Chapter 471: Chapter 471: Counterkill

"Guess who called her?" Todd said.

He picked up the cell phone from the ground, and the caller’s avatar displayed on the screen was a selfie of Aileen Wang, nicknamed "Bookworm."

"Oh, another beauty. Is she your bestie?" Todd dangled the phone in front of Diana.

"Damn it, Todd, just kill her so we can wrap this up," the man in the duckbill cap urged.

"Did you hear what he said, Todd?" the black strongman added.

He gripped Diana’s head and right arm, pushing her closer toward Todd, with the knife in Todd’s right hand inches away from Diana’s left hand.

"Hmm hmm..." Diana began to laugh.

"What’s so funny?" Todd drew closer, nose to nose with Diana.

"You know... I’m the female lead, right?" Diana asked.

"Oh? What does that mean?" Todd said.

"Just like this!" Diana said, and the next second, she immediately grabbed Todd’s wrist with the knife and pushed it upward, plunging it into Todd’s lower jaw, piercing through his tongue and trachea, and swiftly yanked out the dagger.

Blood gushed out instantly. Todd, with his eyes wide in shock, fell to the ground, holding the wound under his chin, his entire chin soaked in red.

"Todd! You idiot!" the man in the duckbill cap pulled out a revolver from behind and finally decided to take matters into his own hands.

The black man held Diana with his arm, trying to snatch the knife from her hand.

Diana twisted left and right, trying to break free from the black man’s grip. Clenching her teeth, she reversed her grip on the dagger and stabbed upward behind her, feeling it pierce into the flesh wall.

The grip around her arm loosened a bit, and she quickly twisted to the side, dodging beneath the black man’s body.

"Bang!" The man in the duckbill cap fired at Diana, with the bullet grazing the table and hitting the wall.

"Damn it! You almost shot me!" the black man yelled, pulling the dagger out of his own upper arm.

Diana stayed close to the wall, using the black man as a shield against the bullets from the man in the duckbill cap.

"You’re blocking me, Mani! Move!" the man in the duckbill cap shouted.

"No, I want to tear this little bitch apart myself," Mani roared.

He picked up a chair that had fallen on the floor, using it like a wall as he moved toward Diana.

Left? Right? Diana’s brain was racing, trying to figure out a way to get away. She couldn’t let the strong black man hit her again.

The punches he had delivered earlier had left her reeling. If it had been someone delicate like Ailin Wang, she might have died on the spot.

It must be said, the black man’s fists were no joke. The punch to the abdomen made Diana feel as if her soul had floated to the afterlife.

Diana dared not move from under the black man’s shadow; the man in the duckbill cap had his gun aimed at her. She tensed every muscle in her body, leaving her with only one choice.

The black man threw a right straight punch at Diana’s face. She ducked, and his fist thudded into the wall just 2 centimeters above her head, the shock jarring her feet.

Before she could recover, a left hook followed. Diana crossed her arms to protect her abdomen, blocking the soul-penetrating strike. Her body was launched slightly into the air, causing her to stumble several steps.

The black man’s powerful hand grabbed her collarbone and hair, his thumb nearly penetrating her clavicle bone. She winced in pain, kicking out toward the black man’s chest, but it did nothing.

"I’m going to break your collarbone, then break every one of your ribs, little kitty!" the black man taunted as he began to squeeze.

"Ah ha ah!" Diana screamed in pain, reaching out with both hands to scratch the black man’s face, leaving several scratch marks.

"Keep scratching, little kitty! Keep going! I can already hear the sound of bones breaking!" the black man sneered.

Diana suddenly jammed her thumb into the black man’s eye socket, pressing into the soft, elastic globe. She hooked around the orb, yanking it out violently, like bursting a berry, pulling a red nerve bundle from the man’s eye socket.

"Ah ah ah!!" The black man screamed, punching Diana in the chest.

Diana was hit against the wall by the punch and then rebounded to the ground, spitting out a mouthful of bloody saliva.

Seizing the opportunity, the man in the duckbill cap raised his gun and aimed at Diana on the ground, firing a shot.

"Bang!"

"Ugh!"

Diana did a side flip, and the bullet grazed her waist, tearing a hole in her white shirt, and red blood splattered against the wall.

"Damn it! Move, Mani! Move!" the man in the duckbill cap yelled.

"My eyes! Ah! My eyes, Todd!" Something, presumably the nerve connecting to the eyeball, was ripped out of Mani’s left eye socket—it just hung there, dripping blood, looking extremely horrifying, even Todd couldn’t bear to look directly.

"This was supposed to be a simple job, Mani." Todd shot twice at Mani’s legs, bringing the large Black man down to the floor and leaving Diana nowhere to hide.

Finally, he aimed at Diana.

"There were some complications, but you’re still going to die," Todd said.

"Five minutes have passed," Diana said.

Todd suddenly realized something.

Diana extended her palm towards Todd—Air Explosion!

This was a secret skill used by field agents of the Administration Bureau to disperse civilians, creating an air shockwave within a 20-meter radius, arguably another version of a burst of Spiritual Energy.

Todd was thrown out, crashing against a table before rolling onto the floor. He quickly got up to grab his fallen gun, but Diana kicked him in the chest.

"Ugh!" Todd rolled on his side, his chest pinned down by a snow-white bare foot.

Diana picked up Todd’s revolver and aimed it at his head, still loaded with two bullets.

"Embarrassing... isn’t it...?" Todd said.

"You mentioned a list before? What is that? Am I on that list?" Diana asked.

"Let’s make a deal... I’ll tell you everything I know, you let me go, hand the two of them over to the Administration Bureau, how about it?" Todd said.

Diana shot through Todd’s palm, the bone and flesh splitting apart, blood spraying everywhere.

"Ah! You... You crazy bitch! Ah!" Todd cursed, clutching his severed hand.

"I don’t want to make a deal with you, speak!" Diana cocked the hammer of the gun.

"A woman gave us the job... we’re just one group... damn... she’s got a lot of people she wants dead..." Todd said in agony.

"Who is this woman? Who does she work for?" Diana pressed.

"Don’t know... We communicated by phone, no one’s ever seen her..." Todd said.

"Do you have the list on you?" Diana asked again.

"I don’t have the complete list... just the part that concerns me..." Todd was sweating cold sweat, the wound on his palm deep enough to see bone.

"Hand it over," Diana demanded.

"It hurts so damn much... fuck... fuck!" Todd reached behind him with his bloodstained hand.

"I’ve changed my mind," Diana said, aiming at Todd’s forehead.

"Wait... you’re from the Administration Bureau... aren’t you supposed to... take us back?" Todd became fearful.

"Screw capturing you, all three of you are premeditated murderers of an Administration Bureau agent, I sentence you to death! Immediate execution!" Diana pulled the trigger, the gunflash flickered, and a 9mm bullet pierced through Todd’s forehead, blossoming into a blood-red flower on the white wall behind.

"Ah... my eyes..." the Black strongman wailed, lying on the floor.

Diana picked up a dagger from the ground, grabbed the Black man’s head, stabbed it into his neck and twisted the knife. After stirring it around, she pulled it out.

She threw down the dagger, clutching the wound on her waist, took off her shirt, then searched Todd’s body and found a handwritten list.

"Before October 2009... Diana... that’s me... 7 months ago, Wang Ailin..."

She knelt on the floor, furrowing her brows, recalling the strange phone call from Chen Ke.
