Chapter 741: Chapter 616: The Deceiver with Wide Connections_2

After Bayer discovered his own problems, Zariel knew his days were numbered. No matter how cautious Bayer was, he would continue probing, and soon he would uncover all of Zariel’s plans.

Zariel decided to take the initiative.

While Bayer was still wrangling with Hircine, Zariel had already infiltrated Blood River Fortress.

Thanks to his familiarity with the fortress and the various permissions still in his hands, Zariel’s infiltration was silent. Not until Hircine and Bayer fell out and Harvey exploded out of the furnace did Zariel finally find Bayer’s weakness.

He took advantage of the moment Bayer was distracted and launched a successful surprise attack, smoothly sealing him.

But the instant Zariel made his move, he transformed completely into an angel and could no longer return to his past form.

The laws of the First Layer of Hell would soon begin to target him as an intruder, either slowly corrupting him back into a devil or killing him outright.

If that were all, Zariel was confident he could last a few years.

But the problem wasn’t just with Hell’s laws; there were countless devils as well.

The disturbance in the first layer would soon attract the attention of other Archdukes of the Devils, and perhaps even awaken the slumbering Lord of Hell.

Once these devils became aware of him, Zariel would have no hope.

The carefully planned strategy was already compromised; now Zariel’s only hope was Amberser.

Only Amberser could immediately communicate with Heaven Mountain and open a pathway for him to escape Hell.

Harvey was stunned upon hearing Zariel’s voice. What in the world was going on?

Harvey truly knew nothing; his memory was still stuck on the moment he drank tea with Hircine and then fell asleep.

Wasn’t it just a nap? How did he end up in Hell when he woke, and in the blink of an eye, come across a powerful devil and then see a holy angel?

In Harvey’s eyes, life had taken several major turns in just a few seconds.

It made even the typically calm young man Harvey exclaim, "Fate, damn, it’s thrilling!"

But despite his feelings, Harvey quickly reacted.

Whatever was missing, the most important thing now was to inform his teacher.

Harvey hastily searched his person for the Magic Mirror, only to discover he was empty-handed. Had it not been for the layer of phantom-like gauze clothing, he might’ve been completely naked.

Of course, Hircine wouldn’t allow Harvey to carry the Magic Mirror with him; what if Amberser discovered it?

Now, if Harvey wanted to inform his teacher, he immediately needed to find a Magic Mirror, and not just any—it had to be one that was ready for use.

But this was Hell, and Harvey was just a human. Could he take a few steps without being torn to shreds by those devils?

Harvey stroked his chin, pondering what to do.

Then, he looked at the thin layer of gauze on his body and quickly found the answer—do nothing.

Because as soon as he draped this gauze over himself, he acquired a special effect known as "Favored by the Goddess of Destiny."

The specific principle was very complex, and Harvey could write a bookshelf’s worth of papers on it, but in simple terms—it meant super luck!

While this gauze existed, Harvey didn’t have to do anything; the problems he encountered would naturally resolve themselves.

This was the Legendary Grace Harvey acquired after ascending to legendary status.

In theory, even if Hell were destroyed right now, Harvey would remain safe for some reason, without so much as scraping the top of his head.

Just earlier, the power clash between Zariel and Bayer was so strong that most of the palace was destroyed, but the shockwave in Harvey’s direction was all blocked by Zariel. The scattered rubble didn’t even touch a single hair on his head.

And now, Harvey needed a Magic Mirror...

Dense footsteps approached from outside the palace, as such a commotion couldn’t go unnoticed.

A fully armed group of devils charged in, each looking formidable enough to crush Harvey with ease.

But they were all too preoccupied with the enormous angel radiating Holy Light to care about Harvey.

Ignoring their better instincts, they charged towards Zariel and ignited upon getting close, their bodies swiftly turning to ash.

Only after deaths occurred did someone recognize that the angel was their own leader, Zariel.

A Fallen Angel turned into an Angel and was now scrapping with Duke Bayer?

The situation left the devils stunned, totally unsure of what to do.

In their moment of hesitation, wrenching screams sounded, and the devils began killing each other.

The assailants were ruthless, aiming for vital spots and with a clear numerical advantage.

In a matter of seconds, the battle ended; out of the dozen that entered the door, ten survived, the rest were dispatched with a single strike each.

Harvey watched this scene in confusion, utterly baffled by what had happened, until the surviving devils noticed him.

The leader, brandishing a long sword, pointed at Harvey and said, "There’s another! Kill him quick; we can’t let the news spread!"

Before Harvey could even speak in his defense, another devil interjected, "Wait, I know him; he’s the student of the Deceiver."

"The Deceiver?!"

As soon as the name was uttered, all the devils gasped, glancing around fearfully, dreading that the next second might bring deadly traps.
