This Spiritual Energy is Lethal!
Chapter 526: Phantom

Chapter 526: Chapter 526: Phantom

"There are two at the door. And on the roof as well."

The next night at 9 PM, in the Deep Anchor District at the Yasla stronghold.

Lucina lay on the rooftop of an apartment building three streets away, observing the activity at the Yasla base through the scope of an L115A3 sniper rifle.

This sniper rifle was a modified weapon provided by Li Moyang, equipped with a silencer. It could fire regular bullets and also counterfeit Flame Spiritual Bullets, easily capable of dealing with Yasla.

The Yasla base was a low-set bungalow that strongly resembled the stereotypical slums from movies. From the roof of the twelve-story apartment building, one could easily take in the entire scene.

At this moment, Chen Ke was hidden across the street from the base in an alleyway, dressed in a brown jacket, a blue shirt, and jeans with his hair cut a bit shorter and a tuft of beard on his chin—looking very capable.

"Can you see clearly from there?" Chen Ke had a Bluetooth headset in his ear and was contacting Lucina via mobile phone.

"Of course, crystal clear. I can’t see to the north or the south, but the spoiled rich kid’s sniper rifle even thoughtfully comes with a night vision scope," Lucina said.

"Don’t fire unless it’s absolutely necessary," Chen Ke cautioned.

"What’s there to worry about? Nobody lives in this apartment building; it’s just an unfinished construction," Lucina said.

"If they realize there’s a sniper, that band of freaks could probably make it to your location in less than five minutes. I’m not keen on saving you twice," Chen Ke said.

"I’ll listen to you this time. I’ll shoot when you say so, okay?" Lucina said.

"Mhm." A gray-black suppressed M1911A1 pistol appeared in Chen Ke’s hand out of thin air. Now that there was no longer any need to consider holster constraints, Chen Ke had much more freedom in weapon selection.

Li Moyang had gotten him quite the arsenal. It proved that as long as one had money, nothing was difficult to obtain—not only this M1911A1, but Chen Ke had also obtained a double-barrel shotgun, a grenade launcher, and an AK47, effectively becoming a one-man mobile armory.

He moved along the shadows into the labyrinthine complex of buildings, slowly infiltrating through the intricate alleyways. Under his Spiritual Vision, all of Yasla’s freaks were squirming in the darkness.

This was their turf; no one infiltrated it easily. The fact that Chen Ke hadn’t yet been attacked meant someone here wanted to meet with him.

These freaks barred the alley entrance, leaving just one designated path for Chen Ke to follow, as if guiding him. Playing along with their scheme, Chen Ke moved forward, swiftly arriving in front of a strange building.

It was considered strange because, among these dilapidated old houses, it was particularly exquisite—like suddenly placing a luxurious unit from Holy Oak Apartments amidst the flea-bitten rentals of the Gun Tie District.

This house didn’t look any different from an ordinary manor on the outside, but it was smaller and had no surrounding walls or yard.

The double doors in front of Chen Ke slowly opened, and the darkness inside seemed to devour everything. Yasla’s freaks stood arrayed in two rows at the entrance, glaring at Chen Ke with a predatory gaze.

"So... your boss wants to see me?" Chen Ke said.

The freaks didn’t reply, uncertain if they even had the ability to speak. However, Chen Ke noticed that among the group there were many bald women—they were all Dull Witches.

He took a few steps into the doorway, and as soon as he crossed the threshold, the doors closed with an echo. Chen Ke turned around but wasn’t surprised; this was how horror movies always played out.

The interior of this house was no different from a luxurious villa in the United Federation, the decor exceedingly lavish, with the space inside appearing much larger than it seemed from the outside. Household appliances and daily necessities bore the marks of everyday use, and there were even two steaming cups of coffee on the table.

"Chen Ke? The phone signal... what...? Beep, beep, beep, beep..." The Bluetooth headset lost its signal. It looked like the house could block signals, and he wondered if it was also soundproof.

"If you want to see me, show yourself now. I don’t have time to dawdle," Chen Ke said to the empty room.

The bedroom door slowly opened, and a woman stepped out.

It was Diana.

Her dark brown hair flowed freely, she wore a purple strappy nightgown, the hem just covering the tops of her thighs, leaving it uncertain whether she wore anything underneath.

"Chen Ke," Diana spoke in a tone different from before; she had never spoken to Chen Ke like this.

"Are you alright?" Chen Ke asked coldly.

"They treat me very well," Diana said with a smile.

"It looks like you don’t want to go home," Chen Ke said.

"I have no home. Maybe you can give me one?" Diana approached Chen Ke with a suggestive smile. She reached out to open the collar of his jacket, reaching for his chest.

"Do you really think so?" Chen Ke asked.

"I’m so lonely, Chen Ke. I’ve never felt this lonely. Perhaps we should have tried this earlier. Now is the perfect time, isn’t it?" Diana said with a smile, slowly moving closer to embrace Chen Ke.

Chen Ke’s eyes grew sharp, his left hand blocked Diana’s arm while his right conjured an M1911A1 pistol out of thin air, and without hesitation he pulled the trigger towards her body.

Seven bullets, four shot into her abdomen, two into her chest, and one right in the forehead. The Divine Blood Bullets, with no casings, the solidified blood penetrated Diana’s flesh, then exploded and corroded the rest of her blood. Diana spat out fresh blood and collapsed to the floor.

"Bitch," Chen Ke said coldly.

The Diana lying on the ground slowly transformed, becoming a bald Dull Witch. From the beginning, Chen Ke had noticed that Diana’s outline was bright red; he knew then that it must have been Yasla’s people setting him up with an Illusion Technique.

"Illusions can’t fool me. If you want to cause me trouble, then be more direct," Chen Ke said angrily.

"I told you... this trick wouldn’t work on him..." A sweet yet unnerving female voice came from the darkness.

The room began to change, darkness swallowed everything, the exquisite tables and chairs became decrepit and old furniture, and the floor was littered with trash.

Then, three women in qipaos appeared before Chen Ke, their faces veiled, and each qipao a different color; the woman in the middle wore black, while the others wore red and blue.

In a blink, the three women vanished, leaving behind strange laughter, crying, and the sound of furious panting. Then, a noise like many-legged vermin crawling came from above, but Chen Ke’s Spiritual Vision saw nothing.

"Three ladies... nothing good..." Chen Ke’s whole body flashed with orange light, An Helei’s armor attached to him.

Don’t ask why he always wore this set; it just happened to be the highest defense he had on hand...

"You fool, you could have enjoyed yourself before dying," the voice of the three women mixed together in the darkness, sounding distorted and terrifying.

The moment the voice faded, a gigantic spider-human appeared before Chen Ke, with an enormous spider abdomen, six hairy large limbs, and the upper bodies of three women, the visual impact was startling.

"You guys are really ugly..." Chen Ke said.
