Chapter 487: Chapter 449: Organizing a Divine Battle_2
Ocean Deities would not allow the Koutoa Murlocs to be annihilated.
Koutao Mermaid Goddess Brivodup let out a hysterical laugh, and then said, "He can do nothing, hahaha, he will only endure the wrath of Talos, I just need to watch the show, that’s right! Just watch the show!"
Amberser discarded the now-useless Black Tide and flew toward his Gold Coin Island at supersonic speed.
Contrary to what Brivodup had imagined, Amberser had no intention of starting with the Koutoa Murlocs, nor had he ever considered exterminating the species.
Because that would be a complete violation of the rules. When a race faces extinction, Brivodup’s actions against Amberser would no longer be restricted by Aeo, which was a basic rule Amberser understood from divine knowledge.
Aeo wouldn’t allow deities to simply await death; when a racial god faced the extermination of their race, they would be permitted to save their own kind. However, by that time, it might only be possible to barely keep the race alive.
Amberser had never considered such a troublesome and roundabout approach to deal with the Koutao Mermaid Goddess.
After all, his goal was to wrap up the Shrimp-head Goddess and deliver her to Talos, not to destroy the race; one should not put the cart before the horse.
Therefore, he was prepared to start directly with the Koutao Mermaid Goddess.
The supersonic flight quickly brought Amberser back to Gold Coin Island, where he then took out the Magic Mirror to contact Katherine.
Katherine asked Amberser worryingly, "I teleported away before the airship crashed, are you alright?"
Amberser nodded and said, "No problem, it’s just the loss of an airship."
The last few words seemed to squeeze out between his teeth; self-detonation would hardly be as damaging. The Black Tide had undergone numerous modifications, and its cost could no longer be measured in just Gold Coins but also had high technical value.
In the end, Amberser spent a fortune to unleash the Decree of Death, which wiped out a large number of Koutoa Murlocs at once, but the expense made his Soul tremble.
But no matter, all expenditures would be rewarded, provided that he could deal with the Koutao Mermaid Goddess.
"Katherine, there’s a favor I need to ask of you, I need to contact the Elven Gods," Amberser said.
Seeing Amberser so solemn, Katherine said, "I will pray to the deities for you. What do you need me to convey?"
Amberser, however, shook his head and said, "I need a face-to-face conversation with your deity. This matter cannot be conveyed; it doesn’t matter which one, as long as they can represent the stance of the Elven Gods, I hope to communicate with them in person."
Katherine frowned and said, "That may not be easy."
The Elven Gods are so proud that they usually don’t respond to the prayers of ordinary believers, let alone personally descend to meet with Amberser. Even for matters as important as the Drow Elf, the Elven Gods only had Katherine relay messages.
Amberser wasn’t surprised and simply told Katherine, "This is the bare minimum requirement. If your god is unwilling to talk to me face-to-face, then there’s no need to involve them in this matter."
Amberser didn’t waste much time; after the conversation with Katherine, he switched the view on the Magic Mirror, and this time the reflection showed the God of Alchemy at work.
The God of Alchemy still held that crystal hammer, seemingly occupied with some experiment. Upon seeing Amberser, the God of Alchemy carefully set down the hammer first and then asked tentatively, "My dear student, don’t tell me you’ve provoked another powerful deity."
Amberser shook his head and said, "That’s not so easy to do, there aren’t that many powerful deities anyway."
"That’s right, even with your knack for trouble, it wouldn’t be possible for you to provoke two powerful deities in such a short span," the God of Alchemy then relaxed, picked up the hammer, and resumed work, continuing, "So what brings you to me this time?"
Amberser said calmly, "I plan to kidnap Koutao Mermaid Goddess Brivodup and offer her to Talos as a wife."
Clang!
The hammer of the God of Alchemy dropped again, blasting the table top into a heap of ashes for the second time.
The soot-covered God of Alchemy waved away the smoke, not having had the chance to restore the experiment, and said angrily, "What are you thinking! The Divine Realm of the Koutao Mermaid Goddess is in the Gloomy Abyss of the Water Elemental Plane. Are you expecting me to sneak in there and kidnap Her?!"
"Is it impossible?" Amberser countered.
The God of Alchemy said angrily, "Of course, it’s impossible. I am the God of Alchemy, not the god of kidnapping. Let’s not even talk about whether I can find Her in the Water Elemental Plane; even if I did, it’s a death sentence for me! Why do you think Talos dares to reveal the entrance to his Divine Realm to the Gods? Because a deity in their own Divine Realm is at their strongest, if I were to enter Brivodup’s Divine Realm, I would die there!"
"Indeed, relying on you alone won’t do," Amberser sighed. "But what if we add other deities to the equation?"
"Other deities? Who are you referring to?" asked the God of Alchemy.
Amberser replied, "I am in the process of finding them. The first target is the Elven Gods. If Corellon is willing to assist, Brivodup will have no choice but to surrender!"
The Elven God-King Corellon is a powerful deity who could contend with the Magic Goddess for the title of ’First under Aeo’ in a fair duel, no one could stand against Corellon’s arrow.
Yet, the God of Alchemy shook his head, "You’re thinking too much. The Elven Gods have just started a war with Rose. Even though Rose has weakened, that side is not to be trifled with. Corellon simply has no time to help you, nor would he ever assist you against another deity."
"It doesn’t hurt to try, and what if it works? Besides, the Elven Gods are only my first choice of ally. The second is Lady of Mist, Laila, who will definitely not refuse my invitation," Amberser said.
The God of Alchemy continued shaking his head, "Considering her current situation, still under Sylvanas’s protection, it doesn’t matter what she thinks, it matters whether Sylvanas allows it or not."
But Amberser spoke with confidence, "I will find a way. Aside from the two, I am also planning to approach Zariel and Goddess Tiamat."
The God of Alchemy said in shock, "Are you insane? Doing business with the Archduke of the Devils is asking for trouble. Have you forgotten what you did before?"
Amberser’s swindling of two Archdukes of the Devils was by now well-known among the Gods, and Zariel and Goddess Tiamat had suffered a great loss of face because of him. They likely harbored deep hatred for Amberser; it was unthinkable that they would agree to help.
"Pride is a useless thing for mortals, let alone for devils. I naturally have ways to ask these two for help; I might even win over a few Archdukes of the Devils in the process. Have you forgotten, teacher? I can create Soul Currency, and with money, I can make the devils grab a bride for me!"
The God of Alchemy was stunned by Amberser’s words. Had his student already established such strong connections among the deities without him noticing?
With a sigh, the God of Alchemy said, "Do you know what you’re doing? My dear student, you’re organizing a war among deities!"
Amberser replied calmly, "Last time, I declared to everyone in this plane that no one could dictate terms to me anymore. It turned out quite well; at least all mortals now understand that this Lich is not to be provoked. However, some deities still don’t understand me well enough. This time, I will make a declaration to the Gods, to make them understand the weight of this mortal. Unless Aeo himself steps in to stop me, Brivodup is as good as kidnapped!"
The God of Alchemy sighed, "Alright, I get your point. After all, my deity position was a gift from you. I will join you in this madness. But give me some time, I might be able to recruit some more valuable allies for you."
Thinking for a moment, Amberser exclaimed in shock, "More valuable allies? Are you possibly referring to the Lord of Knowledge, Ogma?!"
No way, no way?
That would be a deity as powerful as the Magic Goddess!
Unfortunately, the God of Alchemy quickly shattered his illusion, by shaking his head, "Ogma just appreciates my abilities; he is not my friend. I can’t possibly ask for his involvement, so don’t even think about it. However, the Goddess of Wealth might be a good choice."
