Chapter 487: Chapter 257 Steady Progress, Acquiring Alloy_2

"Leader, no, there’s no problem," Pier whispered quietly.

Kewis shook his head, the black mask on his face concealing all his expressions: "Is that necessary?"

"Alright, package it up." Connet waved his hand, finally feeling relieved.

This matter was related to the Torch Organization’s follow-up plans, so he had to be careful and vigilant.

Watching the container being carried onto one of the transport ships, Connet then turned his head to ask, "How’s the investigation going?"

Pier’s nerves tensed up, and with a forced courage, he said, "It’s the same as before, no gains whatsoever."

Connet frowned, glanced at Pier who had his head bowed, and couldn’t help but admonish, "Think outside the box, don’t be too fixed, consider other methods."

He was completely clueless about virtual data, so he could only give such admonishment.

Des was a prime suspect in his mind, but without evidence, this also made him very doubtful, unsure whether his own thoughts were right or wrong.

"Yes." Pier responded, feeling bitter inside.

"You can focus on investigating Des." Connet said, glancing at his subordinates who were almost ready, and added,

"Des? Not Azure Dragon?" Pier raised his head, startled.

"Who said it was Azure Dragon? Did you find anything?" Connet pressed.

"No, it’s just my personal guess." Pier hurriedly shook his head.

Connet was disappointed, "Don’t guess blindly. Even if I ask you to keep an eye on Des, don’t bring up some far-fetched evidence to appease me."

It wasn’t that he was insisting on evidence, but the Torch Organization and those big Mechanics were two different factions; if he captured Des without discernment, Benny would certainly be dissatisfied.

Even Jesaya and perhaps even Azure Dragon might speak out in protest.

"Yes." Pier felt even more guilty, as the Leader had great expectations for him, yet he could only deceive the Leader.

Connet sighed, feeling mentally exhausted, as many matters within the Organization required his decision.

"Prepare to depart," he said in a deep voice, as the Torch Soldiers, meticulous in their formation, began boarding the transport ships one by one.

Yet it was during this process, on one side of the main base in the rear, that a powerful surge of energy suddenly erupted.

Columns of magma shot towards the purple Energy Shield, creating ripples upon impact. Clearly visible even from this distance, it shielded against the scattering energy aftermath.

Connet’s expression changed abruptly, while Kewis sneered, "These people really can’t stay quiet."

"Leader, you go ahead, I’ll check it out," Fernand said with a frown.

"No need, I’ll go," Connet shook his head, leaping up, becoming a streak of Flowing Light as he swiftly approached the rest area.

Kewis let out a faint smile, indifferent, standing still, lost in contemplation.

Pier’s scalp tingled, not knowing why, but being beside Mr. Kewis, he always felt nervous, yet he didn’t dare to leave rashly.

Meanwhile, in the cockpit of the transport ship housing the Boiling Blood Alloy container,

In the shadow of a certain pilot, Li Ming sensed the energy fluctuations and pondered to himself, "Sandro really didn’t let me down."

A faint "snap" sound could be heard.

Following that, the pilots, who had been stern in demeanor, all stiffened, then robotically pressed several controls.

One of the pilots even got up, passing through several barriers to the cargo hold at the rear. The place was silent, and the monitoring cameras in the corners hung limp.

He emotionlessly keyed in a command, opened the container box, and then stepped inside.

In the faint shadow illuminated by the crimson blood light, a figure suddenly shot out—it was Li Ming. His movements were extremely fast and purposeful.

The Folded Space had long been cleared out, and he quickly swept the large chunks of Boiling Blood Alloy into the Folded Space.

While one hand continued to absorb the alloy, the other swept out large quantities of look-alike model blocks that appeared almost indistinguishable from the Boiling Blood Alloy, working efficiently.

These were the simplest crude models, but after Li Ming’s multiple fine-tunings, at least on the surface, they looked no different from the actual Boiling Blood Alloys.

They were small in size, and each cost only tens of metal energy units.

