Chapter 332: Chapter 309: Druid Doomsday
Generally, a giant dragon wouldn’t directly bite its enemies in its mouth.
Because if it did that too often, sooner or later it would bite into something that explodes.
In the heritage memories of the Dragon Race, there is a very important piece of information: humans should be thoroughly cooked before being eaten, as humans are too cunning and might attach delayed explosion spells to bait, which will explode inside a dragon’s mouth, and the internal organs of dragons are not as tough as their scales.
However, druids do not possess the heritage of dragons; the dragons they know are merely illusions from dreams.
Therefore, when this young druid lad took a bite of Amberser, Amberser gave him an unforgettable lesson.
Amberser’s arm erupted with a loud bang, similar to an explosion, and the magic-breaking blade, like a bullet shot from a barrel, pierced through the jawbone and penetrated directly into the silver dragon’s brain.
The druid-transfigured dragon was no different from a true dragon, and could even produce offspring with a real dragon; they have the same physiological structure.
And Amberser had once spent some time researching information on the Dragon Race and pinpointed this weakness, making dragon slaying a rather straightforward task.
With its brain pierced, the silver dragon experienced agonizing pain worse than death, and Amberser was thrown out of the dragon’s mouth.
The silver-white mecha hovered in midair, with parts of it appearing collapsed and warped. But as Amberser clenched his fist, the outer layer of Hellfire Armor emitted high temperatures, heating those metallic parts.
As the temperature increased, the twisted regions quickly returned to their original shape.
Amberser had hidden in his private space for over a decade, not just improving the airship, but also modifying his mithril mecha armor.
Many of the pressure-bearing components were changed to memory metal, which could regain seventy to eighty percent of its shape with just intense heating.
Fortunately, he also had a set of Hellfire Armor, which combined flawlessly with the setup.
The silver dragon howled in pain for a moment before exploding into a sky full of pus.
The druid reemerged from within, but in the next second, transformed back into a silver dragon and spewed a jet of flames at Amberser.
"A second transformation?!"
That did take Amberser by surprise.
If a druid voluntarily reverts from their transformation, a second transformation is not unheard of, but being reborn from being blown apart, that’s not something ordinary people could achieve.
After all, a druid’s transformation is like a second life; if they could transform twice, wouldn’t that be like having three lives?
No wonder he’s the youngest legendary druid; his love-struck mind is not just fixated on romance.
The dragon’s flame rushed forward, but Amberser didn’t summon the Golden Throne.
From the very beginning, he didn’t want to expose his identity. When he donned the silver-white mecha, he was no longer the legendary lich Diga Ultraman, but Endless One Taraxin!
A pair of demon-slaying blades sprang from his arms, separating at the position of his palms, then started to spin at high speed, transforming into spinning propellers.
The howling wind collided with the dragon’s flame.
The tempest could not completely suppress the fiery outburst, but after the speed was reduced, the magic essence within the breath was shattered by the two demon-slaying blades. With the magical structure broken, the intense heat instantly disappeared.
Amberser easily sliced through the dragon’s breath, without taking any harm to his body.
After the silver dragon finished breathing out in one go, it saw that Amberser was unscathed and showed a shocked expression.
It had never seen an opponent who could withstand dragon’s breath by sheer force before.
Amberser’s arms clicked as he retracted the glowing red demon-slaying blades, then reached into his private space and pulled out an extremely long magic wand.
Though called a wand, it actually resembled more of a long-hammer, as the wand’s tip was a diamond-shaped spiked hammerhead.
Amberser flickered and instantly appeared on the back of the silver dragon, swinging the magic wand in his hand.
The Traceless Step combined with a surprise attack was Amberser’s most practiced move back when he was an adventurer.
The silver dragon, with its massive size, naturally reacted slowly, and only when Amberser’s wand struck its neck did it realize what was happening.
Believing that its thick dragon scales were sufficient to block such a bladed weapon, it was shocked when the hammer smashed through, breaking its neck bones.
Amberser watched the silver dragon tumble from the sky with some disdain.
This kid, his talents are remarkable, but his combat experience is very trashy, huh? Daring to withstand attacks you’ve never seen—do you think you’re a dragon, that casting a magic shield would kill you?
This young druid was far too confident in his dragon scales and vastly underestimated Amberser’s mecha armor.
This was the latest version refined by Amberser over a dozen modifications, powered by a mana power furnace and dark magic power, supplemented by Hellfire Armor. With this threefold enhancement, Amberser’s strength had become terrifying. Additionally, the mecha could change properties, allowing it to be endowed with various statuses like an undead.
Strength of the Bear or Hill Giant Strength Potion, Amberser had made all preparations before setting off. Now, he was facing the complete mecha, the complete Endless One Taraxin!
With one swing of the hammer, even a giant dragon could be smashed apart.
The silver dragon fell, twisting its neck, and finally exploded into a dense gloop again.
Brandir Sunda casted the Featherfall Spell on himself as he fell, avoiding the ridiculous death of being smashed into a meat patty.
At this moment, Brandir Sunda’s face showed no trace of anger or scorn. After being transformed back twice, he realized that the magipuppet automaton in front of him was no ordinary opponent.
In fact, it was not surprising that Brandir Sunda had underestimated his opponent; after all, he had seen magipuppet automatons before! When the druids protested against Alchemy City causing damage to nature, Brandir Sunda had also gone to Alchemy City to protest and had fought against those magipuppet automatons.
Even if this was an enhanced type of magipuppet, since when could one hammer blow kill a dragon?
