Chapter 384: Chapter 357: Giving the World a Dose of Alchemy Shock

"Take it seriously, prayer is not child’s play, nor a joke, be persistent, be devout..." Arthur Laine diligently guided Amberser in praying to the Lord of the Dawn.

But in the end, it concluded amidst Amberser’s screams of agony.

Lying helplessly on the ground, Amberser said, "No way, getting my hands and feet chopped off back in the day didn’t hurt this much, I give up."

After being reminded of his achievements by his group mates for half a day, Amberser thought it was about time he sought a reward from the Lord of the Dawn.

So, he approached Arthur Laine and asked this Holy King for guidance on how to pray.

But it was pointless. As soon as Amberser felt a trace of Holy Light, his soul endured an excruciating pain as if he were being dismembered.

Holy Light was torture for the Undead, completely inescapable. He hadn’t felt such intense pain in decades, and it made him tremble all over.

Perhaps the Lord of the Dawn truly wished to offer him a chance for redemption, but Amberser lacked the steadfast will to accept it.

The very reason he chose to become a mage at the beginning was due to his fear of pain, not daring to wield a weapon and fight enemies head-on.

Now, facing the torture of Holy Light, Amberser decisively chose to quit.

Arthur Laine felt quite regretful, as he had never before seen a Holy Light skeleton.

"Forget it, I have no fate with Holy Light, unless the Lord of the Dawn gives me a backdoor, blesses me with immunity to Holy Light, otherwise, I’ll just remain an honest Lich."

Fearful of death, pain, and poverty, Amberser was not cut out to be a Paladin.

Having bid farewell to Arthur Laine, Amberser was prepared to head to the high seas.

He had important matters to attend to on this trip; first was to settle the troubles with the Dragon Race, and second was to help Aige reap faith to aid her Deification.

And thirdly, promote his alchemy products, earning some money while boosting the Divine Power of the God of Alchemy.

He had many goals, but as long as everything went smoothly, all could be achieved in passing.

Upon leaving his private space, Amberser saw Melina, fully armed and ready.

Melina excitedly said, "Father, are we setting off?"

Amberser nodded; this time, he planned to take Melina with him. The child was restless in Gloomyland; Withered Rose had tried to get her to manage the Fungus Folk and the Subterranean Dwarf slaves, but she was naive enough to end up mining rocks herself.

Withered Rose regretted focusing solely on combat traits, as Melina was not suited to be an heir, only as a valiant forward charger.

But Withered Rose had no choice, where else could she find so many Legendary warriors’ corpses to create another heir. Hearing that Amberser was leaving, she had no option but to send Melina to Amberser’s side, hoping she could learn from her father. Just grasping a tenth of his skills would be enough to rule the Underground Kingdom.

Amberser was also helpless. He had forgotten to add points to intelligence at that time; he was only focused on perfectly unleashing the body’s strength.

Now there was no other choice; it was time for after-sales service.

Amberser said to Melina, "Prepare to depart. But remember one thing: listen more, observe more, think more, but don’t talk too much. Don’t act without my command."

Melina promptly replied, "Understood, I will obey."

Though his daughter might be a bit simple-minded, she was still quite obedient, which was a great comfort to Amberser.

Amberser, with Melina in tow, boarded a streamlined airship.

This was Amberser’s private warship—the Black Tide. Amberser planned to travel to the high seas aboard this airship.

It wasn’t that he couldn’t use the Teleportation Circle, rather it was time to give those natives a dose of alchemy shock, to facilitate the establishment of the upcoming transport routes.

Black Tide was sixty-eight meters long with a very small capacity, at most fitting fifteen people. It wasn’t a transport ship but an air warship meticulously crafted by Amberser.

For this journey, other than Melina, Amberser also brought along Big Black and Husky, who had been assisting Harvey.

Hasting and Hales, who had followed Amber for quite some time, deserved an upgrade and to see more of the world.

Upon boarding the battleship and entering the cockpit, a cloud-like specter emerged from the crystal sphere at the center.

"Esteemed master, the Black Tide is ready to depart. Please issue your command."

Amberser said slowly, "Then let’s set sail, the Emerald Dream Forest is our destination."

"Understood."

The battleship vibrated slightly, then gently floated into the air.

It was the effect of the Featherfall Spell, making the thousands of tons battle-ship as light as a feather.

With the dual power of Dark Magic and alchemic engines, the energy output of this battleship could astonish any alchemist.

Amberser even considered starting a different branch of alchemy called Undead Alchemy.

But then he thought better of it; this kind of alchemy, built upon Legendary Grace’s special abilities, was something others simply couldn’t replicate—not really a discipline at all.

A glow radiated from the Black Tide’s hull and it quickly vanished from sight.

The next second, the airship appeared over the desert.

The Black Tide’s machine spirit reported, "Spatial transmission to the designated target is within the allowable margin of error."

Amberser nodded. Such short-distance targeted transmission was not difficult, as long as the coordinates were calculated in advance. The rest was just a matter of energy.

"Start all engines, test supersonic flight!"

At Amberser’s command, the Black Tide’s jet engines were activated, emitting high-speed airflows.

The Black Tide headed forward, the intense thrust pushing Amberser firmly into his metal chair.

Big Black tightly grasped the handrail with his mechanical arm, while Husky’s mercury-like body accidentally smeared onto the wall, flattened out like a pancake.

Only Melina managed to stand firm, even leaning on the glass to watch the view outside.

As the Black Tide accelerated, a white mist appeared in front of the airship, like air forming into matter then being shattered by the Black Tide.

The hull trembled, and the Black Tide began supersonic flight, leaving behind a sound like distant thunder that startled the Desert People on the ground.

A few thousand tons of massive bulk flying at supersonic speeds was a grand feat that not even scientists of the previous era could achieve, something only seen in sci-fi films.

And now, Amberser’s Undead Alchemy had done it!

However, the supersonic flight did not last long before the Black Tide’s machine spirit reported, "Master, the vibration frequency of the right hull has exceeded the estimated range. There is a possibility of breakage. The overall hull shaking has reached the critical value..."

Amberser sighed after a series of reports, "Slow down, maintain subsonic speed. Alas, the materials still aren’t up to par."

Despite spending much time designing and refining, the turbulence from high-speed flight caused vibrations in the outer armor of the airship.

This force was very powerful; ordinary steel definitely couldn’t withstand it. Amberser used various alloys to build it, but it seemed it still wasn’t enough.

"It seems only mithril could ensure supersonic flight for such a gigantic airship. But where would I find so much mithril? Even digging out the entire underground might not be enough."

After reducing the flying speed, the airship stabilized. Keeping a speed of six hundred kilometers per hour was the most energy-efficient, and that speed already surpassed any creature on the continent.

"Master, life responses detected ahead, likely a large group of harpies."

Upon hearing this, Amberser hurriedly said, "Slow down further, prepare for combat!"
