Chapter 1520 Guidance
Chapter 1520: Chapter 1520 Guidance
"I thought you would think it was your sister or his son who did this," Wu Yanning lowered her voice as she spoke to Ling Zhengping. "Haven’t you suspected them?"
"I’ve suspected them," Ling Zhengping nodded. "But Ling Ruonan had a car accident and sustained serious injuries, clearly someone wanted both her and her son dead. After the last incident, it’s impossible for us to want their lives, so they wouldn’t make a move against us at this time. After all, Yanjing and Yangcheng are thousands of kilometers apart, Ling Ruonan’s accident happened in the evening, while Haining’s accident occurred this morning on his way to work. It must be others trying to complicate matters, perhaps even inciting internal strife within the Ling Family."
Upon hearing this, Wu Yanning breathed a slight sigh of relief. "Then which family do you think is behind this?"
"The Yang Family, the Chen Family, or the Fang Family—any of them are possible," Ling Zhengping replied in a low voice. "Most likely, it’s the Yang Family. Last time, Yang Yunzhong was severely injured; they must suspect Luo Ziling was responsible, so it wouldn’t be surprising if they vent their anger on the Ling Family."
"What are your plans?"
Ling Zhengping pondered for a moment and said, "Once Haining’s condition stabilizes, I’ll make a trip back to Yanjing, discuss this with my grandfather and father, and consult Ling Ruonan on the matter."
"You want to cooperate with Ling Ruonan?"
"We’re siblings; cooperation is only natural," Ling Zhengping said, looking visibly frustrated.
Wu Yanning saw the reluctance in Ling Zhengping’s expression but remained silent.
Ling Zhengping said no more and left the hospital room, heading to the restroom for a smoke.
When Ling Zhengping returned to the room after smoking, Wu Yanning said, "Why don’t I reach out to Ling Ruonan first about collaboration? She’s recovering at home after the accident, and as her sister-in-law, I should go visit her."
Ling Zhengping thought for a moment before ultimately agreeing to Wu Yanning’s suggestion.
Wu Yanning took several days off from work to personally care for Ling Haining. After discussion, the two decided that once Ling Haining’s condition stabilized, Wu Yanning would return to Yanjing. There, she would visit Ling Ruonan to discuss potential collaboration.
Meanwhile, Ling Ruonan and Luo Ziling were entirely unaware of the situation in Yangcheng. They couldn’t have imagined that Ling Haining’s accident would lead to such a change in Ling Zhengping’s attitude.
The next morning, Luo Ziling checked Ling Ruonan’s physical condition and treated her wounds before heading to Dragon Rise’s rehabilitation center to assist Li Haiyang with his recovery.
Li Haiyang knew Luo Ziling was coming and had waited for him early in the courtyard.
The weather was excellent—bright sunshine, tranquil surroundings, not a hint of wind. Li Haiyang was exercising under the warm sun.
After Luo Ziling’s treatments, he had gradually regained mobility. With Luo Ziling’s guidance, Li Haiyang exercised daily, and the results were significant; his physical functions were steadily improving.
Li Haiyang could now walk unaided for short distances.
His recovery wasn’t slow.
For the members of Dragon Rise, seeing their long-paralyzed founder on his feet again was undeniably inspiring.
Thus, Luo Ziling received even greater respect than before. Each time he entered or left the Dragon Rise base and rehabilitation center, the guards on duty saluted him voluntarily.
This filled Luo Ziling with pride.
"Senior, it’s been a while since I last treated you," Luo Ziling said with a smile as he approached Li Haiyang, who was walking. "I estimate that by the end of this year, we might even be able to spar."
"Haha, if I can truly recover to that extent, then I’ll have no regrets," Li Haiyang signaled for Luo Ziling to accompany him as he walked.
Luo Ziling did not refuse, walking alongside Li Haiyang, conversing as they moved.
"Now that I can walk again, no one is proposing to replace me," Li Haiyang spoke straightforwardly as usual, "They no longer see me as useless, and the morale within Dragon Rise is stabilizing. As for Phoenix, give her a few more years of training, and she should be capable of handling many responsibilities. If your father comes over, he and Phoenix would make a strong team. Even if I’m not around, there’d be no problem."
"Senior, some things shouldn’t be shared with me."
"It’s fine; since I’m discussing them with you, it’s not a problem," Li Haiyang smiled lightly and then asked, "I heard your mother was in a car accident?"
"It seems to have been deliberate," Luo Ziling replied with a bitter smile. "Fortunately, she wasn’t too badly injured."
"With you around, your mother’s injuries shouldn’t be a concern," Li Haiyang said, pausing momentarily before asking Luo Ziling, "How do you plan to handle the situation?"
After a brief silence, Luo Ziling said, "I refuse to be seen as weak or cowardly."
"Haha," Li Haiyang chuckled, refraining from further inquiry and offering a piece of advice instead, "Don’t push things too far; always leave yourself some room. Many times, deterrence is more effective than complete annihilation."
"Thank you for your guidance, Senior. I understand now!"
"By the way, how do you plan to deal with your relationship with Lin Lan?"
Luo Ziling was stunned to hear Li Haiyang bring this up.
"She mentioned that there’s no way she’d marry you, but we also don’t want your relationship with her to remain something covert. This would be detrimental to you, to her, and to the reputation of Dragon Rise," Li Haiyang said, narrowing his eyes slightly. "Make sure you don’t leave room for gossip."
"I understand," Luo Ziling exhaled in relief.
Li Haiyang continued asking, "I heard you had a falling out with the Yang Family recently and also got into an argument with Yang Qingyin. How do you plan to address those matters?"
"I’d like to hear your advice, Senior."
"Many people may think marrying Ouyang Feifei is a better option because it would avoid conflict, resulting in harmony for all. However, I don’t see it that way," Li Haiyang said bluntly. "If you successfully marry Yang Qingyin, the grievances between your Luo Family and the Yang Family would be resolved, and the long-standing conflict between the Yang Family and the Ling Family would also disappear. In doing so, you would gain support from both families. Don’t you think achieving that outcome would be more advantageous for you?"
Luo Ziling looked helpless. "But Yang Old Sir and Qingyin’s father already see me as an enemy."
Li Haiyang smiled at Luo Ziling. "The rivalry between Yang Yunzhong and Yang Yunlin has been ongoing for years. The last time, Yang Yunzhong tried to ruin Yang Qingyin; because of that, Yang Yunlin harbors even deeper resentment against Yang Yunzhong than he does against you. Also, I’ve heard Yang Old Sir is grappling with health issues that haven’t been diagnosed by any hospital. If you cure him and help Yang Yunlin consolidate his position as the heir to the Yang Family—while firmly suppressing Yang Yunzhong—or if there are a few more unexpected incidents along the way, do you think they would continue treating you the same way? Sincerity can crack even the hardest barriers. If you put in the effort, you’ll see results, as evidenced by how your Great Grandfather and maternal grandfather have changed their attitudes toward you."
Luo Ziling suddenly felt enlightened. "Thank you for your wisdom, Senior. I now know what to do."