Even so, it took him more than ten minutes to completely handle the situation, mainly due to the absorption of the residual alloy blocks that could not be fitted into the Folded Space.

Kewis watched the resting area, where the battle disturbance had stopped, but Connet had yet to return.

Workers scurry nonstop between several transport ships, with over ten minutes already passed since the scheduled departure time.

"Lord Kewis, if there’s nothing else, I’ll be, I’ll go back first..." Si’er finally couldn’t bear it any longer, mustering courage from who knows where, and said with a stiff scalp.

"Get lost." Kewis waved his hand dismissively.

Pier left in a hurry as if pardoned, yet for some reason, felt particularly curious about the magma column and couldn’t help but sneak a few glances at the edge of the resting area.

...

Li Ming’s door opened, he glanced at the corridor that was charred black by scorching.

The main conflict wasn’t here, but rather on the other side; this place was mainly scorched by the surging flames.

He quickly reached the hall, it seemed the conflict hadn’t escalated; there was only a large hole in the floor, and the ceiling was pierced through, its edges a fiery red.

The most powerful force was that towering magma column.

The only one fitting the Genetic Ability characteristic was Sandro, who stood with his arms crossed and head held high.

Jesaya had also arrived, along with Theo.

The conflict wasn’t big, Benny, Des, and the other two A-level Life Forms hadn’t shown their faces.

And the person who erupted in conflict with him was Ulrich; the Collector’s face looked ghastly, staring coldly at Sandro.

Sandro snorted coldly, "...I’ve already said, there’s no other reason, he kept calling me a fool. We’re all A-level Life Forms here; he’s showing me too much disrespect."

Standing not far away, Theo’s expression was calm,

Hearing this, Ulrich hadn’t spoken when Jesaya, with an emotionless face, intervened, "You are indeed a fool, as everyone knows."

"You too want to..." Sandro glared furiously, about to speak but seemed to remember something, somewhat sulkily, "I’m not stooping to your level."

Despite being rebuked by Jesaya, right now Sandro still felt quite contented; he’d always been the junior in their trio.

Ulrich was somewhat stronger than him, but because he was smarter, he was closer to Theo.

Many past verbal disputes, he had just swallowed down, but now the situation was completely different; the two had isolated him.

Following Azure Dragon’s advice, he occasionally spent time in Azure Dragon’s room recently, although the two didn’t talk much.

What he didn’t expect was that in just a few days, Ulrich really sought him out, and his attitude was much softer than before.

But following Azure Dragon’s order, he didn’t pay attention to Ulrich right away and instead shut him out. This indeed felt very satisfying.

Ulrich had left resolutely at the time, but later sought him out several more times, which he still ignored.

Until earlier today, when Azure Dragon told him that he could arrange a meeting with Ulrich.

Moreover, he was told to be firm during the meeting; having tasted the benefits, he naturally followed Azure Dragon’s instructions.

He and Ulrich had known each other for many years and naturally knew how to hit where it hurt. They hadn’t spoken much at their meeting before getting into a quarrel.

Remembering Azure Dragon’s words, to be a bit tougher, he had directly initiated a fight.

"You really found yourself a big backer."

Ulrich said with a cold voice, not expecting Sandro to be so defiant, daring to actually start a fight, truly startling him.

And of course, he guessed it must be Azure Dragon who emboldened him.

He surely couldn’t actually fight with Sandro, just retreating, and then Connet descended.

But Sandro still was relentless, even demanding an apology, which Ulrich naturally refused, leading to a standoff.

Connet’s face was solemn, scanning the arrived Azure Dragon; although the situation was urgent, he did not show any haste.

He shook his head and spoke in a deep voice, "You two are old friends; is it worth escalating a verbal friction into a physical confrontation."

Then he turned to look at Azure Dragon, "Your Excellency, I was just about to send someone to look for you about this situation..."

Sandro glanced over, others showed varying expressions; they all could guess that Sandro being so defiant meant someone was backing him.

Their gaze inevitably converged on the Mechanic, waiting for him to speak.
