Chapter 1519: Chapter 1519: Accidentally Getting It Right

Lin Lan had no intention of getting affectionate with Luo Ziling, nor did Luo Ziling have such thoughts. After standing quietly for a while, the two separated.

After changing into her own clothes, Lin Lan gave Luo Ziling a kiss and then left his room to talk to Ling Ruonan.

Luo Ziling went downstairs to wait for her.

To his surprise, when he went downstairs, he saw Ouyang Feifei and Luo Yuqing sitting there.

"When did you get here?" Luo Ziling asked in surprise.

"Just arrived," Luo Yuqing stood up, "We knew you were busy, so we didn’t bother you. Where’s that pretty military officer?"

As Luo Yuqing asked this, Ouyang Feifei also turned her gaze over.

Luo Ziling replied irritably, "Don’t ask about her business. I can’t even manage her."

Luo Yuqing glared at Luo Ziling a couple of times but ultimately didn’t throw a fit.

Ouyang Feifei didn’t say anything, just sat quietly.

"How’s your mom’s condition now? Is everything okay?" Luo Yuqing changed the subject.

"With me here, how could it not be? I can save someone on their deathbed, let alone her minor injuries."

"Is that how you talk about your mom?" Luo Yuqing reached out and pinched Luo Ziling.

"Let’s discuss Qingniao Media first," Ouyang Feifei didn’t ask further about other topics but instead brought up Qingniao Media.

Luo Ziling sat down next to Ouyang Feifei, "Alright, let me hear what you two strong women have to say about the situation."

"Li Jing has officially taken over the position of CEO at Qingniao Media. She’s fully capable of handling this role. But since she’s still juggling other roles, I was wondering if we should disconnect her from her duties at Northern Group and have her focus entirely on Qingniao Media. As for Northern Pharmaceuticals, we could assign someone else to oversee it. Your mom should still have people she can send over."

After hearing this suggestion, Luo Ziling thought about it for a moment but didn’t immediately give his opinion. Instead, he tactfully said, "This should still be decided by my mom."

"Alright," Ouyang Feifei nodded and then added, "In the afternoon, Yuqing mentioned the matter of adapting the works of that internet writer from your university, Dai Shulan. I want to know what your stance on this is. Are you agreeing to her work purely out of personal connections, or do you genuinely think her writing is suitable for adaptation?"

"Both," Luo Ziling admitted openly, "Her works have a wide audience and perform very well. I’ve read over a hundred thousand words and think they’re truly impressive. Plus, she’s our fellow alum, and I’d consider her a friend. If we can adapt her work, it’s definitely a great thing. Furthermore, we could buy out the film and television rights for all her future works, which would benefit both parties."

Ouyang Feifei stared at Luo Ziling for a while before softly asking, "Is it just because she’s pretty that you’re helping her?"

"This is collaboration," Luo Ziling said a little angrily, "Do you know how much her earnings were this month? Over a hundred thousand. How many female writers with such success can you find?"

"Really?" Luo Yuqing exclaimed in shock, "She even told you about her income?"

"Of course, if she wants to work with us, she needs to show her achievements."

"But why didn’t she tell me?"

"Afraid you’d be jealous."

Luo Yuqing immediately looked irritated, "What would I have to be jealous of?"

"I’m jealous of her income," Luo Ziling ignored her irritation, "I also think that bringing her under Qingniao Media’s umbrella would give us more advantages in managing her copyrights. We could even have her write custom-made stories for us."

"If you think it’s worth working with her, we don’t have any objections," Ouyang Feifei ceased to argue with Luo Ziling on this matter. "Let Yuqing handle the copyright transfer negotiations with her, then."

"Alright!"

At this moment, Ling Ruonan called Luo Ziling from upstairs, saying she had something to discuss with him.

Luo Ziling quickly went upstairs.

Lin Lan was still in Ling Ruonan’s room.

When she saw Luo Ziling coming up, Lin Lan smiled and said, "I’ll leave now."

She reminded Luo Ziling, "You haven’t gone to treat the chief in quite some days. Find a day soon to visit him."

Luo Ziling promised, "Okay, I’ll go tomorrow."

"Then I’ll take my leave," Lin Lan said. She smiled again at Ling Ruonan and added, "Thank you for your kindness, Mrs. Ling. I’ll visit again when I have time."

Ling Ruonan nodded.

Instead of taking the stairs, Lin Lan quietly left through the window.

After Lin Lan had left, Luo Ziling and Ling Ruonan went downstairs together.

When Ling Ruonan came downstairs, both Luo Yuqing and Ouyang Feifei stood up.

Ouyang Feifei briefed Ling Ruonan on the matters she had discussed with Luo Ziling earlier. These included Li Jing’s roles and the collaboration with Dai Shulan.

"Let’s have Li Jing focus solely on media management and leave the pharmaceutical side to someone else," Ling Ruonan agreed with Ouyang Feifei’s suggestion. She then talked about the collaboration with Dai Shulan. "Since Ziling thinks the copyrights are worth adapting, let’s collaborate. Yuqing can take care of this matter."

Having heard Ling Ruonan’s decision, neither Luo Ziling nor Ouyang Feifei had anything else to add.

Ouyang Feifei and Luo Yuqing didn’t stay much longer. After chatting for a bit, they both left.

Luo Ziling didn’t ask Ling Ruonan what she had discussed with Lin Lan earlier; he felt it was best not to inquire about such matters.

Lin Lan likely wouldn’t disclose the conversation to him either.

Similarly, Ling Ruonan didn’t bring up anything else to Luo Ziling; she planned to rest early.

As Ling Ruonan and Luo Ziling went to rest separately, thousands of miles away in Yangcheng, many people were struggling to fall asleep.

Ling Haining’s injuries were severe. After being taken to the hospital, he was immediately sent into surgery.

The doctors diagnosed him with a fractured arm, fractured ribs and leg bones, and significant trauma to the brain. The surgery lasted five hours, and once he was out of the operating room, he was transferred to the ICU for observation. After a few hours, the anesthesia wore off and his vital signs stabilized, allowing him to be moved to a regular ward.

Upon hearing that his son had been in a car accident and was seriously injured, Ling Zhengping rushed to the hospital right away. Wu Yanning, upon receiving the news, also hurried over.

When Wu Yanning arrived, Ling Haining had just been moved out of the ICU. Seeing the severity of Ling Haining’s injuries, Wu Yanning couldn’t help but break into sobs.

"What happened?" Wu Yanning asked Ling Zhengping through her tears. "Wasn’t someone with him? How could he have been in a car accident?"

"He wanted to keep a low profile, so he drove himself to work," Ling Zhengping said, clearly upset. "No one could have foreseen this happening."

"Are you saying this was an accident and not deliberate?" Wu Yanning stopped crying.

"The collision with the scammers might have been orchestrated, but the bus accident was definitely unintentional," Ling Zhengping frowned. "The driver has already been detained. He admitted that he was distracted after arguing with a passenger and failed to hit the brakes on time."

"If the scammers were sent by someone, who would it be?" Wu Yanning asked.

"It shouldn’t be anyone from our family!"

"Oh?" Wu Yanning’s surprise was evident.
