Chapter 545: Chapter 545: Looking for an Opportunity

At 4 p.m., everything was ready. Chen Ke, Diana, and Parker sat in a black sedan, waiting across the street from the Administration Bureau. A backpack filled with Spirit Power Sealing Hand Grenades lay on the rear seat, which Parker would be responsible for bringing in once the operation started.

Chen Ke’s plan was simple—in fact, there was hardly any plan... Wait for Lucina and her team to get in, reach the archive library’s office door, and as soon as Lucina sent Chen Ke a text message, he would rush in there with Diana and Parker.

A gray van came into Chen Ke’s sight. Lucina and her team had started their move.

The van turned toward the checkpoint at the entrance of the Administration Bureau and was stopped. Two guards in gray uniforms approached the van, gesturing for Hall to roll down the window.

"The toilet in Building B is still not fixed... Who... who are you?" The guard came over to greet them but quickly realized that the people inside were not who he knew.

"I’m new, named Hopps. This is my partner, Preston," said Hall as he rolled down the window, greeting the guard, while Priskin also waved to the guard.

"Why the sudden change of people?" the guard asked, surprised.

"They took a day off, and we actually weren’t planning to come today," Hall replied.

"Identification," the guard asked, still dubious, extending his hand.

Hall handed over three forged ID badges to the guard.

The guard took the ID badges, looked at them with a grimace, and saw that the third badge had a photo of a woman.

"Do you have another colleague? In the van?" the guard asked.

"Yes, that’s our little sister, Ravia," said Hall with a smile.

"Open the van; we need to check it," the guard said.

"Of course... of course, there’s no problem..." Priskin got out of the van and walked over to the side with the guard.

Chen Ke, who was observing from a distance, saw Priskin get out of the van and thought they were exposed; he had a grenade launcher appear in hand.

"Don’t panic, Chen Ke; they’re just being checked," Diana held Chen Ke’s hand.

"Do all vehicles get checked like this?" Chen Ke asked.

"No, I think it’s just because the regulars have changed, which raised the guards’ suspicion," Diana replied.

Lucina opened the van door. She had tied her hair up and was wearing a gray-blue jumpsuit with the zipper pulled down to her navel, wearing only a bra underneath. The van was hot, beads of sweat rolled down her neck, and she was drenched in sweat.

She was carrying a large bucket of drain solvent, ready to get out.

"So... umm... hello, Miss Ravia..." The guard glanced at Lucina and swallowed.

"Priskin... I thought we had arrived," Lucina looked at Priskin.

"They want to check, little sister; you’d better cooperate," Hall said.

"Oh... a body search?" Lucina looked at the guard, with a half-smile.

"If necessary... Is all this cleaner?" the guard pointed to the white buckets piled in the van.

"Yes, all of it, slippery, but it doesn’t foam," said Lucina as she pulled up her zipper and placed the bucket back in the van.

"Ah, I see, but it’s best not to get it on your skin... I mean, this stuff is corrosive," the guard chuckled.

"Your eyes are more corrosive than this stuff, sir," Lucina chuckled back, looking at Priskin who also smiled awkwardly.

"It’s been a pleasure meeting you... If Bill and the others are busy... you can come often," the guard laughed.

"You wouldn’t want us to always have to come fix your toilets, right?" Hall interjected.

Everyone laughed, and an air of joviality filled the checkpoint area. The guard handed back the ID badges to Hall, then waved them through.

"Thanks, hope this time it gets fixed," Hall said.

"Good luck," the guard replied.

Watching the van slowly enter, Chen Ke sighed.

"They’re in now, so what’s next? How long might we have to wait?" Parker asked.

"I told Lucina the location of the office, but I remember her telling me that they have to go downstairs first and pretend to fix the toilet pipes, so I don’t know when they’ll be able to find the chance to go up," Diana shook her head.

"If they’re exposed inside, it will be very difficult to rescue them," Parker said.

"They’re seasoned hands," Chen Ke said.

The cleaning vehicle entered the Administration Bureau’s underground parking garage, and three people, led by the building security, carried large and small buckets and tools into the utility room.

"Hello, I hope you can solve the problem here quickly. The suction power of the toilets from the third floor down seems insufficient, but the water pump is normal. You said last time that a section of pipe was blocked," said a lady wearing glasses to Hall.

"I know, I know, we’ll take care of it. There sure are a lot of pipes here," Hall said, tapping on the pipes with a wrench, occasionally looking back at the guard.

"Do we need to turn off the water first to facilitate the clearance?" the lady asked.

"No, not yet. We need to first determine which pipe is blocked, then we’ll have to check your main drain," Hall shook his head.

"Okay then, I’ll go take care of other things. If you need anything, just tell him, and I’ll be right over," the lady said.

"We will, ma’am. Preston... pass that to me... and then, little sister, go over there and check..." Hall gestured as if he were giving orders.

Seeing this, the lady and the building security did not want to disturb their work and left the utility room, gently closing the door behind them.

The three of them looked at the door and quietly waited for 20 seconds. Lucina tiptoed over, leaned by the door, and listened carefully to the noise outside before giving them a thumbs-up.

"All clear... they’re gone. Now what?" Priskin asked.

"I don’t know, this is the basement, our target should be up above," Hall said, spreading his hands.

"Diana said the office is on the 12th floor, the archives office," Lucina said.

"Yes, that’s right, the 12th floor of this building, but I’m sure we’ll be noticed as soon as we leave here to go upstairs," Hall said.

"Well, everyone, think of a way. We’ve gotten inside, off to a good start. Is there any ventilation duct we can climb through to get to the 12th floor..." Lucina rubbed her hands together, looking down the long corridor of the utility room with its complex network of pipes.

"That’s not possible, the ventilation system and the water pipes are separate. We can only follow this corridor forward and then see if there’s another way out," Priskin shook his head.

"The building’s filled with cameras, it’ll be hard to go unnoticed. Besides, Diana said the CPA headquarters have strict zoning by clearance levels, without a keycard, you can’t go," Lucina said.

"This is trouble, I thought clearing the toilets would mean working in an actual toilet. I didn’t expect us to come here and deal with pipes," Hall was also at a loss.

"Let’s just walk forward and see, that’s all we can do now, isn’t it?" Priskin said.

Lucina took out her mobile phone; it was a message from Chen Ke. She opened it and it was just a short inquiry.

"How’s it going?"

"Lost," Lucina replied.

"Where are you." Chen Ke replied quickly.

"Utility room." Lucina replied again.

"She doesn’t know either." It took a while, but Chen Ke replied again; obviously, he had consulted with Diana.

"We’ll figure it out ourselves," Lucina replied.

"What did Chen Ke say?" Hall asked.

"They don’t know either," Lucina said helplessly.

"That Diana... what’s her background? She’s so familiar with the Administration Bureau?" Priskin asked.

"She used to be an agent of the Administration Bureau, that’s all I know," Lucina answered.

"Shit... could this be a trap... could Chen Ke have been bewitched by that bitch?" Priskin’s expression grew serious.

"Damn it, wake up! We’re already in, and you’re bringing this up now... If Chen Ke trusts her, we should too," Hall said.

"Yeah... this is dangerous. You get that, right?" Priskin said.

"Do you want to back out now?" Lucina frowned.

"No... I just want to be clear if this Chen Ke is still the postal worker we knew," Priskin shook his head.

"He always has been," Lucina glared at Priskin.

"Enough, let’s just continue down this corridor, we’ll find a way," Hall pushed Priskin a bit and then patted Lucina.

The three of them continued to move forward in silence.

At that moment, Lucina’s phone received another message from Chen Ke.

"Stay safe."
