Chapter 933: Chapter 482: The Law of the Heretics under the Unification of Law and Religion
Ivita consoled Dave. "Don’t worry, since the Raven Rules are too preoccupied to concern themselves with you now, you can come with me up the mountain, and no ravens will come to warn you."
"Now you can come with me up the mountain."
Dave rubbed his head, feeling that made sense, yet he still felt that something was amiss.
As Ivita and Dave headed to Doomsday Volcano, having Dave, a refugee from the Raven People, made it easier to deceive the heretics’ laws, and Ivita did not need to use the Complete Transformation Skill to hide their tracks.
As the two traveled together, they encountered another Madman with a massive head, wandering alone in the wilderness, utterly isolated, muttering to himself, ’Who will help us? Who will save me...’
’Everything has already disappeared, let us all die together!’
’No one can help us now. Here, there are only heretics, even the gods have died here.’
But as Dave approached him, Ivita’s magic on Dave automatically established a communication bridge—like a surgeon connecting tissues—which reconnected the broken mental network of the Madman. Immediately, the Madman’s head shrank a bit, and a glimmer of sanity returned to his eyes.
Dave said to the Madman, "My brother and kin, we are far from the brink of despair. There are still people who will help us. His Majesty Ivita here is our great savior, a king as young and dynamic as Leyos II. Our poor Majesty, too, had repeatedly charged alone before the Heretical Emperor. His spear struck the Heretical Emperor’s breastplate, but that breastplate, being a magical item, was too hard to penetrate...’
"He was too hasty, charging alone into the heretic forces. Our king died on the battlefield, and the Raven Kingdom was hence shattered."
The Madman’s state gradually restored, the claws that had degenerated on his palms broke off and fell to the ground, leaving behind softer fingernails.
The Madman knelt on one knee before Ivita, "Your Majesty of the foreign land, I am Jace. I was once a militiaman in a village."
"Thanks to your rescue, otherwise I would have been a monster for life. I am willing to follow you as thanks for saving me from my chaotic thoughts. My life is yours."
Ivita lowered her eyelids. "We are mutually beneficial, so you don’t need to see me as your savior. I am heading to Doomsday Volcano. If you wish to accompany me, let’s go together."
Ivita glanced at Dave, surprised that he knew her identity. Right, she had helped him construct a mental network with magic, and she became a node in that network. It must have been during the initial reconstruction of the mental network that some of her information shared with Dave.
But compared to her identity information, Dave was far simpler, and thus she had never paid attention and hadn’t realized that she had established a brief mental connection with Dave.
Ivita thought to herself that she had truly been shortsighted, underestimating Dave whom she considered an ordinary person.
A lesson to learn from.
Never underestimate anyone.
Otherwise, she would make the same mistake as Jalen and the others.
Ivita now possessed total control over most areas of her inner self and had learned many interesting Mind Magic Skills from the Witch Corps of Epirus. She used these skills to create a virtual heart within herself, implanting this faux heart into the foundational Raven mental network connected to Dave and Jace.
The virtual heart was completely fair, devoid of any emotions like a Saint, ensuring that no one could peer into her real thoughts through the network, and it also served as an anchor to constantly ensure her original intentions.
While Ivita was doing this, Dave was looking shifty and then whispered to Jace, "He is not a foreign king, you addressed His Majesty Ivita incorrectly, you should call him our king."
Jace looked astonished and then understood something. "All the royals are dead, even those royals from foreign dynasties that were inserted here are gone. The Raven Kingdom and the Raven Rules are left without a master—a region without a king is just like an anarchic area of chaos where everyone lives in a lawless Mortal Hell."
"Even this land will gradually wither."
"We must have a new king. If the Raven Rules are rebuilt in His Majesty’s hands, then he will be our new king."
Jace felt inferior. "But our country has been invaded by powerful enemies. His Majesty might not accept this mess. Are we supposed to plead with him, pitying this country, thus staying here?"
"Moreover, the heretics are so powerful."
"Can they really be defeated? Even the Empire is no match for the heretics, right?"
Dave also fell into a dejected silence, which was why he hadn’t dared to speak up to Ivita.
When Ivita came back to her senses and refocused on the real world, the two men kept their thoughts to themselves. Ivita said to them, "You’ve survived this calamity, and there’s one advantage—you’ve gained mastery over a special magic under the Raven Rules: Telekinesis. Your current level of Telekinesis is only equivalent to that of Witch and Wizard Apprentices, but with training and study, you could fully exploit this magic to become official Wizards, even Great Wizards."
