Chapter 714: Chapter 606 The True Wish_2

Donald Grandet raised the lamp in his hand, and countless lights ahead ignited in response.

Magic Array’s full appearance finally unfolded before Gustavo Flint, with thousands of goblins brandishing whips to drive these slaves into the sacrificial area, their lives disappearing within the Magic Array.

Flint glanced casually and then noticed that the Magic Array had been extensively modified.

There are capable individuals among the goblins indeed, the modification could not be considered an improvement, but neither was it done haphazardly, it transformed a Magic Array, which could originally be used an infinite number of times, into a single-use design.

Seeing something related to his field of expertise, Gustavo Flint ignored the slaves,

"You only need to use the Wishing Spell once?" Gustavo Flint asked.

This kind of change was still quite recognizable, after all, it was a project he had been involved in for decades, and he was more familiar with the magic routes than his own bed in his home,

The goal of Alchemy City was for the initial chairman to gain the ability to use the Wishing Spell infinitely, bypassing Aeo to obtain power on par with a Deity.

But this group of goblins clearly wasn’t greedy, they only wanted to use the Wishing Spell once.

This greatly simplified the structure of the Magic Array, reducing a significant portion of the burden, no wonder they could complete most of it so quickly, the workload was much less than the original version of Alchemy City.

Donald Grandet said with a smile, "We’re not that greedy."

Gustavo Flint sneered, "Goblins not greedy? That’s a good joke."

Just as elves are synonymous with elegance, the lives of most goblins are influenced by their racial characteristics. Greed and brutality are their innate natures that they cannot extricate themselves from; perhaps rules can make them moderate to some extent, but it is impossible to truly change their nature.

"The prejudices of humans are also the heaviest among the races, perhaps it’s related to your chaotic nature. You can have saints of the highest nobility like Arthur Lane, as well as inhumane alchemy madmen like those from Alchemy City. Master Flynn, you should understand, the exemplary individuals of every race are those who have overcome their own flaws with a strong will.

"Goblins may be greedy, but I know restraint very well, I know what I want, that’s why our Goblin Bank has been operating till now, and always with a profit."

As he spoke these words, the old goblin’s demeanor also changed, his hunched body seemed taller than anyone else’s.

Gustavo Flint did not argue, this old goblin indeed was a character.

Nevertheless, he was still very curious and couldn’t help but ask, "What wish are you exactly going to make?"

Donald Grandet shook his head, "Now is not the time to discuss this, Master Flynn, let me first take you to meet someone."

"Someone? Do you have someone else directing this behind the scenes?"

"Of course, Master Flynn do you think a banker like myself would take such a big risk if it wasn’t for a very important client of mine? Come, it’s time to make things clear to you, after all, we don’t have much time left."

Gustavo Flint followed the old goblin, passing through the Magic Array, and then through a corridor filled with Magic Traps, until they reached a huge room.

Donald Grandet knocked on the door respectfully, then opened it and said to Gustavo Flint, "Master Flynn, Lord Yuri is waiting for you inside."

The old goblin implied that he didn’t have the privilege to enter, forcing Gustavo Flint to push the door open himself and enter the room.

The room was large but simply furnished, and what it contained the most were books of various kinds, Flint glanced over them and saw many related to alchemy.

Could it be that this Lord Yuri was the builder of the Magic Array?

Which "Legendary Alchemist" could this possibly be, why had he never heard of this name before?

He looked around for a while but didn’t find anyone else in the room. Just as he was pondering, a short figure emerged from behind a pile of books.

The diminutive figure was holding a thick Alchemist’s notebook; after closing the book, he politely bowed to Gustavo Flint and said, "Greetings, Master Flint, hello, my name is Seth Yuri."

Gustavo Flint scrutinized the other person closely, then came to a perplexing conclusion.

This Seth Yuri didn’t have green wrinkled skin or pointed ears. Instead, he boasted a solid build of muscle... This was not a goblin, but a dwarf—a young one, judging by his beard.

Seth Yuri said with a smile, "Master Flint, it seems you are quite surprised, don’t worry, we have enough time to clear up your confusion, please, take a seat."

The young dwarf waved his hand, and numerous roots sprouted from the ground, intertwining to form a simple set of table and chairs.

"That’s quite an impressive Natural Magic, are you a Druid?"

Druids were envoys who practiced the ways of nature, their ranks not limited to any particular race, anyone could become a Druid as long as they followed the teachings of the Father of the Oak. However, becoming a Druid often meant renouncing their race and kingdom, somewhat akin to certain religions.

Seth Yuri sat down and said to Gustavo Flint, "I’ve just studied a bit of Natural Magic. I admire those Druids who practice the path of nature, but I couldn’t bear the life of an Ascetic Monk. By the way, I don’t have any tea, but I can offer you a cup of floral dew."

Seth Yuri tapped on the table, and two vibrant flowers grew, pouring a little sweet nectar into the wooden cups on the table.

Gustavo Flint had no interest in drinking any floral honey. All he knew was that the dwarf before him was extraordinary. Not being a Druid, yet able to cast such high-level Natural Magic, this person’s magical talent was terrifying.

This was a dwarf!

Dwarves were known for not being skilled in magic.

Just as the old goblin had said, every distinguished individual within a race was someone who had broken through their own limitations, but how come he had never heard of such a powerful dwarf?

Had he shown his abilities in the kingdom, he would have been immediately employed by the King.

"I think we should get to the point quickly. Mr. Yuri, what exactly is your collaboration with Grandet Bank Director, and why do you need me to preside over this ritual? I just looked over the Magic Array, it’s almost ready, it can be completed in at most two months, you shouldn’t be facing any bottlenecks."

Seth Yuri praised, "Not bad, Master Flint, true to your expertise, you’ve spotted the progress of the project at a glance. This is precisely why I need your help because we can’t wait two months, we need the Magic Array to be completed within three days. Even if you hadn’t come to me today, I would have personally sought you out."

"Three days? Why the urgency?"

Gustavo Flint didn’t quite understand. They had been secretly working on this project for so long, why the sudden acceleration? Could it be the Dwarf Kingdom had discovered the Magic Array?

Seth Yuri seemed to read Gustavo Flint’s thoughts and shook his head, "No, our work has always been very cautious, there is no risk of discovery. But in three days, the All Nations conference will begin. I must complete the Wishing Spell before the All Nations conference starts."

Gustavo Flint asked curiously, "What are you planning to do? What is your wish?"

Seth Yuri said, "I hope you can remain calm after you hear it."

Gustavo Flint chuckled, "Back then, we even abandoned Alchemy City, what could be crazier than that?"

Seth Yuri nodded, "Right, I need someone like you. So, I might as well tell you the truth. Once the ritual is complete, I will make a wish for the current Dwarf King to die."

Gustavo Flint’s eyes widened; this was indeed a bit more than he had anticipated.
