Chapter 529: Flame Witch

Chapter 529: Chapter 529: Flame Witch

When the Illusion Creation Witch died, her constructed illusions also crumbled away. The moon at his feet shattered into specks of light, and Opportunity City above his head became dim and lightless. Chen Ke felt heavy-headed and light-footed as he plummeted toward the sky’s canopy, darkness intensifying around him. After several seconds of falling, he landed on his butt on the ground.

The black dress he wore reverted back into black armor, and Miss Chen transformed back into Mr. Chen. The purple Holy Diamond formed by the Moonlight Greatsword lay by his side, and Chen Ke picked it up.

The bizarre and dazzling scene before his eyes dissipated, and Chen Ke found himself back in the white room again. However, the shattered ceiling and walls had not restored themselves. The uniform purple smoke, fluttering down from the sky, was caught in his hand, and a stream of information poured into his mind.

Inheritance acquired...

[Illusion Creation Witch Inheritance]

[Effect: Inherit the ways of the Witch and become the embodiment of illusions.]

[There can only be one Witch in the world at a time, but each Witch’s abilities are different. The Illusion Creation Inheritance will transform the Inheritor’s soul and reshape the body.]

[The Witch’s Inheritance is not a gift but a curse. Those who meddle with illusions will eventually be blinded by them.]

Another Witch Inheritance! It seemed that as long as he defeated a Witch, he could seize her power. However, Chen Ke was a man and thus couldn’t use this ability.

Relic acquired...

[Fujiwara Makoto’s Twin Mirrors]

[Effect: Temporarily swap genders with another person of the opposite sex. If the two are too far apart, the effect will immediately disappear. The appearance and physique after gender-swapping depend on the swapping parties’ own standards.]

[A high-level Illusion Technique tome used by Fujiwara Makoto based on certain preferences. The Witch Fujiwara Makoto was defeated by a hero across time and space, stripping her of her Witch status.]

["They can never experiment on us again."]

The purple mist merged into Chen Ke’s right forearm. Although he had killed the Witch Fujiwara Makoto, the danger was not completely eliminated. Yasla monsters surrounded the building, with Bader standing in front of them.

"Chen Ke!" Bader called out to the house.

"I’ll admit, I underestimated you. You killed someone you shouldn’t have. Do you know what that means?" Bader’s voice came from outside the house, while the surrounding monsters grew restless.

The blue humanoid outlines suddenly all turned red, and the figures overlapped each other, leaving Chen Ke unable to count how many people were around.

"Chen Ke... there are too many of them, we need to retreat quickly," Lucina’s voice came through the Bluetooth earpiece.

"You shouldn’t have touched Diana!" Chen Ke shouted back.

He turned to look at Diana, whose injuries were so severe, she would likely be permanently disabled even if she survived.

"It’s all your fault! I gave her a chance, but you, you always clung to her! Neither of you are leaving tonight," Bader said.

"Your leader has been killed by me, Bader, what makes you think you can defeat me?" Chen Ke shouted.

"Only a Witch can kill me, Chen Ke, your death is certain tonight!" Bader said.

"Chen Ke... hiss... if you have a way, then hurry..." Diana whispered softly.

"I have a way to save you, but you might not be human anymore. Are you willing to pay that price?" Chen Ke asked.

Diana looked at Chen Ke, her eyes revealing a mix of doubt and hope.

"Do you think... I will hesitate? Huh... Come on." Diana said through gritted teeth.

"Become my Flame Witch, Diana Prince!" White ash flowed from Chen Ke’s hand as he placed his right hand on Diana’s shoulder, the ashes slowly adhering to her body.

The temperature around them slowly rose, and flame patterns spread like cancerous cells across Diana’s skin, from her collarbone to her shoulder blades, igniting her flesh wherever they traversed.

"Ugh... Mm..."

Diana clenched her teeth, enduring the agony of being scorched by the fierce fire. Her muscles were baked from the inside out by the magic flames, and her skin turned red. She bit her own lips, her fingers contorted, in pain her toes trembling non-stop. She struggled on the rack, and even the nails were heated to red by the high temperature emanating from her body.

When the fiery red patterns had climbed all over Diana’s body, the flames suddenly surged. Diana burst like a squashed tomato, spurting blood like magma.

"Ah!!!!!!!"

With a roar that strained her voice, Diana broke free from her restraints, the house was engulfed by the storm of flames. Chen Ke knelt on one knee, drove the Moonlight Greatsword into the ground, and gripped its hilt tightly to avoid being blown away by the storm.

The white villa burned to rubble in the flames, and the nearby Yasla freaks were also affected. Diana’s body transformed into a soft red energy body, with orange flames flickering above her head like hair.

"What is that?" Bader looked surprised at the sudden conflagration, the blast blew his companions away, and he stepped forward, his black muscles swelling, his arms stretching long, like a gorilla grabbing the ground firmly.

Out of the flames leaped a knight in black armor, his armor so heated it glowed red, but his greatsword shone with a pale blue brilliance.

"Lost: Ashes of An Helei"

"Lost: Flame Witch Inheritance"

Two lines of text popped up in Chen Ke’s vision. He had lost the ability to create high temperatures out of nothing but had gained a witch. Following Fan Hede’s death in the underground dungeon, the power of flames finally returned to the mortal realm.

"Burn all of this to the ground, Diana!" Chen Ke called out.

The relentless flames licked the earth, and in a sea of fire, Diana soared like a phoenix, flying high into the sky, trailing a tail of flames as she plummeted to the ground.

"Are you... Diana?" Bader’s red pupils dimmed in the light of the fire. He sensed an aura similar to that of Witch Fujiwara Makoto emanating from Diana.

"Bader, you traitor," Diana shouted angrily. She flew swiftly towards Bader, riding on tongues of flame, turning the surrounding houses black with scorching heat waves.

Bader’s arms split into countless black vines, all shooting towards Diana, only to be consumed by the flames and reduced to ashen dust before they could reach her.

Diana’s hands grabbed Bader’s shoulders, her red-hot body increased in temperature, turning a blinding white. Even Chen Ke had to shield his eyes.

Bader’s black muscles rapidly withered and dried up. The disgusting purple fluid just began to spray out before sizzling away. Diana pinned him to the ground, her hand burrowing into his abdomen and then groping upward.

"Urgh!!! Ahhh!!! Cough..."

Bader spit blood, his twisted face was scorched beyond recognition.

"This is what you brought upon yourself." Diana grasped Bader’s heart and viciously yanked it out.

Bader’s heart, seared by the high heat, had shrunk to the size of a walnut. His limbs, burned to ash, and his body melted by the flames, lay on the ground like a charred lump of ruined flesh.

The surrounding Yasla monsters suffered heavy casualties. Diana’s inferno ignited the entire stronghold, and even the adjacent blocks, lighting up the night sky in a bloody hue.

"Diana! It’s time to go," Chen Ke ran to her side. He looked down at Bader’s corpse at his feet, unsure if it was thoroughly dead this time.

"I... I have no clothes," Diana suddenly said, shyly.
