that Su Hui was no ordinary person either. Her speed was not slow, and she dashed between two vampires, leaving wounds on them with her sword as she passed.

"Impressive martial arts!" Xue Wang was only slightly surprised but showed a disdainful look and with a push of his feet, vanished from his spot.

Su Hui had thought she could escape by speed, but after running a short distance, she sensed something ominous as a strong gust of wind came from behind her.

A palm, simple and direct, hit her in the back, knocking Su Hui to the ground. Not only was Xue Wang fast, but his strength was also terrifying.

Su Hui spat blood from the hit and felt firsthand the strength of her opponent; his speed and power were by no means inferior to the boss. Yet Su Hui was not the same as before, she was not easily defeated anymore. She quickly got back to her feet, pulled out a stun baton, and then struck at Xue Wang.

"You overestimate yourself!" Xue Wang, full of his high opinion, didn’t take Su Hui’s blow seriously and chose to block it directly. However, upon touching the stun baton, he was hit by the electricity and his body immediately convulsed.

That was an opportunity. Su Hui quickly grabbed a wooden stake and aimed for Xue Wang’s heart, striking swiftly before the other vampires could intervene to save him.

But unexpectedly, when Su Hui’s wooden stake hit Xue Wang’s heart, it couldn’t penetrate; the stake even broke apart.

"Didn’t expect that, did you!" Xue Wang recovered and with a palm strike, sent Su Hui flying.

"I don’t know what weapon you used, but luckily I was prepared." As he spoke, Xue Wang pulled out a copper mirror from his bosom, the very thing that had just saved his life.

Su Hui had taken two blows, and though she was injured, she could still fight. However, seeing her now-damaged stun baton, she knew she couldn’t use that tactic again.

"Why did you recognize us as vampires the moment you saw us? Did you guess it yourself, or did someone tell you?" Xue Wang advanced step by step, his eyes filled with killing intent, and the other vampires gathered around as well. It looked like Su Hui couldn’t escape.

She couldn’t give her enemies the chance to completely encircle her, and in desperation to breakout, Su Hui targeted a female vampire who looked the weakest.

"What, you dare to charge at me? You underestimate me!" The female vampire was furious, waving her claws to capture Su Hui, but Su Hui’s swordsmanship was too fast. She pierced through the hands of the female vampire one by one, then kicked her flying with a foot.

"Don’t think you can run!" The other vampires rushed up, grabbing Su Hui by her shoulders with both hands, capturing her.
