Chapter 395: Chapter 367: The Familiar Plot Again

By the time the news of the Ryan Royalty’s complete annihilation had spread beyond the Laine Empire, Amberser had already arrived at the shores of Emerald Dream Forest.

Amberser wasn’t planning on interfering with Laila’s task, content to offer some advice before leaving the Emerald Dream Forest.

This was the first task Sylvanas had given to Laila, and the Father of the Oak wasn’t too fond of the Undead, creatures that stepped outside the cycle of nature and refused to become nourishment for other beings even in death.

It was fine to make suggestions, but meddling could displease Sylvanas, which would not be good for Laila.

So Amberser dropped some hints with the Druids, and then continued onward to his next destination—Silent Night Sea.

Upon reaching the shore, Amberser once again met that familiar Fishman Zombie—Spear Fil.

He looked the same as always, his half-rotten body a bit of a sorry sight, but his trident was wrapped in a faint glow, as if he had traded it for a more powerful magic weapon.

"Ah, esteemed guest, I apologize for making you wait so long here."

The Fishman Zombie was as courteous as ever, warmly inviting Amberser and his companions aboard.

Amberser told Big Black and Husky to stay on the Black Tide with a task to deliver a message in a different direction to the Fury Tide Kingdom.

Using the name of the deceased Monger Greyriver, Amberser wrote a letter to Princess Raging Tide Airel. He might need the help of the Fury Tide Kingdom to deal with the Overseas Dragon Clan.

Whether the Fury Tide Kingdom would help was another matter; the key was to show them what Undead Alchemy Technology was all about.

They couldn’t sell a top-of-the-line battleship like Black Tide, but a lower-tier version was up for negotiations, as long as they could afford it.

Big Black and Husky were sharp enough to successfully complete the task, so Amberser took Melina aboard the Ghost Ship crewed by Fishman Zombies with peace of mind.

No sooner had she boarded the ship than Melina, like a child, couldn’t help but look around everywhere.

She had never seen what the ocean looked like, let alone the fact that the Ghost Ship was about to dive beneath the waves to explore a strange and fascinating underwater world.

She was supposed to be learning from Amberser, but her golden eyes pierced through the water, chasing after the schools of fish and forgetting everything else.

Amberser didn’t mind. The child wasn’t highly intelligent and wasn’t going to smarten up anytime soon; only time could smooth out her unlined brain and slowly leave its mark.

Amberser only stood on the deck, drinking with Fil. His Mecha body had been waterproofed, so there was no need to worry at all.

Still the same century-old wine, laced with toxins from Hell, capable of making even the souls of the Undead feel delirious and intoxicated.

"You have no idea, honored guest, how listlessly we’ve been living recently. Since we’re not raiding Fury Tide Kingdom’s ships anymore, there’s nothing worth taking on the high seas..."

Fil complained to Amberser. Their lives used to be exciting, but after forming a contract with the Fury Tide Kingdom, they seemed to have lost their purpose in life.

The "compensation" from the Fury Tide Kingdom hardly meant anything; the Undead didn’t spend money—they only enjoyed the few thrills that made their souls feel alive.

But there was no choice, the captain’s command was absolute. Aige was the master of the Silent Night Sea, and Phil could only complain to Amberser a couple of times.

"Are there no other targets than the Fury Tide Kingdom? Aren’t there plenty of murloc tribes?"

The ocean is much wider than the land; the number of murlocs could be more than ten times the entire continent’s population.

Phil, however, disdainfully said, "What is there to plunder from them? They scratch a living in the sea. Is there anything we can’t dredge up ourselves? Boring. Of course, it’s the things produced on land that are rare and interesting. Besides, picking on these low IQ fish-heads is really no fun at all."

Although Phil himself was a fishman zombie, just as Amberser never considered himself human, no matter what race one belonged to in life, once dead and undead, that race is the undead.

Human zombies also enjoy eating live human brains the most.

Amberser also realized that he had been thinking of them as ordinary pirates. These were undead pirates capable of diving! For them, treasures like the oddities of the seafloor were easy pickings.

"What about the Githyanki? Didn’t I hear they’re establishing their own city-states overseas?" Amberser asked.

At the mention of this, Phil perked up and told Amberser, "They do make for some fine rivals. When those warty toads first appeared, I led my minions into a skirmish with them --- quite the thrill, they even had dragons. It’s just that later, the captain ordered us not to conflict with these Gith, so we could only dive and hide in the deep sea."

"Distinguished guest, you’re here to lead us into battle, aren’t you? I’ve heard about it, you fought a war with the Laine People on land, a massive battle with hundreds of thousands. You wiped out tens of thousands of the Laine People, must have been exhilarating, right?!"

Amberser was a little speechless; what nonsense was being spread? After a few hundred kilometers, the news turned into rumors.

Phil seemed to be a battle maniac; it was likely his greatest obsession before death, just as Amberser loved money.

"This time, I’m actually here to discuss some matters with your captain. But if you’re looking for a fight, there won’t be a shortage because my targets are those Gith and the Dragon Race."

Upon hearing this, Phil immediately broke into a toothy grin, revealing his uneven sharp teeth, a sight quite unsettling, but he slapped Amberser on the shoulder and said, "That’s fantastic, deserving of the captain’s distinguished guest, good friend, good brother!"

Amberser, somewhat disgustedly, glanced at his shoulder armor, which now bore a pus-filled handprint, despite being made of mithril.

"By the way, in this great ocean, aside from the Dragon Race and the Gith, which is the most powerful intelligent race? Is it the murlocs?" Amberser inquired.

After thinking for a moment, Phil replied, "If you regard all murlocs as the same race, then indeed, they are the most formidable in size. However, the different races of murlocs are as distinct from one another as humans and Tiflin, completely different species. I was Sahara Murloc in life, those you’ve previously captured were Kuotuo Murlocs. During my life, I even considered Kuotuo Murlocs as food."

"But if you’re talking about power, then it’s the Mermaid Tribe who worships Yizhuoluo. They are not only numerous but also possess formidable spell casting abilities."

Mermaids, unlike murlocs, have the opposite description, just like their bodies.

Most mermaids possess human upper bodies and fish tails, whereas murlocs generally have fully developed limbs coupled with fish heads. Some murlocs retain tails on their backs, but they always have the heads of fish.

Because of this, mermaids are depicted as a kind of beautiful creature by humans. In stories, their attractiveness can rival that of elves, but in reality, most mermaids look quite like humans, with huge variations between beautiful and unattractive individuals.

If it were only the mermaids, it would be manageable, but mermaids that worship Yizhuoluo... Amberser was here to help Aige take over her worship; he might run into conflict with Yizhuoluo, the God of Mermaids.

No way, is it another familiar storyline of offending a goddess?
