Chapter 1510: Chapter 1510: Suggestion
After Luo Ziling turned on the lights, he quickly walked to Ling Ruonan’s side. He lightly tapped one of her acupoints, and Ling Ruonan woke up from her sleep.
"Mom, Aunt Li Jiawei and Feiyang heard that you were injured, so they came to see you," Luo Ziling sat by the bed and gently reminded her. Then, he apologized to Li Jiawei and Wang Feiyang, who had followed him into the room, "My mom was startled, and she’s still feeling a bit dazed."
However, Ling Ruonan’s reaction surprised Luo Ziling slightly. After hearing his words and seeing Li Jiawei and Wang Feiyang enter, she immediately sat up in bed.
"Jiawei, Feiyang, thank you for coming to see me," Ling Ruonan tidied her disheveled hair and leaned against the bed, speaking with some embarrassment, "Ziling has already taken care of it. His medical skills are excellent, and it’s nothing serious now."
"How did this happen?" Li Jiawei sat down by the bed. "I was shocked when I first heard the news."
"Lucky to be alive," Ling Ruonan responded with a bitter smile, "You don’t need to worry. It won’t be a problem."
"That’s good," Li Jiawei smiled as well. "But you still need to rest and recover for a few days."
"Mrs. Ling, could this have been an attempted murder?" Wang Feiyang interjected, "I feel like this situation isn’t as simple as it seems."
"The police are already investigating, and I believe the results will come soon," Ling Ruonan’s smile faded. "It shouldn’t be that serious. I think it was just an accident. I heard the driver was drunk driving, going very fast, and he died on the spot."
"Do you believe this was just an accident?" Wang Feiyang asked Luo Ziling.
Once again, Luo Ziling couldn’t understand Wang Feiyang’s intent. After thinking for a moment, he replied, "I hope it was just an accident, but I also suspect it could have been an attempt at murder. No matter what, I’ll find a way to get to the bottom of it!"
"Feiyang’s father is already paying close attention to this matter," Li Jiawei raised her head and spoke, then gently patted Ling Ruonan’s hand with a smile, "Mrs. Ling, we’re relieved that you’re okay. I hope the police can quickly get to the truth, to avoid any rumors."
"I hope so too," Ling Ruonan nodded lightly.
"We’ll be heading out now and won’t disturb your rest," Li Jiawei said as she stood up and called to Wang Feiyang, "Feiyang, let’s go."
"Mom, why don’t you leave first? I haven’t seen Ziling for a while and want to chat with him," Wang Feiyang suggested.
Li Jiawei hesitated for a moment, but ultimately agreed to Wang Feiyang’s request.
Luo Ziling, along with Luo Yuqing and Ouyang Feifei, accompanied Li Jiawei downstairs, while Wang Feiyang stayed behind in Ling Ruonan’s room, saying he wanted to talk with her for a while.
Li Jiawei walked toward the parking area with Luo Ziling and the others accompanying her.
As they walked, she softly reminded Luo Ziling, "I hope you’ll handle this matter calmly."
"Thank you for the advice, Aunt Li," Luo Ziling had already figured out the purpose behind Li Jiawei’s visit today, so he wasn’t surprised by her reminder.
Li Jiawei only stayed in Ling Ruonan’s villa for about ten minutes before leaving, which confused Luo Yuqing.
On their way back to the house, she quietly asked, "Why did she come? And why did she leave so quickly?"
"The purpose is simple," Ouyang Feifei glanced at Luo Ziling, then said softly, "She came to see Mrs. Ling partly to show that those people are taking this incident seriously, as a warning to whoever might want to harm Mrs. Ling. If I’m guessing correctly, Ziling’s grandparents will also come later. Knowing they would come, she rushed here briefly and then left. She also used the opportunity to remind Ziling not to blow up the matter or act irrationally out of self-interest."
"Oh, I get it now," Luo Yuqing looked suddenly enlightened. "A lot of people are worried this might lead to more severe consequences."
"Haha," Luo Ziling chuckled faintly but said nothing.
Seeing Luo Ziling’s reaction, Luo Yuqing was tempted to ask something, but in the end, she decided against it.
Back upstairs, Luo Ziling saw Wang Feiyang still chatting with Ling Ruonan.
When he saw them come in, Wang Feiyang stood up and smiled at Ling Ruonan, saying, "Mrs. Ling, please rest well. I’ll go have a word with Ziling."
"Mom, you rest for a while. I’ll check on you later and do some acupressure," Luo Ziling said to Ling Ruonan with a smile, then went downstairs with Wang Feiyang.
Luo Yuqing and Ouyang Feifei didn’t follow them downstairs. They stayed to keep Ling Ruonan company.
"You really don’t have much class," Wang Feiyang complained directly as they reached downstairs. "During the holidays, I was in the Capital the whole time, and you never contacted me. Didn’t you promise me last time that you’d take me out for food and fun during the winter break? What, you forgot already?"
Luo Ziling had indeed forgotten about it. He hadn’t even thought about Wang Feiyang, which made him a bit awkward. He explained tactfully, "Things were busy during the winter break. I spent the New Year in Yuezhou, then my mom dragged me somewhere, and afterward, I made a trip to Chang’an."
"I’m heading back tomorrow," Wang Feiyang said with a frustrated expression, "I think if I hadn’t shown up today, you’d probably forget I even existed, wouldn’t you?"
"No way, how could I forget such a beautiful girl like you?" Luo Ziling replied jokingly to ease the tension.
"Then take me out for a midnight snack later. Your mom is fine now anyway," Wang Feiyang said, lowering her voice. "I have something important to tell you."
"What is it? Just tell me now," Luo Ziling replied, looking at Wang Feiyang with a trace of helplessness. "My grandparents might be coming soon, so I can’t leave."
"I see," Wang Feiyang said, disappointed, but didn’t push further. "Then I’ll just say a few things. I know you don’t believe this was a coincidence, and you likely already have an idea of who’s behind the attack. You’re probably planning to get back at them, aren’t you?"
"I’d like to hear what you have to say next."
"If you go through with it, you’ll be playing right into many people’s hands, and it might bring even bigger trouble for both you and your mom. You must have also realized what my mom’s visit to your mom represents," Wang Feiyang said, her gaze sharp as she looked at Luo Ziling. "You’re smart enough to understand what I mean."
"Thank you for the reminder. I’ll consider it carefully."
"And if you’re torn between Yang Qingyin and Ouyang Feifei and can’t decide who to marry, I have a suggestion," Wang Feiyang said with a playful smile at Luo Ziling. "Keep them both uncertain for now. Don’t make a decision too quickly. Let them each feel they could be your chosen one. That way, they’ll compete against each other, and you’ll benefit a lot."
"What do you mean?"
"Figure it out yourself!"
