Chapter 1434: Chapter 1434: Cry again, and someone will explode you
Ling Haijun ultimately couldn’t keep his dignity and spilled a lot of secrets under Luo Ziling’s threats.
He couldn’t hold onto his pride because Luo Ziling didn’t just threaten him; he made good on those threats.
Although the threats carried out didn’t include crushing his gun and ammo, the pain from the pressure points made him wish for death.
He believed that if he didn’t talk, there would be more experiences that made life worse than death—maybe even turning into a modern-day eunuch under the hands of Luo Ziling, this ultimate freak.
Luo Ziling recorded all the confessions from Ling Haijun.
After filming the videos, Luo Ziling didn’t make things harder for Ling Haijun and let him go.
This left Wuyue, Yang Xiaodong, Wang Zhenjun, and the others completely baffled.
"Keeping a living person captive would leave an opening for accusations. People could try to nail us for illegal detention. But with the videos and recordings we’ve got, that’s already more than enough. I’m certain that tonight, a lot of people won’t be able to sleep because of this. The show will go on. Let’s sit back and enjoy the drama."
Luo Ziling was confident in his decision, so he went ahead and made the call.
Upon hearing Luo Ziling’s explanation, Wuyue, Yang Xiaodong, and Wang Zhenjun didn’t say much more and followed his arrangement.
Still, it wasn’t like Luo Ziling was going to let Ling Haijun off so easily. Before sending him back, he had a little chat with the Ling Family’s spoiled brat, who had already been scared out of his wits.
"Cousin Haijun, I must apologize for frightening you today. I feel a bit bad," Luo Ziling said, motioning for Ling Haijun to sit down and have some tea with him.
During the video recording, Yang Xiaodong had already untied Ling Haijun.
The inhumane parts of the ordeal certainly weren’t captured on video.
Ling Haijun trembled, too terrified to sit down.
"Ah, cousin, don’t be so reserved. Now that everything’s clear, there’s no problem at all," Luo Ziling said with a sly smile as he looked at Ling Haijun. "If you don’t want tea, you must want some liquor. Right, the weather’s cold—we should have a drink."
As he spoke, Luo Ziling turned to Yang Xiaodong and asked, "Do we have any liquor?"
"Heh, yeah," Yang Xiaodong replied, pulling out two small bottles of Erguotou. "We were planning to keep them for ourselves later anyway."
Luo Ziling took the bottles, opened both of them, and handed one to Ling Haijun. "Here you go, cousin. It’s been a while. I didn’t expect you’ve been scheming against us all this time. You’ve certainly worked hard. Plotting against me—it must have been exhausting, huh? For all your effort, let’s toast!"
With that, he tilted his head back and gulped down several big swigs.
Wuyue, standing to the side, was almost amused by Luo Ziling’s words.
Ling Haijun, on the other hand, turned pale with fright, trembling as he stammered, "C-cousin... I’m sorry. It wasn’t me... it was Haining, and... and his father. They... they... Please don’t kill me, I beg you! I... I don’t dare drink."
"If I’m inviting you to drink, just drink! Why so wishy-washy?" Luo Ziling grew annoyed. "I, your cousin, am offering you a drink, and you won’t give me the courtesy? Erguotou is good liquor—northern folks love it. Hurry up and drink. Then you can head back and get some sleep!"
Ling Haijun had no choice but to take a sip, but the moment the liquor hit his throat, he started choking violently.
The liquor was strong, and since he usually avoided drinking anything like this, combined with his panicked state, he couldn’t help but erupt in a fit of harsh coughing.
After swallowing one mouthful, he froze: "You... you’re letting me go?"
"Of course I’m letting you go," Luo Ziling replied, his expression looking almost puzzled. "What, you think I’d book you a hotel room instead?"
Ling Haijun was speechless and started coughing violently again.
Luo Ziling raised his bottle of Erguotou again, toasted Ling Haijun, and said, "Tonight, you were just out drinking with me, weren’t you?"
Ling Haijun didn’t know how to react, and mechanically nodded.
"Cousin Haijun, the look on your face—it seems like you’re feeling wronged," Luo Ziling said seriously, tapping his fingers on the table. "Here I am offering you drinks, and you’re not giving me any respect. Is that it? Do you look down on me?"
"No, I don’t, honestly," Ling Haijun quickly shook his head, tears and snot streaming down his face as he begged Luo Ziling, "Cous... Luo... Luo Ziling, stop this, please. I’m begging you. I was wrong; I fell for Ling Haining’s manipulations and... and only did this because of it. We... I just didn’t want to accept you returning to the Ling Family, that’s all. I never wanted to kill you or push Auntie into a corner. Please, forgive me!"
"Ling Family’s heirs—are they truly this spineless?" Luo Ziling looked at Ling Haijun with disappointment. "If I were you, and I got caught red-handed, I’d keep my chin up and refuse to surrender. Even if I were beaten or scolded, I’d hold onto my dignity and display my spine. But look at you—you’ve embarrassed the entire Ling Family."
As he spoke, Luo Ziling patted Ling Haijun’s face and added meaningfully, "Sit like a man. Don’t act like a damn woman."
Ling Haijun was then subjected to a few slaps, which made him cry again from the pain.
In his heart, he wanted to say that he really had intended to be strong, but Luo Ziling’s joint pinches had made him suffer so much the idea was out of the question.
With Luo Ziling threatening to crush his key parts repeatedly with hand gestures, how could he dare risk standing firm?
Had he tried to act tough, the humiliation and torment he’d face would only be worse.
Seeing Ling Haijun sobbing uncontrollably, Luo Ziling suddenly felt bored. He slammed the empty Erguotou bottle onto the table and shouted angrily, "Ling Haijun, are you even a man? I invite you to drink, and you cry like you’re being wronged. If you humiliate me like this, I’ll make sure you won’t stay a man!"
Terrified, Ling Haijun dropped to his knees with a loud thud.
"Cousin, for the sake of our family ties, please forgive me. I swear I’ll never do anything like this again. Whatever I did in the past, I’ve confessed it all. I hope you can be magnanimous and let me go. I don’t want to die, and I definitely don’t want to be turned into a eunuch. Please, have mercy on me. I promise to follow your orders in the future. Whatever you want me to do, I’ll do it," Ling Haijun blurted out flawlessly without a single stammer.
Once he finished speaking, he broke down completely in tears.
"Alright, that’s enough. Stop crying and get out of here," Luo Ziling shouted, giving Ling Haijun a hard kick in the rear.
Ling Haijun fell face-first onto the ground but immediately scrambled up and continued begging Luo Ziling for mercy.
Even Yang Xiaodong couldn’t stand it anymore. He stepped forward, grabbed Ling Haijun by the neck, and growled, "Damn it! No one’s violated you, so why are you crying? Keep it up, and I’ll gather a few guys and make it happen!"
Yang Xiaodong’s words carried enough menace that Ling Haijun instantly stopped crying.
Luo Ziling glanced at Wuyue, curious to see how she’d react to Yang Xiaodong’s crude remark.
But Wuyue showed no reaction at all, which puzzled Luo Ziling.
