Chapter 626: Chapter 554 Enemies Can Also Be Helpers_3
The thoughts of the God above Gods are truly unfathomable, before, the so-called rules were merely conjectures made by the deities based on past events, Aeo never personally admitted what the standards for deification are.
Perhaps, this God above Gods really saw something special in Amberser and wanted to see him create miracles again.
End the Blood Battle?
Something that even all gods could not do, could he truly accomplish it?
The demons of the Endless Abyss are of the Chaotic Evil Faction, they cannot be influenced by "reason" or "benefit," unable to eradicate that destructive desire, the Blood Battle will never cease.
The God of Alchemy couldn’t understand how Amberser planned to do it, but He was not in a hurry, after all, Amberser no longer had a lifespan problem, so why not take it slow. The Blood Battle has been fought for so many years, a thousand or so more wouldn’t make much of a difference.
However, the God of Alchemy asked, "What does ending the Blood Battle have to do with summoning those enemies of yours?"
"Didn’t I just say? I have too few people I can use around me. Teacher, you might not be aware, but during the several hundred years I drifted through the Prime Material Plane, I was driven to desperation more than once. Although I always won in the end, many victories were by sheer luck.
Although those opponents eventually died by my hand, it doesn’t mean they were fools. On the contrary, there were too many clever people among my enemies, many times I won solely because the Goddess of Fate favored me. If they could lend a hand, then maybe there would be a glimmer of hope in ending the Blood Battle."
Amberser really was short on people.
There were not many around him capable of thinking strategically, let alone Melina, Withered Rose was mostly able to provide manpower and material resources, making it difficult to give any advice on the bigger picture.
Every time Amberser had to do something that would turn the world upside down, he seemed like a madman, even the Archdukes of the Devils had a hard time keeping up with Amberser’s ideas.
Kidnapping a goddess was a goal others would not even dare to imagine, yet in the end, it was Amberser alone who pondered all the angles. Only a madman can understand a madman, just like the enemies Amberser had encountered before.
There were many names on that long list that Amberser remembered vividly.
If the tables were turned, and the resources and abilities possessed by Amberser were given to the other side, he might have been the one to lose. Now that Amberser had to achieve even more unimaginable great feats, he could only work with madmen.
The Goddess of Wealth couldn’t help but say, "You intend to lure your enemies out and make them your helpers? This idea is too outrageous, with your past performance, those who have been harmed by you probably hate you to death."
Amberser said with a smile, "Zariel also wanted me dead, but what’s hatred compared to interest? When they were against me, was it because they were jealous of my good looks? It was just a dispute over interest. And now, I have wealth beyond their imagination, so I have the chance to make them set aside their hatred and work for me. Oh, there could be one that’s a bit more troublesome..."
The God of Alchemy and the Goddess of Wealth asked simultaneously, "Who?"
An enemy mentioned specifically by Amberser must indeed be no ordinary foe.
Amberser did not go into detail, but casually answered, "A crazy woman... forget it, she may have dissipated long ago, unlikely to have survived for hundreds of years in hell, and given her temperament, she might have already been turned into Soul Currency. But if she really did survive, then with her personality, she might have already become a very powerful Devil Lord."
The God of Alchemy retorted, "Perhaps not just one, those enemies you remember, aren’t each of them quite competent? If they all survived to this day, then what you’ll be facing is not just a group of enemies, but a group of powerful Devil Lords."
Amberser said helplessly, "Teacher, you’re the God of Alchemy, don’t curse like the Goddess of Fate."
And as they were talking, an enemy did indeed come knocking at the door.
Just as the God of Alchemy had said, those enemies of Amberser who had managed to survive thus far were mostly not to be trifled with.
Outside of Melina’s domain, a vast army of devils was arrayed in formation, with at least twenty or thirty thousand in number and apparently well-equipped, not your average ragtag troops.
The other side was fully armed, ready to attack at any moment, and leading them was a Cambion with a grim face.
Though Cambions are generally not too strong, being half-demons, this one was different. He towered over Monica the Succubus, his entire being brimming with surging magical power.
Standing before the gates of Melina’s fortress, the Cambion bellowed in anger, "Come out! Arthas! You had the guts to deceive me with a false name, and now you don’t have the courage to face me?! Come out, you lowly, shameless charlatan!"
Melina almost couldn’t hold herself back from rushing out to stab the Cambion to death upon hearing this message.
But through the Magic Mirror came the voice of Amberser, "Calm down, Melina, he is here for me."
"Father, he’s insulting you!"
Melina clenched her fists until they cracked, absolutely not allowing anyone to insult her parents, especially her father, the smartest man in the world.
Amberser consoled her, "What insult? Pay it no mind. Let me see who this person is."
Having soothed his angry daughter, Amberser controlled the Magic Mirror to fly out of the fortress.
The palm-sized mirror rapidly grew until it was as large as a city wall. As Amberser’s special appearance with black hair and black eyes emerged on the mirror’s surface, the Cambion’s eyes widened.
The Cambion roared again, "It’s indeed you! Damned Arthas, I will never forget that face."
"Arthas, is that the name you’re speaking of... the Tiflin from the Kingdom of Impure Hymns?"
The pseudonym Arthas was one that Amberser used more often while traveling through the Kingdom of Impure Hymns, and it would be reasonable for a Tiflin, a half-demon, to turn into a Cambion after descending into Hell.
But who was this?
This person’s appearance must have changed greatly after being transformed into a demon, as Amberser could not match him with any enemy in his memory.
Hearing Amberser’s question, the Cambion squeezed a name through his teeth, "Colbado! Jacques Colbado! You should remember this name, shouldn’t you?! You damned swindler, wretched slave!"
Amberser: ...
It seems, I don’t remember.
Amberser shook his head awkwardly, "Oh well, if I can’t remember, they usually aren’t important. Melina, go ahead and act. This person is of no use."
Just as the imposing Cambion had yet to vent his anger, the fortress gate burst open. An impatient Melina, along with a small contingent of Devil Cavalry, charged out from within.
"Idiot, still daring to open the gate?!"
This so-called Jacques Colbado, a Devil Lord, waved his hand, and his immense power connected with his elite troops, producing layers of Shields in front of the battle line. These Magic Shields were not only defensively powerful but also bore sharp spikes that could reflect damage back to the attacker!
This was his special forte; any opponents recklessly charging in would end up battered and bleeding before Jacques Colbado’s Defensive Magic.
However, this time his opponent was Melina.
The pale blue light of the Whispering Tree enveloped and dissolved the formidable Spiked Shields as if they were mere illusions.
The Cavalry charged, cutting through the ranks.
