Chapter 1066 - Chapter 1066 Chapter 1066 Feeling Strange

Chapter 1066: Chapter 1066: Feeling Strange Chapter 1066: Chapter 1066: Feeling Strange After returning to the sanatorium, the two did not immediately go swimming but strolled around inside instead.

That was Luo Ziling’s request.

Exercising intensely right after eating was not good for digestion.

Lin Lan did not object and obediently followed Luo Ziling, strolling around the sanatorium with him.

The evening in Shanya was still a bit chilly, but compared to the cold in Yanjing, it was a completely different world.

As warm as spring–that was how Luo Ziling’s body felt.

When he left Yanjing, he was wearing thick winter clothes because he hadn’t expected the winter in the south to be so warm, and thus he had not prepared any spring clothes.

What he was wearing now was also quite warm: a thick coat over a shirt.

Lin Lan had suggested going clothes shopping with him, but he had refused.

He did not want to go shopping for clothes with Lin Lan because it felt strange to do so with her.

Lin Lan was not an ordinary woman, a textbook tomboy, and Luo Ziling did not know what kind of suggestions she might make if she accompanied him to buy clothes.

Anyway, he did not want to do something so contrary to her character with her.

“I heard you caused quite a stir in Yangcheng, not only being accompanied by several beauties but also getting into several fights,” Lin Lan brought up Luo Ziling’s affairs in Yangcheng on her own initiative, “and you even came into conflict with Li Jianguo’s two sons.”

“You know about that too?” Luo Ziling was quite surprised.

“What’s so surprising about it?” Lin Lan said dismissively, curling her lip, “If Li Jianguo wants to harm you, then just utterly destroy him.”

“When did you become so ruthless?” Ziling was even more astonished and immediately asked, “Have you investigated this person?”

Hearing that you had a conflict with Li Jianguo, I gathered quite a bit of dirt on him. If you want it, I can give it all to you,” Lin Lan said, standing up and facing Luo Ziling, “If you need, I can also help you find dirt on everyone in the Ling Family, and the Chen Family too.”

Upon hearing this, Luo Ziling was instantly excited, “Where did you find all this dirt on them?”

“I can’t tell you that!” Lin Lan shook her head.

“All right then!” Luo Ziling did not press further.

He was already very satisfied that Lin Lan could make such an offer.

He knew that if it had been before, had he asked Lin Lan such a question, she might have simply ignored him or responded with two words: “Top secret!”

“Then if you do find their dirt, just pass it on to me. You never know when it might be useful,” Luo Ziling did not turn down Lin Lan’s kind gesture.

“Anyway, I’m not going to be assigned to any tasks for a while, so I’ve got plenty of time.” Lin Lan smiled and then said to Luo Ziling, “That guy by your side, the one nicknamed ‘Dull Bird’, is really impressive in many ways. You can make good use of him.”

“I’ve already experienced his impressiveness.”

Lin Lan continued, “If someone wants to deal with you, then you can let him help you dig up dirt. He will definitely be able to find something. What I’ve found might overlap with what he finds, but there will surely be differences too. If you combine them, the effect will be even better.”

Luo Ziling happily looked at Lin Lan, “Luckily, you are not my enemy; otherwise, I would die a very ugly death.”

Lin Lan looked at Luo Ziling for a while and gently shook her head, “We shouldn’t become enemies because you’ve saved my life several times.”

Luo Ziling had initially wanted to make a joke, asking Lin Lan how she would like to repay him for saving her life, but when the words reached his lips, he swallowed them back down.

Seeing Luo Ziling fall silent, Lin Lan also did not take the initiative to say anything.

The two of them walked in the serene sanatorium, their footsteps light.

This feeling was good, or at least that’s what Luo Ziling and Lin Lan thought.

Sometimes, being with another person does not require words.

At times, silence is more eloquent than words–sometimes, saying nothing can feel better than deliberately speaking.

The two wandered aimlessly, remaining silent for quite a while.

For Lin Lan, walking slowly with a man in the quiet night was a first in her life.

She hadn’t expected that walking together without talking could evoke such special feelings.

After about an hour of intermittent conversation, Luo Ziling checked the time–it was almost nine o’clock, and he promptly suggested going for a swim. Lin Lan offered no objections, and they both quickened their steps, turning towards her room.

On the way back to Lin Lan’s room, Luo Ziling suddenly remembered he hadn’t prepared his swimming trunks.

After telling Lin Lan, she said softly, “I’ve prepared them for you!”

Lin Lan had prepared swimming trunks for him, leaving Luo Ziling a bit stunned.

Lin Lan didn’t bother explaining further and went into her room to prepare for swimming.

The swimming pool was not far from where Lin Lan lived, just about two to three hundred meters away.

When they arrived at the swimming pool, it was late and empty, with the staff already preparing to close for the night.

But upon seeing Lin Lan, they greeted her warmly.

The pool attendant was a man in his forties, an injured veteran according to Lin Lan, who had been wounded in action and lost his ability to work, so he stayed on in the army’s sanatorium.

Lin Lan had helped him in the past, and since she was also a beautiful woman, she maintained a good relationship with the uncle-like attendant.

After the attendant had set them up, he tossed the keys to Lin Lan, asking her to lock up after they left.

“It seems you’re quite popular,” Luo Ziling joked, “Your transformation has paid off; even the pool attendant trusts you.”

His comment earned him a roll of her eyes from Lin Lan.

Once they had changed, Luo Ziling, wearing only a pair of tight swimming trunks, entered the pool somewhat stiffly.

It was unclear whether the dim pool lighting was the attendant’s doing or Lin Lan’s, but it certainly added an air of dimness.

The pool wasn’t temperature-controlled, and by this time of the night, the water felt quite cool. Diving in, Luo Ziling instantly felt the chill.

Fortunately, he had warmed up before entering the pool, stretching his arms and legs.

A short while later, Lin Lan appeared at the edge of the pool wearing a one-piece swimsuit.

Upon seeing Lin Lan, Luo Ziling couldn’t help but gape.

Lin Lan, in her swimsuit and with her exceptional figure, presented an arresting sight that set the blood racing.

Lin Lan jumped into the pool beside Luo Ziling, splashing him with water before swimming casually towards the middle of the pool.

Luo Ziling, holding onto the pool rail, watched with envy as Lin Lan swam back and forth.

He considered himself adept at many things, but once in the water, he felt utterly helpless.

He hoped eagerly that Lin Lan would teach him how to swim.

Having swum a couple of laps, Lin Lan swam right up to him and, without ceremony, pulled him into the water.

The pool wasn’t very deep, barely one and a half meters, but Luo Ziling was afraid of water, and he was caught off guard by Lin Lan’s forceful tug. Panicking, he almost stumbled into the water.

In his flurry, he instinctively grabbed onto Lin Lan’s body.

And, unfortunately, his hands landed where they shouldn’t have…
