Chapter 1509: Chapter 1509: Two Unexpected Women
After Luo Ziling came out, Wuyue immediately approached him.
"Young Master, the officer in charge of this case just called. They said the deceased’s identity has been confirmed. He’s a man from the Northeast who drives for a ride-hailing service in Yanjing, 25 years old and unmarried," Wuyue lowered her voice and told Luo Ziling, "He has no criminal record at all. Upon further investigation, we found that his bank account had a deposit of 500,000 yuan before the incident. The funds were transferred from an anonymous account."
"An anonymous account?" Luo Ziling appeared quite surprised but quickly grasped the situation. "It seems everything is just as we expected—someone instructed this ride-hailing driver to ram my mother’s car, intending to murder her."
"That’s a possibility," Wuyue nodded, hesitated for a moment, and then voiced her doubts. "But there’s something I don’t quite understand. Using a car to crash into another to kill the person inside is very challenging. Everyone knows Miss’s car has been specially modified to withstand regular bullets. Unless the attacking car had a bomb in it, they couldn’t be certain of killing Miss. It doesn’t add up. If they truly wanted to take Miss’s life, this wasn’t a good method."
"Was there a bomb in the car?"
"No!" Wuyue shook her head. "That’s why I have doubts."
"Then what’s your assessment?"
"I can’t draw a conclusion yet," Wuyue replied softly with her head lowered. "The scene has already been taken over by the police, and we can’t make direct demands. But I feel that no useful clues will be found there. There are too many suspicious points in this incident. It’s possible someone deliberately framed us."
"I don’t care whether someone is framing us or not; I just don’t like playing these kinds of games," Luo Ziling said, then gave a chilling command to Wuyue. "Figure out a way to ensure Chen Jiahai can never mess with us again. I’m convinced this incident was his doing. No matter what, I want him dead."
Wuyue couldn’t help but be shocked by Luo Ziling’s words. She hadn’t expected him to have such a ruthless side.
Luo Ziling had been schemed against several times and had narrowly escaped danger, yet he had never sought to put his enemies to death.
From this, Wuyue realized that Luo Ziling didn’t care much about his own troubles, but he would not tolerate the same happening to his family. If his loved ones were placed in life-threatening situations, he wouldn’t hold back.
This moved Wuyue, and so she chose not to express her surprise or concerns. Instead, after thinking seriously for a moment, she softly replied, "Young Master, I’ll personally handle this. I’ll make sure it’s flawless."
"Good," Luo Ziling nodded. "I trust your abilities."
As Luo Ziling and Wuyue were talking, two vehicles pulled up outside the villa.
Cars that could drive directly to Ling Ruonan’s villa without obstruction were certainly not ordinary.
As Luo Ziling looked over curiously, a bodyguard briskly ran over and quietly reported, "They’re vehicles from the Security Bureau."
Hearing that they were from the mysterious Security Bureau, Luo Ziling immediately furrowed his brows.
Before he could go out to greet them, the car doors opened, and two women stepped out.
"It’s Li Jiawei and her daughter," Wuyue, with sharp eyes, immediately recognized the two women and tugged on Luo Ziling. "Go out to greet them."
Luo Ziling had to think for a moment to recall who Li Jiawei was, and he felt a sudden headache.
The wife and daughter of the second most powerful man had come to Ling Ruonan’s villa—this was becoming a big issue.
"Aunt Li, Feiyang, why are you here?" Luo Ziling walked quickly to greet Li Jiawei and Wang Feiyang. "Please, come in."
"Ziling, I heard your mother was in a car accident and injured? Is she okay?" Li Jiawei asked Luo Ziling in an anxious tone, "We were shocked when we heard the news. Since Feiyang and I happened to be free, we decided to visit. How’s the situation now?"
"Fortunately, it’s not life-threatening. I administered treatment myself, so she’s fine for now," Luo Ziling replied as the group entered the living room.
Seeing Li Jiawei and Wang Feiyang enter, Ouyang Feifei and Luo Yuqing, who had been chatting on the sofa, immediately stood up.
Ouyang Feifei had met Li Jiawei before but wasn’t familiar with her, and this was her first time meeting Wang Feiyang.
Luo Yuqing had only seen Li Jiawei on TV and didn’t know Wang Feiyang either.
"Aunt Li, Miss Wang," Ouyang Feifei greeted Li Jiawei and Wang Feiyang graciously, while Luo Yuqing followed suit.
"Miss Ouyang, Miss Luo," Li Jiawei shook hands briefly with Ouyang Feifei and Luo Yuqing before letting go.
Wang Feiyang also greeted the two women politely. However, after the brief exchange, she grabbed Luo Ziling’s hand in front of the other two women and quietly asked, "Is your mother really okay now?"
"Barring any surprises, she’s generally fine. But her two bodyguards were seriously injured and have been sent to the hospital," Luo Ziling replied while looking at Li Jiawei. "I started learning medicine as a child and know a bit about healing, so I didn’t send my mom to the hospital."
"Your great-grandfather’s illness was cured by you, and even Dragon Rise’s Li Haiyang walked again thanks to your miraculous skills. Your medical prowess is exceptional," Li Jiawei smiled slightly as she spoke. "Hearing you say that, we’re relieved. By the way, where’s your mother?"
"She’s resting upstairs. Should I take you up to see her?" Although taking them upstairs might disturb Ling Ruonan’s rest and potentially wake her, given that Li Jiawei and Wang Feiyang had come to visit and it was still early, he couldn’t refuse their request to see her.
Li Jiawei nodded and followed Luo Ziling upstairs.
Wang Feiyang trailed behind. After exchanging a glance, Ouyang Feifei and Luo Yuqing followed as well.
As they climbed the stairs and prepared to enter the room, Wang Feiyang approached Luo Ziling’s side.
"Does your mother see Ouyang Feifei as your future wife?" Wang Feiyang whispered. "Aren’t you with Yang Qingyin? Is it that your mother disapproves of you being with Yang Qingyin and wants you to honor the engagement and marry Ouyang Feifei?"
"Feifei rushed over the moment she heard about my mother’s injury. I don’t want to discuss this right now," Luo Ziling said, opening the door gently and leading the women into the room.
"I can tell—your mother definitely wishes for you to marry Ouyang Feifei," Wang Feiyang whispered again. "And I’m sure you’ll end up marrying her. I’d bet on it."
Luo Ziling frowned slightly as he stared at the serious expression on Wang Feiyang’s face, unsure of her true intentions behind those words.
