This Spiritual Energy is Lethal!
Chapter 442: Disintegration

Chapter 442: Chapter 442: Disintegration

Blood-congealed small cones came directly at him, and Chen Ke did a backward roll to dodge, the warmth and amniotic fluid scent seeping into his collar.

Chen Ke didn’t have time to pay attention to the discomfort as Katherine’s next wave of attack followed swiftly. She formed two blood blades with her hands and screamed sharply as she charged toward Chen Ke.

Chen Ke condensed a Spiritual Power Crystal Gun in his right hand, intending to use it as a close combat weapon to block, only to see the red blood blades and the blue Spiritual Energy Beam clashing together in a flash.

Unexpectedly, his own hand was cut off.

Without being thrown, the Spiritual Power Crystal Gun was merely a beam of blue-glowing energy; it had to be thrown to crystallize.

Katherine’s other blood blade thrust fiercely into Chen Ke’s lower abdomen.

Although Florence’s clothes could not be destroyed, they could still be broken by attacks. Although the clothes would automatically restore after the attack, not everyone wearing them could recover automatically like Chen Ke.

A warm liquid surged into Chen Ke’s mouth. At this moment, Katherine was only half an arm away from him; he decided to fight back and reached out with his left hand to grab Katherine’s hair, spraying blood on her face.

"Damn it!" Chen Ke cursed.

Katherine, having been sprayed in the face with Chen Ke’s blood, let out a painful scream. She quickly let go of him and started to wipe the blood off her face, shrieking as if someone had splashed her with sulfuric acid.

When she let go, Chen Ke saw that half of Katherine’s face had peeled off, the upper part raw and bloody with her large eyeballs embedded in the red muscle tissue.

"Does that feel good!" Chen Ke held his abdominal wound, the blood blade that had been in his liver had now dissolved into a pool of blood.

He condensed the Spiritual Power Crystal Gun again and kept throwing it at Katherine. This time he wouldn’t miss. At a distance of less than 2 meters, he wouldn’t wait for Katherine to dissolve into blood and escape, piercing her thigh instead.

"AAAAAAAHHHHH!!!" Katherine screamed in pain. Her left hand’s blood congealed into a huge scythe, swinging it at Chen Ke.

Chen Ke dodged swiftly and aimed at her chest, firing another shot that blew a hole through her upper body.

The Spiritual Power Crystal Gun didn’t disappear immediately after piercing Katherine; instead, it transformed into a long, narrow beam of light remaining in her body, then causing a Spiritual Energy explosion, blasting her body and sending flesh and blood flying.

Katherine’s body, initially filled with a hormonal scent, now resembled that of a zombie, with flesh torn and hanging, muscles and broken bones exposed through her injuries, creating a harrowing sight.

If it weren’t for the subjective world’s 70% injury penalty, Chen Ke would have killed Katherine already.

Chen Ke pressed his advantage, dodging her wildly swinging blood blade and looking for a chance to get close. Keeping the distance around 2 meters, he didn’t give Katherine time to completely dissolve into blood and merge into the ground—a move he could interrupt.

He jumped to the right, quickly bent down to dodge a horizontal swipe of the blood-formed scythe, and fired a Spiritual Power Crystal Gun at Katherine’s head, shearing off the upper half of her skull.

Katherine’s body tensed as her brain tissue was instantly lost; her body fell flat like a plank into the Blood Pool, splashing blood everywhere.

Chen Ke anxiously watched Katherine’s corpse, took a deep breath, and thought, "Finally, it’s done. Once I get out, I will take the Holy Diamond from around her neck, and then find an excuse to brush off Maria and meet with Jacob."

Chen Ke patted the blood off his coat, though everyone knows you can’t brush off blood with your right hand, he still did it out of habit, waiting for Katherine’s corpse to disappear like Baron Mox’s did.

However, after waiting for more than ten seconds, not only did Katherine’s corpse not disappear, Chen Ke himself showed no signs of leaving either.

"Damn... what went wrong?" Chen Ke frowned and cautiously moved closer to Katherine’s body, his right hand ready to summon the Soul Crystal Gun at any moment.

Katherine’s body emitted a faint blue glow, which startled Chen Ke. It felt eerily familiar, and then it hit him—wasn’t this the light that emanated when summoning Holy Relics?

Katherine’s tattered white nightdress was suddenly replaced by a set of Holy Relics, a black 404 suit that wrapped around her mutilated torso, leaving only the lower half of her head.

Chen Ke sensed trouble. The Blood Pool beneath him seemed to undergo some transformation, becoming restless and starting to boil. From the black Abyss above, a chorus of insect-like chirps resonated.

These chirps resembled the cries of newborns; their fragility perceived through the sounds alone.

Then, blood rained down from above. Warm and sticky, the droplets fell onto Chen Ke’s face.

His mind wavered, and when he looked back at Katherine, she had already stood up, the missing half of her head now filled with structures that resembled insect eyes, even emitting bubbles between them.

Wings, like those of an insect, sprouted from her back. Flapping disgustingly, they emitted a nauseating sound and released a mist of blood with each beat.

The boiling blood turned incredibly viscous, sticking like strong glue, securing his feet to the ground, while Katherine simply flew upwards, slowly disappearing into the darkness above.

Chen Ke looked up, searching the darkness. Katherine still retained a human form, so her red silhouette was easily visible.

The sporadic sounds of raindrops and the fluctuating flapping sounds irritated Chen Ke. A non-human buzzing came from above, followed by a burst of blood-red spines, raining down like a storm.

The spines, similar in size to the Spiritual Power Crystal Gun but fresher, slanted down from the darkness, turning Chen Ke into a porcupine where he stood.

Stuck to the ground, Chen Ke could only cover his head with his hands, squatting and bracing as over a dozen spines pierced his arms, back, shoulders, and thighs, seeping blood.

He snapped his fingers upwards, and with a loud bang, the spines rebounded like a 12-gauge deer bullet back towards the black Abyss.

Katherine shrieked as she fell to the ground, impaled by more than a dozen spines. Her wings were half-destroyed.

Chen Ke pulled the spines out of his body, examining them closely. They resembled bee stingers; he wondered if they were venomous.

When Katherine fell, her head hit the ground first; the eyes in her half-head popped like lychees in a delivery box, their juices mixing into the Blood Pool, creating an unspeakable color. She lay still face-down, her buttocks sticking up awkwardly.

Not taking any chances, Chen Ke fired another Spiritual Gun at Katherine. The Spiritual Spear pierced her torso, exploding her abdomen open and spilling out a mass of rice-grain-sized creamy maggots, resembling young cockroaches.

Katherine’s body slowly faded away, and the Blood Pool beneath Chen Ke also began to dry up. At that moment, a line of blood-red text appeared in the corner of his eye: "Subjective world collapsing."
