Chapter 439: Chapter 411: Seeking the Deity of the Ocean

Amberser turned off the Magic Mirror and sighed.

Aige smiled and said, "What’s wrong? Did you make Rose sister mad? You two even have a child together—are your feelings that unstable?"

Amberser could only remain silent.

After a while, the atmosphere became so awkward that Aige started picking at her toenails, realizing that she had once again ruined the mood by speaking up. She really wasn’t the kind of person who was good at making conversation.

Fortunately, Amberser didn’t stay embarrassed for long. He quickly changed the subject and said, "We don’t have to worry about the Fury Tide Kingdom. The contract has already been signed, just waiting for the handover with Gold Coin Island and Dragon Island. Then we can start building the Alchemy Factory. In at most half a year, it should be able to begin operation."

Luckily, since Alchemy City exploded, a ton of alchemy machinery was being sold off cheap, and Amberser could quickly get his hands on the finished products through some connections.

Now, the automation of alchemy was already very advanced. After some brief training, work could commence. By the time Isabel arrived to take charge for a while, the factory would be able to produce steadily.

Everything was heading in a good direction, and Amberser couldn’t help but smile again, but he quickly composed himself.

One mustn’t get ahead of oneself in triumph. It wouldn’t be too late to be happy once the shiny gold coins were in one’s pocket.

With that thought, Amberser calmed down and said to Aige, "Senior, should we continue to search for the Mermaid Goddess now, or should we take a look at the Volcanic Ocean Region?"

The Kingdom of Impure Hymns had originally built a large number of Gates of Hell. Being constantly influenced by the breath of Hell, the nation’s volcanoes gradually all became active.

When the land of the Kingdom of Impure Hymns disappeared, magma poured out from the Earth’s crust, meeting the water flooding in from the sea. Thus, all marine creatures now referred to this new ocean region as the Volcanic Ocean Region.

As large amounts of magma erupted, the seabed environment changed dramatically. It was too hostile before, so no maritime powers ventured there.

Several months have passed, and the volcanic vents that needed cooling have cooled, the ones that needed plugging have been plugged, and the sea temperature has slowly dropped to a level suitable for marine life to settle.

So, it was just in time for Amberser and his crew that they encountered a great struggle over ocean territory—the odd and peculiar intelligent marine lifeforms were all eager to claim the new land.

This was the size of an entire kingdom, covering hundreds of thousands of square kilometers—not to mention the three-dimensional space underwater, which could provide how much food and sustain how many people?

A big fat piece of meat was up for grabs, and no ocean power could ignore it.

Amberser continued, "If the deities enter the fray for these waters, showing our strength directly on the battlefield might make it easier to catch the attention of the deities."

The two intended to seize the faith of marine creatures, but most intelligent beings already had their deities. Amberser would rather use negotiation to borrow the Power of Faith. As long as he helped Aige achieve Deification, there was no need to actually go to war with the deities.

But the problem was that Aige didn’t usually interact with the Murlocs, so now she could only communicate with the ocean deities through Murloc priests.

Now that things had become chaotic in the ocean, it seemed more appropriate to go to the Volcanic Ocean Region to find someone.

Aige was also pondering this matter, having never expected to seek help from others, which left her uncertain of the best course of action.

"Entering the Volcanic Ocean Region now will definitely cause trouble, right? Aren’t you afraid it might impact our plan?" Aige asked.

What if she arrived in the Volcanic Ocean Region and was perceived as coming to steal territory?

It wasn’t about not being able to fight; it’s that they didn’t come for a fight. How would that be any different from directly seizing faith?

Aige sought Deification not for liberation but to pray for Aeo to revive her shipwright father. Hence, she didn’t want to create too much conflict with other deities. Otherwise, who would have time to ask Aeo for help if they were busy fighting divine wars after becoming a deity?

Amberser thought for a moment and then said, "There’s that possibility, but it doesn’t necessarily mean we can’t solve the issue. According to what you said, the Roca Murlocs under the command of Goddess Yizhuoluo are numerous but not very adept at fighting. Moreover, the Mermaids are quite a distance from these waters. If we can secure a territory for the Goddess first, it might serve as a calling card to gain her favor."

Offending deities was inevitable when claiming faith. There were many hostile gods among the Ocean Deities, and helping one meant offending another. It would be better to straightforwardly make an impression.

Yizhuoluo belonged to the Absolute Neutral Camp and did not reject the Undead. Furthermore, Her followers were numerous, making Her the best partner for Aige.

But rushing to grab some territory now—it was uncertain whether Goddess Yizhuoluo would accept it or not.

It was a risk that might not yield a corresponding reward for the price paid.

Therefore, Amberser didn’t make the decision for Aige. He only shared his speculation with her, allowing Aige to decide for herself. After all, when it came time to fight, it would be the Silent Night Pirate Group’s Undead who would take the lead, with Amberser merely playing a supporting role.

Aige seemed to have no concept of time, perhaps because she was accustomed to the undifferentiated days and nights of the deep sea. She pondered for a full two hours.

