Chapter 749: Chapter 618: The First Test of Taking Office_3

The demons could not break out yet, but the pressure at the Blood River Front was clearly increasing.

Amberser swiftly flew into the frontline and saw Bayer bravely fighting the enemies.

As the Commander of the Blood River Fortress, Bayer’s personal combat strength wasn’t the strongest, but being a Deity, slaughtering the demons was still as easy as slicing through melons for him.

While leading his Personal Guard in a bloody battle, Bayer suddenly felt a powerful magic power approaching.

Turning his head, he saw Amberser appearing in a brand-new form.

Bayer excitedly said, "Deceiver, is that you? Where is Zariel?"

Amberser chuckled, and with a flick of his fingers, immense power landed on Bayer, pinning the huge Devil Commander fiercely to the ground.

What of being a Deity? Amberser was now the lord of the first layer of hell. Using the Power of Laws for delicate tasks was difficult, but to overpower someone with brute strength was simple.

Bayer was shockingly overwhelmed. This was the power of Hell Law, but how did it end up with this mortal... wait, could it be, that madman Zariel, did he really hand over the reigns of Hell to a human?

Amberser looked down at Bayer, who was kneeling on the ground, and slowly said, "Previously, you called me a Deceiver, and I didn’t mind because I indeed was a notorious mortal. But now, what should you call me?"

Bayer gritted his teeth as he struggled to support his body, but how could he possibly contend with the power of a whole plane? After his bones started cracking, he finally bowed his head and respectfully said, "I was wrong, respected Duke Deceiver."

Unable to resist, Bayer could only submit.

He was never a stalwart character, otherwise, he wouldn’t have bowed and scraped before Zariel for so many years. If Zariel still controlled Hell Law, he would never have dared to defy him, otherwise, the result would be just as it was now, Zariel could deal with him with a flick of his finger.

But Bayer never thought that the master of Hell Law would change so easily. What exactly had this mortal done? Fusing with Hell Law was a tremendously difficult task, it would take him ten years and he still might not fully control it, yet this man did it in just a few minutes...

Bayer was immensely dissatisfied, but it was pointless because Amberser held absolute power.

Amberser was pleased with Bayer’s awareness and lifted the pressure off him, then said, "Although still the Deceiver, now is not the time to worry about that. The demons will soon launch a probing attack, you are a veteran of the battlefield, you should know what scale it will be."

Bayer, not a fool, immediately understood Amberser’s meaning.

The first layer of hell changing hands, the demons would certainly take advantage of the chaos. Bayer, having fought for so many years, quickly estimated the enemy’s scale of attack and suggested to Amberser, "We need to request reinforcements from other layers of hell immediately. Based on past experience, the troop strength at Blood River Fortress is insufficient; we need at least five hundred thousand elite troops, only temporary redeployment from other layers of hell will work."

What Bayer referred to as elites weren’t merely troops suitable for victorious battles; these were like Zariel’s Hell Knights, Personal Guards that only the lords of each layer of hell could supply such true armies.

Amberser shook his head and said, "This time, we have no reinforcements, we can only rely on ourselves."

"That’s impossible!" Bayer exclaimed, "Resisting The Abyss has always been a matter for the entire Hell, without the support of other Archdukes of the Devils, how can we fight this battle?"

Amberser sighed and then said, "Don’t ask anymore, do what we can. As for the troop strength you mentioned, I’ll make up for it. If it’s not elite troops, how many would be enough?"

Bayer anxiously said, "Numbers are useless, we are facing a great demonic army. Even masses of weak Little Demons like those from the wilderness would scatter at the sight of the demons."

Amberser asked, "What if it were tens of millions of fearless Little Demons? If they possessed the ferocity to bite at the demons even after being beheaded?"

Bayer shook his head and said, "Then they wouldn’t be devils."

Amberser chuckled and said, "Exactly, I’m not talking about devils. Don’t forget, before descending to hell, I was a Lich. And Liches specialize in the tactics of overwhelming numbers!"