Brandir Sunda had initially intended to kill the magipuppet automatons and then hunt down the controller behind them, but ended up losing two lives right off the bat.
Since that was the case, he had no choice but to get serious!
Brandir Sunda waved his hand, and dozens of vines grew out under his control, transforming into a magic wand.
When Brandir Sunda grabbed the wand, it lit up with bursts of light.
"Staff of the Oak Magic?!"
This was a trick every druid knew, barely even counting as a spell.
But that didn’t stop Brandir Sunda from leaping towards Amberser Xiu.
Amberser Xiu was puzzled. They were over a hundred meters apart—what was he doing? Soon, Amberser Xiu realized Brandir Sunda’s intentions. Before jumping, his legs took on the form of some animal, and with a powerful push, he leapt dozens of meters high. Midair, he transformed into an eagle and, flapping his wings, crashed towards Amberser Xiu.
The enchanted wand, grasped in his talons, came crashing down towards Amberser Xiu’s head.
Amberser Xiu struck back without hesitation, swinging his own staff to meet the onslaught.
A thunderous boom sounded, and Amberser Xiu was blasted away by the huge impact.
Barely regaining his balance, Amberser Xiu gazed in shock at the weapon in his hand. The power of the Staff of the Oak Magic was astonishingly strong; his own magic wand had been bent by the shock.
Amberser Xiu exclaimed in surprise, "You little rascal, transforming into a dragon is your weakest form, isn’t it!"
No wonder the last time he fought his father, he was disemboweled as a Silver Dragon, but once he reverted, he pinned his father to the ground and beat him.
Brandir Sunda reverted to human form, hovering in midair, and holding the wand, he said to Amberser Xiu, "A pile of scrap metal, once I dismantle you, I’ll dig out your master too!"
Amberser Xiu sighed. He thought he could easily handle this nuisance, but now it seemed he would have to resort to less than ethical means.
Amberser Xiu tossed the twisted staff back into his personal space, then the jetpack on his back again ejected a high-speed jet of air. Amberser Xiu soared into the sky, and Brandir Sunda quickly transformed into an eagle to chase, but after flying for a while, he realized that Amberser Xiu was getting farther and farther away.
"How can he be so fast?!"
Brandir Sunda had only seen Amberser Xiu from a distance before and knew he was fast, but didn’t have a tangible sense of it until now... Wasn’t this speed ridiculously fast?
This pace was completely uncatchable; was this wretched lump of iron really going to get away?!
But unfortunately for Brandir Sunda, he guessed wrong.
After opening a distance of six to seven hundred meters, Amberser Xiu slowed down and then took out a strangely shaped magic-guide rifle from his personal space. Compared to the previous rifles, this one had a longer barrel and a more massive body, complete with a scope.
The magic-guide rifle upgraded to a magic conduction sniper rifle—longer range, higher precision.
Amberser Xiu aimed the rifle, and hundreds of meters away, he pulled the trigger at Brandir Sunda. The powerful recoil instantly propelled Amberser Xiu up another dozen meters.
Brandir Sunda, unfamiliar with the magic-guide rifle, only knew of those Magic Conduction Cannons as big as carriages. Therefore, he was utterly unaware of Amberser Xiu’s attack until the massive bullet hit him.
Fortunately, his magic equipment saved his life.
The oak ring on his hand shone, and the automatically appearing magic shield blocked the bullet.
The white bullet shattered on the magic shield, turning into a vast spread of chilling white bones that trapped Brandir Sunda in a cage-like prison.
Brandir Sunda swung the glowing wand in anger, smashing all the white bones to pieces.
"A magic shield, is it?"
Amberser Xiu chuckled, swiftly ejected the magazine with a flick of his finger, replaced it with another, and took another shot.
This time, the bullet went straight through the magic shield upon impact and hit Brandir Sunda’s shoulder. A magic-breaking weapon could be fashioned into bullets as well as swords, and the effect was just the same.
Brandir Sunda’s shoulder exploded into a bloom of blood; flesh and bone splattered as if someone had scooped out a chunk of his shoulder, rendering his right arm utterly useless.
Brandir Sunda’s eyes widened, and even then, he couldn’t believe what had happened.
What was that thing that made his magic shield completely ineffective?
Brandir Sunda’s body fell from the sky as brilliant green light lit up on his chest. His shattered shoulder was rapidly healing.
Bone and flesh were mending together, and even a fatal injury could be fully healed within a few seconds.
This was "Emerald’s Blessing," a divine artifact passed down in his family that allowed rapid recovery from any wounds, using the stored magic power in the necklace. Even such severe damage like just now took only two to three seconds to heal completely.
Brandir Sunda wasn’t foolish; he immediately controlled a mass of vines to form a barrier in front of him.
However, Brandir Sunda had underestimated the might of the magic-guide rifle.
Another bullet came, and the thick vine shield was instantly shattered as the magic structure used to congeal the vines was destroyed, causing the vines to disperse rapidly and decay into debris.
Before Brandir Sunda could repair his shield, the demon-breaking bullet hit him again, in the same spot.
The same force blew apart his shoulder once more.
The emerald light appeared again, and the divine artifact necklace dutifully healed its master’s wounds.
But Brandir Sunda knew he had lost. The necklace’s healing capabilities were limited, and the opponent’s magic weapon clearly had many more bullets to fire.
Two hits in the same spot made Brandir Sunda realize that the enemy wasn’t lacking precision. They had intentionally spared his life. If they had aimed for his head, he would have been dead long ago.
What exactly was this magipuppet automaton? His people had fallen into slumber, and he was no match for it. Was this the day of doom for the druids?
