Chapter 110 - 100 Edison

Chapter 110: Chapter 100 Edison

Lucien never expected that Carly’s baptism and transformation would take so long.

Sitting on a large rock at the edge of the floating island, Lucien gazed at the sea of clouds in the distance and the slowly rising golden speck above the clouds.

Beside him, a bottle of fruit wine was also placed.

"As expected of the ancient mystery known as Cloud Country. Although it’s not my first time watching this sunrise above the sea of clouds, each viewing makes me feel as if my spirit has been baptized anew," Lucien said leisurely while enjoying the fruit wine and the magnificent view of the sunrise over the sea of clouds, in an exceptionally pleasant mood.

This was already the fourth month that Lucien and his companions had been on the floating island, yet there was still no sign of Carly awakening.

Even the scroll space where Carly had received her baptism had completely closed off by now.

Without the two violet leaf command tokens from Carly’s palm, which acted as "keys," Lucien was now unable to re-enter that space to check on Carly’s condition. He could only confirm through the system’s character panel that Carly was still in a deep transformative slumber and it seemed that there was still quite some time before the transformation would be fully complete.

However, Lucien was not in a hurry; after all, this time was also precious for his own improvement. Even after Carly’s baptism was over, if the relic did not force them to leave, Lucien planned to continue to stay inside the relic for as long as he could.

After all, once they left the relic, it would be very difficult to find a place as safe and resourceful as the floating island. By now, Lucien was somewhat grateful and appreciative of the Formal Wizard who wanted to send him to his death on Kosai Island.

If not for his help, perhaps Lucien would still be in Greybone Academy, cautiously dealing with various crises.

"Let’s go back, Edison." Lucien put the remaining half bottle of fruit wine back into his Space Ring and then turned to look at a skinny young boy beside him.

"Ah... okay, let’s go back," the boy seemed to be daydreaming when he heard Lucien’s call. He stood up subconsciously but accidentally kicked over a small plate of fruit in front of him.

"It’s fine, leave it. The birds and other creatures will clean it up soon enough," Lucien, watching Edison who was somewhat flustered, stopped him from his increasingly disorderly attempt to pick up the fruit.

Edison stopped awkwardly, then looked at Lucien, looking somewhat at a loss.

"You still can’t recall your own memory, can you?" Lucien asked Edison, shaking his head somewhat helplessly in his heart.

Naturally, this boy was the human teenager who had been controlled by the Fairy with a special talent. Some time ago, Lucien had found the Fairy and traded two purified Fairy Bloodline crystals for the boy’s freedom.

Compared to the mere skin and bones he was before, his body had "plumped up" quite a bit, but he still looked somewhat weak overall.

But Lucien well knew the terrifying physical strength the seemingly fragile boy could unleash.

However, because he had been subjected to the Fairy’s spiritual and soul control and invasion, the boy had lost most of his memory. Now he could only recall some fragmented memories from his past occasionally while daydreaming.

Edison Castellano, this was the only thing he completely remembered, and it was his name.

Perhaps because Lucien was the first human he saw after the mind control was lifted, added to the fact that Edison had been by Lucien’s side for these days, being taught some Wizard World scripts and basic Wizard knowledge during his free time, Edison gradually developed a subconscious respect for Lucien.

Of course, another key reason for Edison’s profound respect for Lucien was that in these days, Lucien had fully taken care of his meals, allowing him to experience the rare feeling of being fully satiated.

"No," Edison shook his head, then somewhat sheepishly rubbed his stomach, "Mister Lucien, I think I’m hungry again."

"Uh..." Lucien’s mouth twitched, but he still took out three brown potions from his Space Ring and handed them to Edison.

This potion was a basic one known as a physical potion, also dubbed "Brown Owl," and its effects were somewhat similar to the high-energy glucose tablets Lucien knew from before his crossing.

Typically, a Wizard Apprentice would have enough energy to go without food for three or four days after taking a physical potion. Some apprentices or even ordinary people could go a week or even half a month without eating after taking one.

But Edison’s body was exceptionally special, to the point where Lucien felt that calling him a bottomless pit was undervaluing the term, since no bottomless pit could hold as much as Edison’s stomach!

He was like an enormous granary with an incredibly elastic capacity! When he was still skeletal, Edison’s appetite was exaggerated but still within Lucien’s understanding.

At that time, Edison needed about three times the food of an average person per day, which would equate to an adult’s food for about four days if he were to eat to his heart’s content.