Just as Amberser was running out of patience, Aige suddenly looked up toward the direction of the ship’s bow.

"Senior, what’s happening?" Amberser asked.

"There’s a large group of sea creatures fighting ahead, and the battlefield is moving towards us. In a few dozen meters, it’ll collide with us."

Battles under the sea are three-dimensional; attacks come from above, below, left, and right, so marine creatures are constantly on the move while fighting, often covering dozens of kilometers in the course of a battle.

Now the battlefield was moving towards the Silent Night Pirate Group, and would soon draw them in.

"Which species are fighting?" Amberser asked again.

Aige sensed for a moment before quickly finding the answer, "It’s the Yixi Manta Rays and the Sharkwa Fishmen; neither are easy to bargain with."

The Yixi Manta Rays worship the Demon Prince Dimogorgen, typifying cruel and violent creatures. The Sharkwa Fishmen aren’t much better; their deity, Sekola, is notoriously savage and brutal. The two deities had held a grudge for countless years, with their followers engaged in a battle to the death.

According to Aige’s sensing, this was just a small faction of Sharkwa Fishmen that had encountered an ambush by the Yixi Manta Rays while out hunting. The Sharkwa Fishmen had suffered heavy losses, and the Yixi Manta Rays were relentlessly pursuing them.

As the Sharkwa Fishmen fought and retreated, they drew the battlefield toward them.

"The numbers aren’t significant; the two sides together amount to just over a thousand," Aige told Amberser. "Do we avoid them, join in, or kill them all?"

Sekola wasn’t a good partner to work with, so Amberser had never considered dealing with the Sharkwa Fishmen. And as for Dimogorgen, well, that went without saying—collaborating with devils might be profitable, but partnering with demons was sheer folly.

Neither side was any good, so Aige didn’t mind wiping them all out. As long as the number of Yixi Manta Rays wasn’t too exaggerated, Aige could handle the demon toxins. At worst, it was like having a hangover; a little rest would be enough.

Before Amberser could conclude, Aige suddenly spoke again, "Strange, someone has entered the battlefield."

"Ah? Who has come?" Amberser asked urgently.

Aige traced a finger through the water, which twisted and bubbled into many foam shapes. These bubbles slowly formed the shape of a humanoid figure. Aige said to Amberser, "Is this that fool you talked about? That guy named Aeolus?"

Though the foam outlines were unclear, Amberser immediately recognized the fool.

He was still dressed in the clothes Amberser had given him, now tattered and frayed, brandishing a trident and weaving through both camps.

The sea seemed like part of his body, continuously shredding the Sharkwa Fishmen and Yixi Manta Rays before sucking them into his mouth.

"He’s gotten stronger!" Amberser said, surprised. "How many days has it been?"

Is this what divine blessings can do? After just a few days without seeing him, Aeolus’s display put pressure on Amberser. This control over the currents was nearly as powerful as a Ninth Circle Spell.

However, Amberser soon smiled and said to Aige, "We won’t take sides, let’s help Aeolus instead."

Aige responded in surprise, "Aren’t you trying to sabotage his marriage with the Princess Raging Tide? And yet you’re helping him?"

Amberser explained, "Aeolus must have been sent by some deity to cause trouble, perhaps even a member of the Ocean Deities. It’s not easy to find a priest who can communicate with deities, and Aeolus is right here before us. Why not confirm who’s behind him first? We can decide later whether to work together or oppose each other, it won’t be too late."

Aige nodded and said, "Alright, we’ll do it your way."

The undead of the Silent Night Pirate Group weren’t the brightest; they’d howl and charge into a fight but raced to be the fastest runner when it came to tallying up the Gold Coins offered by the Fury Tide Kingdom.

Aige himself couldn’t be bothered with thinking too hard, it was easier to just listen to Amberser’s simple plans.

In the depths of the sea, over a dozen Ghost Ships powered forward at full speed, smashing straight into the midst of the battlefield.

This time, Aige had brought out all the strength of the Silent Night Pirate Group, including many Ghost Ships that had only recently been converted.

This undersea fleet had never met its match across the seven seas, and this time was no different.

The Ghost Ships crashed into the Sharkwa Fishmen and Yixi Manta Rays, and the Specters aboard, like exploding fish, swirled and danced crazily in the depths. Vast Dark Magic Power transformed into various Necromancy Spells, blasting enemies into a blur of flesh and blood.

Then, numerous undead murlocs leaped from the ships, raising their tridents high as they charged into enemy ranks.

Spear Fil was the most ruthless, utterly disregarding that the enemies were also Sharkwa Fishmen. The undead are the undead; they care not for their prior Race. Fil’s spear whirled into a vortex, pulling in and dicing the Sharkwa Fishmen, at times thrusting forcefully to skewer several of them together.

Amberser had no chance to act himself; the name of the Silent Night Pirates was forged in battle, and handling these few foes was effortless.

Amberser thus focused entirely on Aeolus, contemplating how to coax out the deity behind him afterward.
