Chapter 96: Chapter 90: Adeline’s New Life

"Hmm?" Lucien took the witchcraft ring and inspected it briefly, his eyebrows slightly raised.

He had originally thought it was just an ordinary Alchemical Witchcraft Tool, but unexpectedly, the ring turned out to be quite valuable, probably one of the most prized possessions Gagarin had.

[Item]: Morro Ring

[Category]: Zero-level Witch Tool·Attack Type·Ring

[Materials]: Cold Crystal Ore, Morro Stone

[Description]: Crafted by an alchemist, this superior witch tool uses Cold Crystal Ore as its main material, providing it with a slight heat resistance effect. The ring is engraved with a complete zero-level witchcraft "Icebound Tornado" that can be activated by spiritual power. However, it requires three days to replenish energy or needs to be manually recharged after deployment...

[Details]:...

"Quite a decent witch tool. Even a Third-Level Wizard Apprentice wouldn’t be outdated using it. Unfortunately, being able to release ’Icebound Tornado’ only once every three days makes it somewhat of a white elephant for me."

Lucien slid the ring onto his finger and pondered how best to utilize it to maximize resources once he was promoted to a Formal Wizard.

Soon after, Lucien glanced at his team, which had significantly dwindled in number, and shook his head with a hint of helplessness.

Originally, both teams had consisted of dozens of people, but after the mayhem on the island and two perilous encounters within the ruins, only a handful of half-fairies and apprentices had survived.

Including Lucien and Carly, there were only eight Wizard Apprentices remaining on their side.

The half-fairy side was even more tragic, considering that aside from their leader, the other two third-level Wizard Apprentices were not particularly powerful. In the recent chaotic situation, they could care for even fewer of their own kind.

The half-fairies emerging from the Mushroom Forest were now reduced to just seven, and a controlled youth, relying on his extraordinarily robust physique, also managed to escape...

Whoosh—

As Lucien surveyed these survivors, several shimmering objects flew towards them from the direction of the Mushroom Forest.

"It’s those badges from earlier!" An apprentice stood up, and the swifter-reacting third-level Wizard Apprentices began scrambling for them.

"Grab them!" Lucien watched as five badges hurtled their way, his eyes blazing.

Based on his estimates, entering the core of the mystic realm would require a Ritual Badge as a credential. Including Carly, he needed to snatch at least two badges.

And such items, naturally, the more one had, the better, since even Lucien couldn’t say for sure how many badges were needed for the ritual.

"Get out of the way!" Lilia’s eyes were slightly reddened as she swung her doll Adeline, launching an attack directly at Lucien and another half-fairy nearby, focusing her witchcraft a bit more on Lucien’s side.

"Madwoman!" Lucien defended against the witchcraft and glanced at Lilia, suppressing his anger and chasing after the other badges.

However, because of Lilia’s interference just now, two of the badges were already snagged by the fairy leader and Bennett, who immediately moved on to contend for the remaining three badges.

Whoosh—

Electric light twirled around Lucien, significantly boosting his speed.

But at that moment, Lilia struck again, firing a barrage of ice needles. Although Lucien dodged, the impact of the ice needles altered the trajectory of a badge that had been close to him, which was then seized by a half-fairy named "Qi" with antlers on his head.

Finally, he managed to snatch a Ritual Badge just before the half-fairy named Qi.

"Humph." Lilia smirked at Lucien, then swiftly pursued another badge.

Lucien eyed Lilia, his eyes narrowing slightly before he abruptly turned and rushed toward the last badge’s trajectory, managing to snatch it just before the half-fairy named Qi, securing it just in the nick of time.

Lucien looked towards Lilia.

She too was looking at Lucien, her lips slightly curled upward, her right hand raised showing a badge in her palm, seemingly smiling yet also provoking. Then, she glanced coldly at Gagarin, her smile turning a bit cruel.

After securing the badge in his hand, Lucien abruptly acted.

A silver crescent blade appeared quickly, spinning at high speed and slicing towards Lilia’s right arm joint. Almost before Lilia could react, it breached her instantly conjured defensive layer.

The blade swept past, severing Lilia’s right arm from her body.

The fairy leader was the first to sense Lucien’s outburst. She moved slightly, then looked on with interest as the human factions turned against each other.

And a half-fairy named Amu looked even madder.

"Kill her... kill her..." Amu thought of his beloved Peach, his head slightly bowed, his fists tightly clenched.

"Lucien..." Bennett watched the unfolding conflict between Lucien and Lilia, wanting to say something, but by then Lucien had already seized Lilia’s severed arm using his spiritual power and turned to Bennett and then to the fairy camp.

"She has two badges and other items. I only want one of the badges."
