Chapter 639: Chapter 561 Old Acquaintances Reunion_3

"I feel that this is my chance to ascend to divinity. Mortals must shine in order to be seen by Aeo; if even the God above Gods cannot see me, how could I possibly ascend to divinity?"

"You’re really sick, even if Aeo truly saw you then, it would be a simple matter of a finger to crush you to death!"

Amberser retorted, "Who can be certain of the God above Gods’ preferences?"

"Forget about Aeo, aren’t you afraid that by causing such a commotion, you might wake the sleeping one? The master of the Nine Layers of Hell has never had a reputation for good temper. Before Aeo grants you Divine Nature, likely, that Devil’s Deity will have already drawn out your soul. You don’t think you’ll be safe just by hiding in a mirror, do you?"

Salvador could sense that Amberser’s state was special. Ordinary Grand Dukes of Hell might have no way to deal with Amberser, but Asmodeus was different; He is the incarnation of Hell, said to be born alongside Hell. His power couldn’t be estimated with so-called great Divine Power.

Perhaps Asmodeus wasn’t particularly adept at fighting, but He was definitely an existence on the same level as Corellon and the Magic Goddess.

Corellon’s arrows could instantaneously pierce through countless planes, lock onto Amberser’s soul, and not even taking refuge in the Divine Realm of the God of Alchemy could evade such an arrow. The Magic Goddess could easily break the magic circuits of the Magic Mirror and pull Amberser out from within it.

Certainly, Asmodeus must have similar methods.

Being the Magic Mirror Spirit would only allow Amberser to bully Zariel; in front of Asmodeus, it would definitely not suffice.

"No rush, I am merely starting to boast now. That Lord of Hell wouldn’t come to kill me just because He caught wind of some noise. I still have time to research and prepare slowly," Amberser said.

Confirming that Amberser had no intention of giving up, Salvador could only shake his head and say, "Then I can’t help you; this matter is only within the purview of deities. The power I possess was granted by the Steel Duke, and it doesn’t work well outside of the Second Layer of Hell; I’m of no help to you at the Blood War battlefield on the first layer of hell."

"Don’t belittle yourself so. Even a piece of toilet paper or a lump of mud can play a role, let alone the Clerk of the Second Layer of Hell."

"Thanks for the sarcastic praise. If there’s nothing else, you can get lost, and do not disturb me again," Salvador retorted.

Without hesitation, Salvador issued a command for Amberser to leave.

Grinning, Amberser said, "You call this a disturbance? I could help you resolve a deep-seated issue. Laine has been reborn, and that’s thanks to me. I am on equal terms with Arthur Laine, you should address me with respect."

"Get out! Just get out!"

Salvador couldn’t help but pick up his desk, ready to hurl it.

The desk, crafted from pure obsidian and weighing dozens of tons, felt as light as a feather in Salvador’s hands.

"Alright, I’ll stop joking," said Amberser, his expression turning serious. "Salvador, whether or not you regret the evil deeds you committed in the past, since you’re in Hell and my friend’s family has been taken to the Divine Realm of the Dwarven Gods, and I personally avenged them, we’re even.

"I won’t blackmail you with your past crimes, and I won’t force you to work for me by using Laine as leverage.

"But let me say this to you: didn’t you once wish to change Laine with your own power? Have you just tossed aside that ambition? Ending the Blood War would be a magnificent feat. Think it over whether you want to join this grand endeavor. Surely you don’t want to be remembered just as a Clerk without anyone even knowing your name?"

Salvador remained silent, set down the desk, and with a flick of his hand, turned off the Magic Mirror’s screen. Yet, after Amberser disappeared, the Clerk was silent for a long while, eventually murmuring to himself, "The Blood War... it’s too ancient, and even looking up information on it is difficult."

Amberser didn’t force the Magic Mirror in front of Salvador open again; this meeting had already provided him with plenty of information, at least hinting at a seemingly hopeful direction.

Exile a branch of the Nether River, then find an alternative means of punishment. Regardless of the difficulty, he at least knew what had to be done.

But Amberser was not in a hurry to do this. He soon arrived before another Magic Mirror and said to Melina, who was training, "Bring that Little Demon who provided information on Salvador here."

Melina immediately ordered the Little Demon to be brought over, then seized the opportunity to ask, "Father, what’s wrong? Is there new information?"

"There is information, but that’s not what I’ll be discussing next," Amberser replied.

The Little Demon was quickly led before Amberser, and upon meeting again seemed much more spirited, probably due to being well-fed recently, which seemed to have even strengthened him a bit.

But he was still just a Little Demon, barely daring to breathe in Amberser’s presence, and stood with his head hung low, awaiting Amberser’s lecture.

Amberser’s first words frightened him half to death.

"It was Parurier, that crazy woman, who sent you, wasn’t it? Where is she?"

This wasn’t Amberser just trying to scare him; Salvador himself had kept his name under wraps, so how could a Little Demon know such a secretive name?

There had to be someone behind it, and the only one who would risk offending a figure as big as Salvador to stir up trouble... was likely that madwoman!

Before the Little Demon could speak, a seductive figure appeared before Amberser.

"Ohoho, long time no see; you’re as sharp as ever," said the figure.

Standing before Amberser, Parurier inquired, "Missed me, you damned scoundrel?"
