Chapter 488: Chapter 258 Azure Dragon, Don’t Misunderstand, We Didn’t Harm You
Azure Dragon must have made Sandro strike at me as an opportunity to cause trouble, maybe intentionally wanting to break ties with us, even forcing the Torch Organization to expel me and Theo.
Ulrich thought of many things and had already adjusted his approach—
If Azure Dragon still demands an apology, I can only comply, not giving him a reason to make a fuss. Even if the demands are more excessive, I cannot afford to fall out with him.
Facing everyone’s gaze, Li Ming shook his head, "Sandro, let it go. A few words exchanged in a quarrel are not worth this commotion."
Sandro was taken aback, somewhat astonished. Is it just going to end like this?
He had thought that Azure Dragon hinted that he should be more aggressive, expecting more follow-up actions.
The thoughts of these sly foxes are truly hard to fathom.
Sandro mumbled to himself and looked at Ulrich, snorting coldly: "Since Azure Dragon has pleaded for you, let’s just forget about this matter."
Ulrich didn’t care about Sandro’s verbal self-victory and exchanged a silent look with Theo.
His heart was puzzled. Why isn’t it the same as he thought? Does Azure Dragon not intend to take advantage of the situation?
Why then did he have Sandro take such a tough stance?
Connet’s gaze flickered slightly, but he decided not to delve into the matter.
He was now anxious to leave, not wanting to deal with the underhandedness between these people, as long as no harm came to the Torch Organization.
With this in mind, he spoke in a deeper tone: "I hope everyone can control their tempers, and not resort to fighting over trivial quarrels."
"Everyone here is an A-level life form. The destructive range of a battle is vast, and if any other innocent members of the organization are hurt, I will not let it go!"
He raised his voice significantly towards the end. Since it was peacemaking just moments ago, he could not adopt this attitude, but now that the situation had stabilized, it was time for a warning.
Though after his departure, Theo would be watching over them, none of these A-level life forms were ever truly calm.
Ulrich shook his head indifferently: "I never initiate an attack."
Sandro snorted coldly but remained silent, as Connet’s warning carried significant weight.
Looking up at the large holes in the ceiling and the several holes in the wall, Connet’s tone softened: "I will have someone come repair these soon. If there’s nothing else, you can all go back now."
The people present had their own thoughts, but they all nodded and made their way back.
The composed Connet then quickly returned to the prepared transport ship.
"What happened?" Kewis asked curiously.
"Just a small matter," Connet shook his head, then asked: "Nothing unexpected happened here, right?"
"I’ve been watching the whole time. What could possibly happen?" Kewis frowned, seemingly a bit displeased, "Those A-level life forms are too unruly. Forcing them into one area, trouble is bound to occur sooner or later."
"Better to kill them all."
"It’s not that simple..." Connet shook his head. The implications were too great. Those Great Mechanics were not ordinary experimental personnel who would work for them after being threatened and lured with some benefits.
If they were up to something in secret, laypeople wouldn’t even realize it.
"Lord Fernand, I appreciate your trouble," Connet said, looking at the silent Fernand.
After their departure, it would be just him left to guard the main base of the Torch Organization.
"Rest assured." Fernand’s features, like wind-eroded stone, nodded solemnly: "With the power of Balzak present, they won’t be able to stir up any waves."
Connet thought for a moment. Logically, there should be no oversight.
But he felt a sense of unease, which he attributed to the unknown brought about by reaching a critical juncture in the plan.
Having calmed his emotions somewhat, the group quickly boarded the transport ship.
Accompanied by the engine spitting out fiery light, the ship stretched thin and disappeared abruptly after leaving the Ecological Shield with the warp engine’s activation.
"Let’s go back, everyone to their duties," Fernand took back his gaze.
...
Ulrich didn’t speak to Theo along the way but followed him back to his room tacitly. After erecting their divergent stance, Ulrich frowned slightly:
"We guessed right. Azure Dragon must have noticed something and recruited Sandro."
"Sandro knows nothing." Theo shook his head. "Besides, we’re not plotting against him; he’s overthinking."
Ulrich voiced his worries: "I’m afraid that Azure Dragon thinks we are plotting against him. The Sublimator is nearly complete; everyone’s hidden motives are about to surface."
Theo glanced at Ulrich, thinking to himself how paranoid he was.
"At present, we’re still on the same side as him; he should understand," Theo pondered: "His recruitment of Sandro must be to verify what we are doing, to prepare for any eventuality."
He looked at Ulrich and said: "Sandro must have said something; I see it got to you."
At the mention of this, Ulrich’s face darkened, with no desire to discuss further: "He’s nothing but a fool. I can’t be bothered with him."
Then, he asked: "Are you sure your people won’t act against Azure Dragon?"
"For now, there are no such orders. The person behind me only asked me to keep an eye on him." Theo said with a calm expression. Ulrich noticeably exhaled, seemingly relieved.
Theo’s dark eyes narrowed, his voice still serene: "Are you that afraid of acting against him?"
It was not so much fear as wariness for Ulrich. "He’s too mysterious; no one knows what’s behind him."
"More formidable than the Star Abyss Empire?" Theo shook his head.
