Chapter 397 - 369 Whose Wedding?
Chapter 397: Chapter 369 Whose Wedding?
Amberser never expected the future he saw would be a wedding.
However, what was outrageous was that the prophetic vision he received was extremely blurry, and he could vaguely make out a man and a woman dressed in splendid wedding attire, taking their vows under the blessings of the crowd.
The action appeared to be about to kiss, but the details of their faces were completely unclear.
As for the attire, it was long wedding gowns, with just patches of yellow and white visible, and no clear view of the specific designs.
Despite Amberser’s extensive knowledge, he couldn’t deduce which kingdom the wedding dress came from based on such vague patches of color.
As for the guests around, there seemed to be many, but the clothing of the guests turned out to be colorful, with red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, purple, black, and white all present, and a row of figures that appeared to be bridesmaids stood to one side, yet there were no groomsmen on the groom’s side.
Which place’s customs were these?
Amberser recalled the few weddings he had attended, and they all seemed quite different.
But one thing he could be sure of was that the wedding took place on land.
"Strange, I divined the whereabouts of Sharkwa Fishmen, so how did I divine a wedding?"
Fate is so unpredictable, but Amberser wasn’t affected by this unclear future.
Divination is like this, interpret seriously if it can be interpreted, and do not blindly interpret if it can’t be deciphered. Like the last time, Amberser’s head fell off, only to find out that the one removing his head was not an enemy but Withered Rose.
Prophecy is just a reference, one must not overreact, or else the future could be pushed towards the abyss of tragedy.
So, Amberser decided to go about his business as usual, and to slowly inquire about the wedding later, to see if there were any important figures getting engaged or married in the next few years.
After the incident with the Giant Shark, the Ghost Ship sailed without any further obstructions, bringing Amberser to a trench in the sea.
This trench was different from the ones he had seen before; it was filled with more luminous fish, looking even more beautiful.
Melina was so excited her eyes became like searchlights, but as the Ghost Ship reached its destination, she obediently put away her playful spirit and followed Amberser onto a giant and lavish ship.
From afar, Amberser observed the Ghost Ship and clearly felt the change in Captain Aige.
This ghost ship maiden had become stronger again, and even outsiders could feel it.
Stepping onto the gangway, Captain Aige once again transformed into the form of a sea elf to greet Amberser.
"It’s been a while, Captain Aige," Amberser greeted, "It seems your strength has become even greater."
Aige nodded and said, "Thanks to you, you’ve cleared up the doubts that plagued me for hundreds of years and helped me find a direction to resolve my issues. My goal is to become a deity, to implore Aeo to resurrect my father, and that’s not an easy task. Naturally, I can’t be as idle as before."
The previous Aige was merely searching for a way to revive the Old Shipwright, mainly gathering information far and wide. Until Amberser told her that only Aeo could save her father, Aige naturally had to work hard to accumulate power.
Because of this goal, when Amberser said he wanted to help her become a deity, Aige didn’t hesitate to invite Amberser over for a detailed discussion.
After spending some time together, everyone in the Elegy Poetry Society understood just how formidable Amberser was.
This Lich could accomplish anything he promised, as long as the corresponding price could be paid.
And Aige had already prepared for these.
"Becoming a deity isn’t so simple, and I can only give you some advice. However, it looks like the original plan might need some adjustments. Captain Aige, I just happen to have acquired a bit of knowledge about deities by chance, which might help you become a deity faster, but first, I need to understand everything about you."
Amberser obtained the knowledge shared by the Lady of Mist. Although this goddess possessed weak divine power in both of her lifetimes, a deity is still a deity, and the world they perceive differs from that of mortals. A mortal might be able to kill a deity, but that does not mean they can possess a deity’s knowledge.
The knowledge shared by Laila was indescribable in words, so Amberser was unable to share it with Aige. He could only make use of this knowledge to see if it would help Aige become a deity.
Aige listened but did not immediately answer the question. Instead, she turned to Melina, "You must be Melina. I apologize for only talking to your father and neglecting you. Your mother and I are good friends; you don’t have to be nervous or keep staring at me."
Melina replied embarrassingly, "I’m sorry, I just think you’re very beautiful, sister."
"Call me Auntie Aige," she said with a smile. "I’m not as beautiful as your mother. I’ve been old friends with your parents, so you don’t need to flatter me."
Melina hurriedly explained, "No, I’m telling the truth. You’re more beautiful than Mother, I’m talking about the soul!"
After boarding the ship, Melina couldn’t stop staring at Aige; it looked like she was once again charmed by a beautiful older sister.
But in terms of appearance, Aige was far from the Elf Queen and also couldn’t quite compare to the Withered Rose. Melina saw more than just power; with her gold eyes, she saw the truth, the nearly divine light emanating from Aige’s soul, which mesmerized her.
Aige, noticing the golden hue in Melina’s eyes, sensed something extraordinary and said in surprise, "This child is indeed special. Your father can weave souls, and you can see the truest souls. No doubt you’re his flesh and blood."
To Amberser, Aige stated, "Undead giving birth to children, something not even the God of the Liches, Vishalon, can achieve. You’ve already harnessed power that surpasses that of deities. Deification is only a matter of time for you."
Amberser replied calmly, without false modesty, "I appreciate your kind words. However, let’s get back to the main topic. Captain Aige, please display all your power. I want to know everything about you in detail."
"It’s good we are all undead, or such words could easily be misunderstood," Aige said with a smile.
"Ah, this..." Amberser wanted to say he had no other intentions. After all, as undead, who would have any different feelings, and they certainly weren’t like Gareth and Pale Bone, that odd pair among the undead.
But recalling the prophecy he had heard earlier, Amberser furrowed his brow.
Could this also be a hint from fate, that this newly married couple actually had no feelings for each other?
That must be a political marriage, narrowing down the possibilities significantly!
Amberser was secretly pleased, but Melina committed the scene before her firmly to memory.
Before leaving, the Withered Rose had reminded her very seriously to remember everything her father said and did. Not a word or detail should be missed; everything needed to be remembered clearly, even if she didn’t understand. Only then could she become intelligent.
"I must remember everything clearly to report back to Mother, so she can teach me to be smart!" Melina thought.
With wide eyes, Melina watched Aige and Amberser, determined to document even the slightest fluctuation of the soul.
Aige had no idea what Amberser and Melina were thinking. All she knew was she had made a joke, and as a result, Amberser fell silent, and Melina had widened her eyes.
Aige felt a bit embarrassed. She was only joking. Had it been too long since she had a normal conversation with someone that she had gone too far?
"Ahem, what you want to know about is my Legendary Grace, right? Let’s find an open space, and I’ll show you," she promptly changed the subject and set the giant Ghost Ship in motion.
Amberser quickly asked, "Where are we going?"
"To exhibit my Legendary Grace, I need some enemies, and since you wanted to trouble the Githyanki, why don’t I take you to Dragon Island? We can also meet Gareth and Pale Bone on the way," Aige replied.
Aige thought to herself that with a couple more friends from the Elegy Poetry Society, the atmosphere might not be so awkward anymore.
